Fasinating! Its neat how they haven't changed the method to fastening lenses together all his time! Thank you for posting I just purchased one of these without the autographic feature.

Your english is excellent. Better than some of my fellow Americans. Nice video. SOmetimes just a bit of gooey, dried lubricant can mess things up. Carefully cleaning the works with lighter fluid or something like Ballistol (gun cleaner) can help.

I am absolutely fascinated by these early 20th century consumer cameras. Today I think our standards for film cameras are very very high with our super complex Leicas and Hasselblads and we don't really appreciate just how far photographic technology has come from the early days of consumer photography.

I just picked up a kodak jr no 2 autograph and the shutter is a little sticky, hopefully getting down to this point and cleaning out the mechanisms helps!

Thanks. I don't understand why these cameras used such a strange mechanism to get to the shutter. It makes it almost impossible to get that part out without specialist equipment and even then it's difficult. Why not just use a screw turn!?

I have a similar issue with an old ensign camera although in my case the bulb mode acts the same as the timed mode rather than the other way around. I think the issue is that in a lot of these old simple metal on metal mechanisms the springs can lose tension and when the forces are out of tune they tend to get hung up just by friction. In my case I can fix it simply by leaving the shutter setting jammed between bulb and instant and that fixes the bulb but you may need to tinker. The joys of old technology :)

I bought one today, and it was dead. However... After simply unscrewing the back optical group and adding (soaking) aperture blades with some alcohol - it became alive :) Thus, just work it out a bit and add some solvent/ oil. Don't disasemble more than you need

Wie groß ist der Abstand der beiden Linsen zu einander ?

Das kann ich dir leider nicht sagen, tut mir leid. Der ganz genaue Abstand findet sich bestimmt irgendwo im Netz :)
