They definitely could add a few more lines for paras to say, but I really like the fact they’re not built from English gibberish sounds but actually different languages that use harder, sharper syllables. It’s very nice, to me personally, makes it feel more like a language and less like baby babbling lol.
I really do prefer this very lovely art style over the ones where things are meant to look "realistic". It gives the game world a lot more character imo! The slow pacing of the game play is also really calming and nice. With a simplistic UI I can really see Paralives as a go-to cozy life sim!
I’m really excited by the relationship building. Curious about chemistry and trait compatibility. I don’t like the excessive blush, but otherwise I’m seeing a lot of interesting features! The piano animations were cracking me up, but love to hear Satie.
The UI elements are probably my least favourite. They give start up tech company vibes - in a bad way. It looks too minimalist but also too clunky at the same time. Mobile game-esque.
Most UI hires come from that background 😅 and of course you need to take account it needs to be user friendly and pass accessibility (the typography can be better if that's the reason)
im sure they will have closed testing prior to release. still an estimated year left in terms of development, so a lot can change. if enough people talk about the overall clunkiness of the UI, it's bound to go through some adjustments. i totally see what you mean about it. seems overly sandwiched too.
Agreed! I love everything about the game so far, except the UI. I think it makes a huge difference between making it look polished vs. underdeveloped. Even the copywriting, there are inconsistencies. Punctuation or no punctuation, sometimes things in title case vs. sentence case, etc. It makes a big difference for many brands, even subconsciously. I think ultimately they would need a style guide internally to make sure it's all consistent.
Excited to see the final game, just wish the characters felt a bit more lively? They feel a bit robotic in this demo in both tone and body language at times (like the proposal fail and success were hardly different to me)
Look good so far. One thing i think need to be improved however, is the emotions and expressions of the characters. They look quite robotic. Would be nice to see them be more lively, through intonation in their voices, facial expressions, hand gesture, body language, etc..😊
@misha_charny25 yeah, I think the sims are very different with that, maybe because they are going for a more comedic/funny thing, rather that a realistic thing. You can see it in other parts of the games too (all the weirdness in the game, the unexpected events that would never happen in real life but are part of the games identity...). I like that about the sims. Seems like paralives is going for a more realistic approach, wich isn't a bad thing, I think it can turn out really good too. I just think they could put a bit more expression in the characters behaviour, to make it more dynamic.

Yea, like tbh a fair amount of thrse are fine, but it would be nice if the big things like proposals were a little bigger. BUT this game still looks really incredible and im really excited by what im seeing here. Its clear so much care has been placed in it
if this is a scam I will never forgive you, you took the most beloved parts of every sims game and put it all seemlessly into one without locking it behind more than one paywall, and from the looks of it, figured out how to make things like jobs not be a rabbithole while also not being extremely repetitive. One thing I will hope for though is more bad things, like if you talk with customers too much at your job your manager reprimands you, and if you get promoted to manager, you have to be the one to keep your fellow emplyees on task while also not being harsh enough to make them quit, and if too many quit within say the week you get fired. I hope there will also be bad random events that happen, say you get robbed, nothing violent or anything, but something inconvent that can spice up a game. I just hope this game doesn't go the safe route the way the sims did, though seeing as I cant tell if that black sensor bar was really in the game or for youtube, i think this game likely wont but still, I dont want to have to add 30 mods to make a game fun, I just want the game to be fun on its own.

I think the art style is a good compromise between being too uncanny and being too cartoony. i think it's the right fit for a light-hearted life simulation game.
This game looks nice so far However, I cannot tell how deep relationships and personalities go based off this alone (of course) but it does seem somewhat shallow (idk what other word to use) I also like the shading and art style tho. Its not necessarily my cup of tea with the harsh lines, but it does remind me of the spiderverse movies
I wish she got more excited to get proposed to I hope you guys make it so you can make your characters over exaggerated cuz I love playing exaggerated and crazy characters

I see y'all were somewhat frugal with the animations. Honestly though, that is completely fine. The animations and complexity are probably why Sims 4 is so broken. The Wedding stories one and the restaurant one are the most broken, probably because the animations and interactions are so complicated.

I use this ottoman in my sims game - it has the similar orange colour, similar decor, similar print on the top. I don't have anything against, but they are identical! Also in video we see the egg rug. Ok, this is interesting idea, but hey, they can just change the shape of rug. They also just identical. I'm talking about this items, because i know who their autors and i know this things - i use them in my game lol. It's be perfect, if they ask the cc autors before use, but for example this items autors are not popular, i don't think that the game's creators asked them
This still really doesn’t make much sense given the fact every item in paralives can be recolored using the color wheel IN the game. Eitherway, CC creators don’t CREATE the objects. They create them from real life, so yeah, who cares if a cc creator and an indie developer team end up creating similar objects? It’s not stealing, they just took inspiration from similar objects. You saying that is almost like saying “oh this game can’t have any blue cars because that’s too similar to all the blue cars sims 4 cc creators have made”.
