Hey I am wondering why are you not using HDRi Link to connect the texture to the "Distribution" ? This would be nicer to test all other textures quicky...

Works with any framerate. The loops loop back around at 179 frames.

Is it maybe possible to slow the animation of the gobo down, it's pretty fast?
probably gonna have to do that manually in after effects and render double frames or interpolate
In texture tab - Animation, change in Timing from Exact frame to Exact Second and choose fps what you want
