These totes are great. The latches are great. They are just like the totes which are just about indestructible. I have dropped them from my semi truck and haven't broken a tote yet. I have tried other totes and had to replace them. Sence, I found these, these are now replacing the cheap totes. You can stack these up where other totes crush and break under pressure. These you can stack and not ever worry about anything getting broke or collapsing. My storeage locker where most of them are stacked 6 high.

I really appreciate your videos, they are practical for real world ham applications. I hope you film some of your trip you always have content that makes me wish I were, and feel like I am there. Real yet to the point. You are quickly becoming my favorite ham hobby tuber. The guys who post hour long fancy green screen yammering videos are not my cup of tea, I honestly do not care what beer a person is drinking and find no pleasure in watching them pour it into a glass. Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you enjoy the videos. We just got back from our expedition and I now have about 300gb of images and video to sort through. There will be at least three ham radio/vacation videos to come from it. I always felt my best content are the videos where I go out and do stuff. Anyone can sit around and talk ham radio, but it is more fun to go out and do ham radio.

Thanks for the info! I was thinking that I'd need the much more expensive Pelican or Nanuk case to go portable, but these look really useful!
I've also heard good things about the Harbor Freight padded cases. I may not trust them as being as waterproof as a Pelican case, but it would be a good option for an inexpensive case.
I just found your channel because I was curious about these new husky professional grade totes, the heat of the summer in New Mexico made our Rubbermaid roughneck and other totes literally melt in our attic. Stacking them and repeated thermal cycles probably didn’t help. The Christmas decorations are good for the most part but moths got into every. The waterproof seal should solve that as well. I think I’m officially a beginner in the ham radio sphere
These are GREAT !!! I have 2 20s stacked one on top of another, then my Rigid PRO tool storage system tower, with 2 additional boxes are on top of those, full of Makita tools. The clear polycarbonate is tough as hell !! These are almost like Pelican boxes for about $30-.
We've been using our's camping all summer. They are holding up very well. The polycarbonate lid is a little scratched, but really no worse for the wear. I've even left them out in the rain and no water penetrated the seal.

Hey awesome wicked vid. im a bank shore angler fisherman and i have seriously been wanting a husky storage bin to hold my plano tackle binder and fishing baits and dude you after 1 minute you make me want one of these to keep my fishing baits and to keep my pets out from getting into my fishing baits.

I just happened across this video. I wish I would have seen it sooner. We were vacationing in Ellison Bay Wisconsin, about 16 miles southeast, across Green Bay from the upper peninsula of Michigan.
That was July 11-17. We were probably up there about the same time. It might have been fun to try a qso across the bay.
Our first night of our Yooper trip was at Wells State Park. It would have been fun to try a contact across the bay.

I'm going to look for those two sizes. I only got the largest size from my Home Depot because that was all they had in the last couple years and that largest size takes up to much room in a Jeep.
They seem to go out of stock quickly. I ended up searching nearby locations to get both sizes.
@@KB9VBRAntennas I found them, got two #5's and one #12. The #12 uses the same lid as the #20 so I know it will fit length wise. Much better not having to put a mix of gear in one container. Thanks for showing.

Looks very useful for the accessories like antennas and stuff, but maybe not the greatest for your actual radio and tuner. What do you suggest for those? I'm looking at the Harbor Freight Apache protective case right now. Thanks and 73, Bruce KE8QFP

I use the medium size cube for coax and the small ones for rope and antenna parts. In the medium cube I pack one 50 foot and 2 25 foot pieces of RG-8x

My wife and I have a truck camper and have been looking for a more robust, rugged storage solution and are interested in your long term usage of the Husky products. When I examined them at a local Home Depot the clear lids felt a bit brittle, like they would easily crack in cold weather. I understand that the Husky containers are not built for abuse like the Milwaukee Packout line and to be fair are designed and priced accordingly. What has been your experience in this regard?
We've used these bins for two camping seasons and they are still going strong. The clear lid is polycarbonate so it should be stronger than the more common polystyrene. My cold weather experience is a bit limited, although I do keep my antenna kit in the car all winter and so it has been subject to sub zero temperatures. Nothing has cracked yet.

i know this is for tools, but was wondering if i can store cigars in here ? mostly worried about the smell of plastic seeping into them. other containers are cheap and easily break so this looks heavy duty to store
The buckets aren't food grade but the lid is polycarbonate and the body polyethylene, which should be safe materials. I did not observe any plastic smells coming from them.
your video listing says "waterproof". so how well does it keep stuff dry when under water? the video not not show you placing a number of bricks in them and forcing them under a couple feet of water with a dry town in them. or are they only water "resistant". the lower priced sealable containers tend to not seal so great. or just fail early in life.
interesting totes, not sure about the lids. clear "plastic" tends to be brittle, or at least cracks easily. husky has been a ok cheap brand for decades. i might buy one to check it out.
I didn't test the waterproofness of the containers as it wasn't my concern. Husky lists them as 'waterproof' but I probably wouldn't use them where I required a truly waterproof container. But after using them for a year outdoors, I have found they are highly water resistant. They have been left outdoors in the rain and there was not any penetration. The tops are made of polycarbonate, which is stronger than clear polystyrene found on cheaper containers. I haven't had any issues with them after a year of camping, so I'll continue to use them.
I think the only food storage device I’ll ever need is my vintage 23 quart pressure canner from 1978. Best $50 I’ve spent
Have you tested them for the watertight claim? Filled them with water and stood them on their side? I recently purchased a bunch of 'air tight' / 'water tight' Gamma lids only to realize they are not. They fail at the one thing they were designed for.
I have not filled them with water and checked for leaks. But I have used them all summer and left them out in the rain while camping. So far they have kept the contents dry and dust free.
