    I go back as far to watching Julius play and I thought wow this guy is the best. Then came this guy who was as graceful in the air and the best two player I ever seen play the game. He is the goat, he would dominate in any era. He dominated even when the most dominate center played and that was shaq. Nothing could match his stamina and will to win.

    Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Derrick Rose, Dewayne Wade are all great players that were influence by Jordans game! This is the man who motivated them to be the best they could be! Jordan is their foundation, so, you see there is no need to talk about these men in competition with Jordan when it is Jordan who gave them their drive! They only want to play as good as their idol and for that we must show all of them love! Not one of these guys have ever said one bad thing about MJ, it has only been us attacking them for wanting to be as good as their idol! We need these guys to keep the league exciting, if they all sucked we would never have great basketball! I know for a fact the same criticism we give these guys, fans of Oscar Robinson, Julius Erving, Kareem, Bird and Magic had the same negative things to say about Jordan, especially Dr Julius Erving fans. Fans of Dr. J talked negatively about Jordan for years! Julius game motivated Jordan and Dominique Wilkins to be the best they could be and if it weren't for Julius game we might not have a Jordan or Dominique game! Let's just enjoy these guys while they're here. You can have your favorites but you need the other one's so you guy can prove just how great he is amongst equal talent!

    Lebron's stats may catch up to Jordan's one day (possibly even the rings), but he'll never be as good as Jordan. And he'll never put on a show the way Jordan did. MJ was fun to watch -- the Bulls put on a hell of a show every night. Lebron's style is mechanical; he's a big guy who muscles his way into the paint and finishes with boring layups. I'm not knocking Lebron -- those boring layups get the job done. But he doesn't have that warrior mentality, heart and insane creativity that Jordan did.

    Even statistically, Jordan is the best. He has the highest scoring average in regular season playoffs,finals ever. He has the highest PER(player efficiency rating) in regular season,playoffs,finals ever. He has the second highest Win Shares/game in regular season,the highest win shares/game in playoffs and in finals. He has the highest +/- in nba history...and he did it with way tougher rules...Lebron is not even closed and he will never be...let alone his technical/physical/mental skills.

    I agree, LeBron does compare to Jordan in some aspects to me but coming from a LeBron fan (me), I don't ever think LeBron will be better than Jordan. 5 Mvp's and 8 scoring titles....? Jeeze, no one can top that. Rookie of the year, Defensive player of the year, lead the league in stills not 1, not 2 but 3 times I believe.

    I respect yur opinion, but LeBron is not only about "boring layups". Now that he's in Miami with a better team, he doesn't have to put a show every night, but when he was in Cleveland, I swear every game was a show. His dunks, his chasedown blocks, his shots when he was on fire. Jordan is the goat, but LeBron is on the right path to at least be considered one of the all-time players.

  • @dookdawg214

    I never said LeBron will never be close. Scroll up to my earlier post -- I even suggest he may catch up in stats. As far as how exciting he is to watch... Well, we won't get very far in such an argument because it's rather subjective. It'd be like arguing about comedians that are or aren't funny.

    Also, Jordan could've ended up with as many as 8 or 9 rings if he hadn't got bored and messed around with baseball. I think the Bulls would've almost certainly won those two years Jordan took off. Jordan also retired early -- not age-wise but in terms of level of play. His last year with the Bulls he was well at his average in scoring (maybe even won a scoring title that year -- can't remember). Many will see Lebron's 6th ring (if it happens) as the ultimate decider, but that's not fair.

    Comparing players is fun but pointless. Different eras. Kobe in his prime played a different era than LeBron does in his prime. The competition nowadays is not as great as it was in Kobe's prime or Jordan's day.

  • @emonemo25
    @emonemo25 10 лет назад

    I love Jordan but you are ignorant if you say LeBron will never be close. He is a more rounded player then Jordan. Despite not being as dynamic of a scorer he is better than Jordan in all other parts of the game.You say he isn't exciting to watch? He locks people down on defense, he plays the game with such power and grace, and he has numerous highlight plays every game. If he caught up in rings LeBron would be in the discussion as the greatest of all time and you're a fool if you say otherwise.

    • @boogieloo1831
      @boogieloo1831 6 лет назад +9

      emonemo25 - this entire statement is funny. LBJ lockdown on defense? More well rounded than MJ? How? Defense is 50% of the game and LBJ is not a great defender on the perimeter or inside. MJ is widely considered the greatest perimeter defender in history and at the very least, top 5 defender ever. Offensively LBJ may play the point forward position but that doesn't make him more well rounded especially considering MJ could play that role as well - and when he did, he dominated. But MJ understood playing off the ball as well as controlling the ball at times made him more dangerous - LBJ insists on always controlling the offense because he's obsessed with stats (he knows this is the only area he can compete in against MJ).
      MJ had a thousand more moves than LBJ at the basket, in the post etc. He had a face forward game as well as a back to the basket game. LBJ hardly posts up and isn't very good at it when he does. MJ also could make passes LBJ can't dream of because MJ had those huge hands that allowed him to grip the ball and make ridiculous passes with speed and accuracy all with one hand - he'd even pass when going up for a jump shot and when the post defender would run to double him, he'd make a sweet one handed dish in the air to the open man. These are things LBJ simply cannot physically do as he doesn't have those hands. MJ also had much better ambidexterity and could do the most complex dunks and layups with his left hand as well - he simply dwarfs LBJ in this area.
      Don't mistake the role LBJ plays in his system with him having better overall skills than MJ who was a shooting guard playing in the Triangle - these systems are very different period. As far as diverse offensive skills, MJ is unparalleled and was impossible to defend because he hit you with so many different ways of scoring. LBJ is much more a power player than a skills player in comparison to MJ and he largely feasts off the soft rules and ticky tack foul calls of today.
      This leads to my final point - today's game is so much easier that it's not even funny. LBJ averages less than MJ in an era that is significantly easier to score in. The new rules have ushered in a scoring bonanza- why do you think all these little guards score 30 indiscriminately? LBJ is an incredible player but when scratching beneath the service, he's not as good as MJ period.

      Um No he's not. LeBron quit playing defense. Jordan has 9 first team defense awards to go with his 10 scoring titles. At no time has LeBron been a more rounded player. Even 6 years on that is still the case.

  • @thomaslewis1909
    @thomaslewis1909 11 лет назад

    lebron shot the highest fg percentage in nba history as swingman. nobody who plays that style of basketball has ever come close statistically to lebrons 12-13 year. if you put lebron on that bulls team, they would have been better i think. he can rebound better and pass better than jordan, shoot the three better, and is close in leadership skills. lebron would have ploowed through 90's defense. he is huge

    • @jasonmatthews806
      @jasonmatthews806 4 года назад +1

      No he wouldn't. LeBron would have been hammered by those defenses. He flops and whines if he feels the air shift due to a player getting close to him. There is no way he is mentally tough enough to play against those defenses. He may be a freak athletically now but he has benefitted explicitly because teams don't play real defense anymore. The rules were changed to make the game more exciting and allow shooters to get all the time and good looks at the basket as humanly possible.
      They didn't have to change the rules to make the game more exciting in MJ's era. He did that all by himself.
