I owned one of those Lotus Europas once! Mine was the John Player Special version with the beautiful black and gold paint job. Lovely car. Haven't seen any on the road for years.
These cars were fragile in a wreck. In 1975 I saw a Europa slide sideways into the front end of an LTD. The Lotus broke to pieces with the body completely gone. Unfortunately the passenger was killed at the scene.
@@paulskopic5844 They were indeed. Fiberglass! Driving home from college late one night, very tired and groggy, I just plain out, dumb me, backed the Lotus into the bumper of another car behind me in the dark. Damage to big old tank, steel bumper American car...zilch. To the Lotus...in to the dealer for major repair. Agreed. Not a car to be in, in a wreck. As in the sad case you listed.

One of my favourite cars as a kid in the 1970s, that particular model too. I saw one of those at an ambulance depot in Huntingdon (Cambs) a few years ago.
Would have liked to see the Lancia Stratos in this list. Maybe wasn't enough of a "wedge" shape??? It was a great car, too. Thanks for sharing these rare beauties.
Some aren't "ultra rare" at all - since they were production cars (Maserati Bora, Lotus Europa, Lambo Silhouette) - and why would they be "absolutely forgotten"?!

Lotus Europa: 243 in UK as of 2019 ...is that "ultra rare"? Oh and again, one of my favourite cars since the age of 11, definitely not "forgotten" by me at least.
I currently own a 2006 "facelift" Subaru Forester XT auto and there are only 75 in UK right now ...would you like to feature it as ULTRA ultra very extremely rare? ;-)

I was so much in love with the Europa, that is probably why many years later I bought a X1/9 that I kept 7 years.
Great list! That BMW Turbo looked futuristic for it's era. That Lambo Silhouette is a nice looking car, reminds me of a Pantera! To me, the Mosler MT 900 was styled a lot better than the Consulier, but the back end looked just like a Vette!

I think the Consulier actually had a 2 liter Chrysler engine.
No, not forgotten. I remember the Lotus Europa. You could get it in John Player colours. Just like the racing team.
I've never forgotten them. I've always wanted to own one. A tiny little car that handled like a go-kart. Oops, shouldn't use that term, because sometimes they don't go - 'kart'.
I had only driven 1 LOTUS EUROPA, not mine , an associate brought this one RHD in the USA, which as you know driver LHD, NO PROBLEM , but was a witch to parallel park., wonderful car. I brought back a RHD BMW I bought used in SCOTLAND , a model not seen in USA. CHEERS FROM NJ. USA

Before I watched the video, I remembered all of the cars except the Isdera and the Mosler before the MT900.
1 more, the BMW Turbo was actually BMW 2002 Turbo.
The Europa always did it for me.
The first Mosler shown was a 4cylinder turbo by the sounds of it. And bloody hideous. The second Mosler was a beast 👍
That Mosler creation is seriously fugly. Even after a restyle they didn't sell very well. Lesson to be learned is to get a stylist to design your car don't do it yourself.

The Consulier GTP did NOT have a 6.3L V-8... it DID HAVE A Chrysler based, 2.2 liter turbo 4.
The BMW is "Hotrod" from the Transformers..
The like goes to E25 turbo.

Some of these engines sound quite different from the specs given. The Mosler Consulier is billed as a V8, but sounds like a four, while the BMW is billed as a four but sounds like a V8.
Yeah, that BMV was *hot*.
Isdera... shows white car. claims only one concept car made!!!.... then shows a second silver version with slightly diff body.... really?
Panteras were good mid engine cars!
...and so "forgotten" that there is even a band named after them!
