    I'm sitting on the sofa, drinking cold latte machiatto at 11pm and throwing a look at the tv every 20 minutes or so. It is muted now because there is nothing more interesting than a dose of Miro trying to catch up on chores😂😂😂. I also did nothing today. Disclaimer: because I'm on vacation and not at home. But I do worry how my plants are at home in Germany, they have to survive 12 days without me. Some will probably be very happy, because unlike you I'm a notorious overwaterer. On a happier note I did discover that my sister in law has a Hoya carnosa (according to a plant identifying app I randomly used) and it is beautiful and very long (190 cm) climbing a string hooked on the ceiling and I have finished negotiations successfully and can have several very long cuttings from its multiple side tendrils.😊😊😊 It looks very healthy, has juicy, succulent, up to 13 cm long, splashy leaves and I blame YOU for making me notice it in the first place! Thank you❤❤❤ and greetings from Bulgaria😘🌿🌿🌿

      Oh, you are just in the neighborhood - almost! :D I hope you have a nice vacation :) And don't worry, your plants will be more than fine. They can do well without us 😂 What a fun discovery too! I also recently was gifted a H. carnosa but she is very sun-bleached and the person who kept her didn't manage pests at all so she is going to be staying away from most of my plants for at least a season!

      @@BasiePlants Yes I am😁. I recently discovered you on RUclips l and am newly immersing myself in the Hoya world. My sister in law's carnosa will be my second Hoya. I discovered that I had bought my first just a week ago without even noticing: a Hoya gracilis was her name, I believe. I did discover a couple (OK, more like a dozen) other hoyas through your videos, mostly the thicker leaved ones, that sooner or later will end up at home. I totally blame you!!! Space is a premium at my appartment and look what you make me do😭😂😂😂P. S. Good luck with your carnosa; I know you will work your miracle and she will thrive 💚🌿💚

    Sorry to see the roots come off your microphylla. That would’ve freaked me out! Only having one main root that all the roots grow from is always a risky position anyway. Now you’ll have 7 different root systems develop! While I watched your video, I was online trying to figure out what plant supplies I can order online and what stuff is so expensive I have to leave the house to buy it locally. I got my watering (mostly) done yesterday except for about 15 or so on the wall, but I need help getting those down and taking them to the kitchen. So that has to wait. I sold 4 terrariums yesterday so I want to make more, but I’m feeling like a total bum today!

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  4 месяца назад

      Yeah, that root system was not great and it was really hard to see what I was cutting so that went a bit south :D I do think it would have been better to restart it or get a back up plant going anyway, but I was hoping to leave the base as security :D Oh well! So nice to hear you sold some terrariums! That is a fun hobby! Do you make them in small glasses or slightly larger?

    I've been watering and dusting off many plants this morning. I'm glad you are videoing plant chores, but I have a "challenge" that doesn't seem to correlate with what you are doing. But you are one of the ONLY people I trust with my question. Last September, I bought a cute Hoya Globulosa. It had 3 or 4 beautiful leaves that have now grown almost as long as my hand with gorgeous veination. However, because of my lack of hoya knowledge, I did not realize how thick and sturdy the stems would be on this. Thicker than any obovata I have. It's just a little over 2 feet tall now (about 70 cm). It's not top-heavy at this time, but I cannot even imagine how I am going to be able to trellis one of my most favorite hoyas. I know I probably should have thought about this when it was much smaller, but now I don't know what to do. Someone told me to try to use bamboo stakes and clip it to another stake close to it, so that it starts to grow "downward." But I am most certain that somebody else told me if you did that with hoyas...the newest leaves would not grow properly or fall off. Is that true? What can I do to help my globulosa? I just found a video of yours from a while back (30 days of Hoya), and you mentioned that globulosa sometimes does not even want to be attached to a trellis 😵‍💫😢

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  4 месяца назад +1

      H. globulosa is definitely not easy to trellis! To be honest, when my plant got that big I cut her! Globulosa likes to grow upward and the stem can be very firm - but this depends on the clone. Some are faster and more pliable, some are not. I would say to try to let it grow as tall as you can and when you are happy with the growht, try then gently and slowly bending her to the bamboo hoop, with the tip going up. I am sure part of it can be already tied to the bamboo hoop and then let the rest just grow and when you judge it is long enough to go down and up, then do it :) I hope that was somewhat clear 😅
