    Wow! This is super fascinating. History is such an important thing to learn.

    This is something important to the future we will live in. One where most of the population is homeless and living for scraps, or one where everyone's basic needs are met and people can enjoy their lives.

    We will reach a point that we will need a Universal Income for everyone. Everything will be done by a machine powered by AI, and will be done cheaper, faster AND better quality.

      @brandon_wallace Год назад

      Good idea. Let's have machines do all the work.

      @@brandon_wallace a better idea is kill most of the population off through war and famine, but keep just enough worker slaves smart enough to run and maintain the AI but too cowardly to want independence for themselves. We absolutely have to keep all the 1 percent elites at the top cuz dey be da smarter wunz and sheeeetzzz

    Maybe software engineers should form a union like the actors and writers have

      So does an AI assisted software developer deserve more money since (s)he is more efficient?

      @BeepBoop2221 Год назад

      @@shadsluiterI believe everyone should be paid fairly and unions are a way of doing that without being being exploited.

    I believe we have a possible third outcome that AI develolment becomes stagnate and ceases to become profitable.
    At which point companies will abandon it because as we all known they are driven by profit.
    We saw elements of this with the articles about "model collapse"
    I see a lot of doomsaying about chatgpt replacing developers by my experience using it hasnt been positive, i had to keep correcting it before it even got close.
    I can see why stack disallows it.

      We really haven't cracked the code of real AI. The stuff we have now is getting really good at auto-complete.

      @@shadsluiter I agree LLMs are just that.
      What is your opinion of model collapse?

    Interesting! Maybe there should be a way by which people who get fabulously rich have to give back to the community. Maybe through taxes or other means 😊

    • @shadsluiter
      @shadsluiter  Год назад +2

      What if the tax laws are written by the super wealthy?

      @@shadsluiterwe already have that.
