Carrier bearings(swing bearing) are a pain. It's been a few years since I've done one professionally and now remember why i didn't like doing them. Great video. Can't wait to see this old girl on the road again
Yeah I get it. If you don’t have a press big enough you have to take it to them anyways. But if you do some of the labor it saves you money in the end. But still know your limits and that’s half the battle! 👌🏼
@@troysgarage Yes! This is a great video, though. A few years back, I would've just jumped in and after much sweat and swearing, eventually got it done. Youth and energy can overcome a lot. This time, I'm taking the front section with the bearing down to the shop. That only leaves a few bolts to wrestle with - my kind of project!
I was slightly enjoying your pain lol! They claim the carrier bearings are there to take the angle out of the driveshaft yet some identical trucks don’t have it so I don’t understand it. That made me never want to do it 🤣

Yeah, some of these trucks came with a 1 piece driveshaft and some 2 piece. Can't seem to find a reason why.
Great video! You’re doing a great and thorough job on this truck. Little Guy can’t wait for me to take him for a ride!
I do keep thinking of your little guy smiling as you cruise him around town, up to the lake or out camping. Keeps me motivated to get this done!
Nice work!!
Thanks man!
Great job, Troy! 👍😀
Thanks man! Took some doing but I eventually got it done.
Well, I hate to admit it, but that convinced me to just take mine into the shop and let them do it.

Haha. I didn’t know how bad it was gonna be. Thought it would come off easily with my press. I fought that thing for about 45 min off camera.
@@troysgarage lol that’s my life that’s why I was enjoying that it wasn’t me this time 🤣
@TKsGarage405 🤣 Glad I could help! 🤘🏼
