I like how well it held up not many can look this good 40 years later that speaks volumes.
looks like it's been garage kept, because else it wouldn't look this good.
I have a 1990 beaver and its in amazing shape just like this one. I still have not found a rv built the same as older beaver rvs when beaver still owned them
One amazing and beautiful gem! Or,
HA! This is RUclips Time Travel back to 1986 and a fairly well-used six-year-old Newell Coach in near-perfect condition.
I would have loved to see a full tour of this unit starting with the low serial number, more of the cockpit/driver's seat and dashboard, engine compartment, filters area, fuel, and holding tanks, heating, and cooling systems, the undercarriage, the "basement" storage bays. In short, everything about this unit is a gem.
This interior looks much better than the 2016 coach we saw last week. Material was made to last and take a cleaning. No slide but lots of room for moving around..
Love the video! A near perfect example of Newell quality from 40 years ago and for Tom to stay 40 plus years say's a lot about the Newell family ... Cheers and all the best this holiday season
Andrew, thanks for the video. Time Warp! The only way to describe it. Imagine trying to update this one! LOL Nice to see vintage!
That’s a testament to the quality of Newell coaches. Everything was still functioning properly and tight.wow.
Great Newell Museum. Loved the video, thank you Tommy, Andrew and the owner of "The Newell". Glad Tommy is still at it at Newell, what a prize to still have him there. Speaks very highly of the company. Happy trails!
So cool. Thanks for showing Andrew! Always neat to see how much has changed since the 1980's.
This thing has been really taken care of. A real time capsule.
Such a well built coach! Great interview as well!!
WOW, that is amazing!
Andrew always bringing the most interesting content.
Great Job.
Micky C
Love when you show a vintage unit. I had a 84 Country Coach
Awesome coach! Thanks for sharing Andrew...
That is absolutely incredible to see. So what is the future of that Coach did Newell buy it to keep or is it there in the shop to be refurbished by the owner?
it would be nice to follow the journey of this coach.
Awesome how it has held up all these yrs...
I would love to see that restored! Very cool that after 40 years it's only in for service meaning that the owner probably still uses it. Too bad Andrew couldn't get an interview...
So cool! Can't wait to pick up ours 😊
Very cool to see how far these coaches have come.
Whoa...thats a time capsule! I think the oldest Motor Home magazine I have is 1984. My Newell file, dates back to 1988. Funny, Blue Bird Wanderlodge and Newell both loved that "light baby blue and cream" interior color. Nostalgic!
Wow, that was a cool blast from the past. It would be interesting to know what still works and the overall condition of this Newell.
Pretty much everything works on it original, some gauges don’t but they will be repaired/replaced. The toilet is a new toilet and the second owner added tile on the bathroom floor
That was a treat to see. Thank you for opportunity to see that. Loved it.
I love older coaches...Newell has always been top of class....so solid.....Mid 80s Foretravels are really cool to me too...Awesome vid..
Thx you on this blast from the past, would never buy something so vintage ( I’m not mechanically inclined) but soooo nice to see how RVs have evolved.
I saw a FMC rv in Tennessee once , totally refurbished to the 9’s
cover that one ☝️
That looks like one I had seen crawling its way up Floyd hill on I-70 in Colorado. Great to see the older coaches still in use.
I liked the time capsule...didn’t have a Newell, but it sure reminded me of days ago!
Interesting. I prefer the new ones! 😂 What a great time capsule!
Very cool Andrew!
This is great Tom is still there! Very cool.
This is exactly what I wanted to see mate. Early model Newell’s! I would be happy for you to do full reviews & pricings on these great old motor homes! The inside setup reminds me of the GMC’s. Which are perfect & probably be what I buy first to ship to the Philippines. Thanks mate onya; )
I’ll bet I replaced every rivet in my dads old Newell over the years he had it. If you parked it on uneven ground and the sun was on the door side, sometimes the door would jamb. It had a drivers door though.
Go to RV's with Big Bo. They have a 1973 Newell. Take a look. 👍👍
So, as Andrew often inquires, what’s the story on this coach?
For sale? For a museum? Company owned? Privately owned? In for work? In for restoration? What’s the history?
I think the power plant was mentioned. Or maybe not. I missed it anyway. Didn’t hear about the mileage.
I currently own it family brought it there to have so minor work done, and we are hopefully going to keep her on the road for years to come. She needs a little work but all In all she is in very sound condition. She had a dd 6v92 non turbo. Very rare motor
@@austinmyers4420 it’s a lovely vehicle. Very clean.
That's awesome 👌
Wow that’s amazing looks great.
Great story. A 40 year old employee showing off a 40 year old bus.
That's awsome, we are in the market for one, problem is, I have Newell, Prevost taste with a school bus budget, but there is a gem out there somewhere, waiting for me, I just know it.
Humble beginnings
Saw you airport interview today and remembered I never subscribed. What a cool RV find!
If Newell made a retro version this with no slides, it would be great. I could absolutely see myself reading a book by that little table lamp. So cool and thanks for showing this.
They will make you anything you want.
This newel is year older than me. Yes it looks good and be nice to see
Nice Interview Andrew…
Great video but I'd be interested in how many miles, if its the original owner and why it's there at Newell. For service, etc.
Funny how when Andrew said this is a time capsule and that guy laughs
Very cool
This is a beautiful 😍❤️ MotorCoach Andrew
Reminds of some Old Taverns I been .......
A little updating and shes ready to see many more miles
Very nice
A classic, what would the rrp be back then Andrew?
Beautiful coach in amazing condition for its age.
Would’ve been interesting question to ask what it would’ve sold for back in 1980
Two twin beds ,wow however, i only saw one
This is what quality actually means !
Wow ✌🏽 👌🏾
WoW
40 years of beautiful patina.
Old school!
What was the cost in 1980?
How many miles are on it????
We have a 1980 newell also
como puedo hacer para comprarlo y me lo envien a peru?
It looks like it has RTS headlights and taillights
R.I.P. Tommy
Its the disco machine
Did they purpose leave out the mileage ??????
Highway miles is what shakes RV's apart !
This was really nice- wish theyvwould have said how much?
Not for sale
Ask the man how his doors hold up 😂
😬😁💪🏻
I'd take one of those old ones OVER a brand new one, any day... Too many esoteric little things to go on the blink these days!
As long as any QUALITY coach is maintained properly, it'll last as long as someone's caring for it.
We currently have a 1977 Landau Regency 32 that's on the old Dodge Fargo M600 chassis... 440 with a Loadflite 3 speed automatic, MONSTER disc brakes and a Rockwell 4:56 rear end.
Yeah... I wish it were a diesel, or at least had either an overdrive or 2 speed rear axle.
But it's still all original inside and out, doesn't leak and amazingly gets an honest 10mpg regardless of which way the wind is blowing (if I keep it under 60).
Sadly, the original, perfectly functioning Amana "Science Oven" walked itself out of it's cubby hole above the stove about 2 years ago, while cruising down a really wavy part on a highway in Michigan.
It fell to the floor and the door shattered into a million pieces.
I've looked and looked for an exact replacement, but I'm thinking that most motorhomes older than the early Nineties are extinct.
Hey... Happy New Year, gang.
Cheers!
Was this coach just in for service, or is it for sale? I wonder how much dough they need?? Nice coach, especially after 40 years!
Service
@@RVingwithAndrewSteele Wow! That’s impressive. I can’t imagine taking any 40-year old vehicle back to the factory for service...and having them actually agree to work on it. Newell is amazing.
Hey Andrew,
Just Perfect,
V MAN
Aluminum is the secret.
Better make sure it is stored indoors . My once beautiful coach doesn't look like this . If it were a boat it would have sank before it made its maiden voyage . Leaks worse than a screen door
I was born November 24 / 80. lol
She’s a beauty
Imagine building something like an RV that can almost be disposable and it lasts for 40 plus years.
What number is it?
So, I guess a 2022 Newell could still be running strong in 2043!
2063!!
@@RVingwithAndrewSteele You are right! I should go back and edit my math!
thats no ultra lite. its a real rv.
Come on, how often do you see a forty year old Newell? Couldn’t you use better lighting inside?
This should be cleaned up and donated to the RV MH Museum in Elkhart. It would be awesome to see it brought back to it's original condition.
Nice coach…but obviously dated…still has good bones
Project they should do with this; Gut out the inside, make pull-outs, put in all modern day furniture, beds, restroom, cabinets, a 4K TV with 4K Blu-ray player, new cockpit dashboards and seats, touch pad controls. upgrading the appliances. Window tinting and shades to make it darker so the sun does not blind upon waking up. And repaint and restore the outside to make it look like it did during the1980s. It would be like one of those gaming computers with all the modern components inside of a PC case from the 1990s/early 2000s.
All that said, this coach has held up well for it's age.
Does Honda or Toyota make these coaches so we can buy something that is not going to fall apart? I don't trust the American capitalistic companies.
This one is 42 years old. How long would you like one to last? It's in for service, not repairs!
That coach is in superb condition at 42 years old. Find me an unrestored Honda or Toyota of the same vintage in comparable condition as this Newell. You could see how proud that man of the coach. Quality craftsmanship will stand the test of time. This proves that Newell is second to none. I wish I could afford one.
Those were hand-built by people who cared.
какой же он классный! моя мечта!!!
