The film stars Eric Clapton and is written by Stephen 'Scooter' Weintraub and Larry Yelen.
A look at the life and work of guitarist Eric Clapton told by those who have known him best, including BB King, Jimi Hendrix, and George Harrison.
Eric Clapton: A Life in 12 Bars is released in cinemas on the 15th of September in the US.

I just love this man I was growing up listening to his music
Getting old is being who you are meant to be and Eric Clapton is pure class.
When he's not beating, raping, or cheating on his wife you mean?
He admitted being violent to his wife...but, what's the point of trying to draw the light on Clapton's past misbehaviour. He has not been on headlines for years now, we can all changed, and I think he has changed for the better. We all do shits at times, no one is innocent. May it be part of that morbid need to kill and destroy popular icons? just wondering...

Nicolas Morin emotionally violent but beating her no. Verbal abuse is almost worse.
this is classic Clapton playing the character 'Eric Clapton' - he says he doesn't know how to talk to journalists, then does so magnificently!

It's going to break my heart one day when he passes. He's been such a huge part of my love of music and guitars. Hard seeing the greats grow old. God bless you Eric Clapton

It was nice to hear him talk about how he came off as aloof or arrogant. He caught flak for that over the years so hearing him discuss that was very cool. I just saw him in NYC last month and he can still command the stage. Such a class act.
The end - with EPC smiling, and finding his family - is also my favorite part. Bought the CD to hear all that great music over and over again~ EPC fan since I was a kid, fan for life 🎶❤️ 🎸

This man is a inspiration to all of us. He has used his natural talent to entertain and move even the hardest of people. I have been fortunate to have see hi live on a few occasions and have been mesmerised by his ability to make a instrument move a ordinance. He always comes across as a humbled quite guy but also a perfectionist in what he does. I play his live stuff a lot because I am as engrossed in listening to his guitar playing as he is in actually playing it. He is and always will be the greatest guitar player ever. its a shame he has to end as age does take its toll but there is enough material out there so that the future generations will be able to see what a amazing music professional he is and will always be
I grew up with his music and it inspired me to become a musician myself. Utmost respect for EC and his amazing skills and music! Thank you for this doc!

I enjoyed the film but wished they had spent a bit more time on his recovery. I think I feel that way probably because I am also a recovering addict since 6/19/83 and just like Eric I made a 180. My mother told me many years after my recovery that I was like her prodigal son who had went away for a while but by grace came back :)
Being a good musician and guitarist is one thing, ...being a good person ...is another.

God Bless EC. Despite his enormous talent and accomplishments, he keeps the "H" in humility. I doubt he'll ever really appreciate the reasons why so many of us love and idolize him. A special human being.
Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars will air on Showtime on Feb. 10, 2018. A theatrical release is also expected.

Yeah, Interesting Documentary but for me once you've highlighted someone's motivations at various points it's time to move on and deal with the music but I guess that isn't how it works. As you see in this documentary just like on many other occasions Eric try's to point this kind of thing out but in life nothing changes much.
That aside Love of work of Eric Clapton, fantastic. particularly his work in Cream.

Such a good and humble man. His life really was saved , when he excepted Christ as his Lord and savoir. He is a very devout Christian man. God Bless you Eric.
He's right to suggest that those who like his playing, follow his sources and investigate the players he learned his chops from. but apart from the Kings and Robert Johnson, none of the guitarists that Eric ever mentions get me fired up, not even Buddy Guy. Sure he's a boss. But I'm a bit surprised that powerful players who are also very melodic, like Keith Scott, Nick McCabe, Billy Gibbons, Davey Johnstone, Jonny Buckland and David Howell Evans don't get any acknowledgement from old Eric.

He is a man of faith and has declared as much. So Eric would be the first to disagree. But it is a compliment that would be well taken.
I was there or thereabouts. At Richmond, At Windsor; At The Marquee. The Stones, The Yardbirds at the Craw-Daddy & Eel Pie. Yet who was Eric Clapton? Even in these clips of those early times there is no recognition of him from me. I didn't much like the loud "Rhythm & Blues" which, (for me), became "Rock." There are a few exceptions but mainly I don't like it! Not enough melody; not lyrical enough. I preferred "The Shads." Now you tell me lest I prompt you and get sued:- What sort of youngster spends so much of his time just playing the guitar? More! - This riff playing, this piecing together of musical phrases & strands and
then playing around mainly with the tone, - is it really so clever - just because the art of it is given to just a few? Oh please do come on. Humanity is worth so much more than this. We know that it is really driven by a need to grandstand. It's a complex attention seeking device. Let us not stoop to pretending it is any more than that. Isn't it time we started teaching that a proper rounded human cannot spend his whole lifetime blaming his parental upbringing for his shortfalls. We are supposed to be able to self program! Here then we see Eric's very late development. He has been for most of his life a "BACKWARD" boy! That is 3 tenths of a "YOB." What's the chance of his knighthood?
