I'v never seen or heard of clear bases before, what a brilliant idea. Nice job on the paint finish, that washed-out look really dose carry over the ancient, forgotten dungeon look.
@@MiniatureHobbyist I haven’t seen these bases either but keen to know where you get them. Great board too my dude. Would love to see this played on (especially the home brew)

The video game Demeo on VR reminds me so much of HeroQuest! Can you print these with a FDM printer instead of Resin from The Dragons Rest?
@@thefriendlessgamer8552 I'm currently printing out a HeroQuest board from Dungeon Blocks... Creating all the map, modified some of the STLs as well to create new ones! Some with Resin and most with FDM

For ease of storage. Try getting a thin sheet of metal from a hardware store. Magnetize the bottom of the floor tiles so you can stick them to the sheet of metal. When you’re done you can remove the floor tiles and put them in a box. The sheet of metal can be places elsewhere and can possibly be used for other games in which you magnetize the bases. I really enjoy 22 minutes of wafflin', keep it up! Back in my D&D days, I'd use the Heroquest board and Warhammer Quest tiles quite a bit when I DM'd. This would be great to use for that. Now, I have to see if someone made Warhammer Quest 3D tiles. :)
Hey, I also joined the Patreon, but I can't find the prebuilt tiles like what he printed here. Only individual rooms. Did you find them? (if so, where / which folder)?
I love your eye for color and have been doing stuff not 100% but definitely inspired by your methods! Do you have a list which colors were used in each room / corridor etc here?
@@MiniatureHobbyist It is! I was gifted a box in 1994 in my birthday. Used to play a lot but after a while I ended up without a group for it. A curious thing, here in Brazil the furniture from the box was in plastic (but it did miss the skulls) but the miniatures were made of cardboard instead of plastic.
Id love to see battle reports on that worderful scenery you make. As you already play recording the battles may be more work but could be rewarding. Or keep the raw footage for a future, maybe a how to play killteam sort of thing
I play a variety of games that use card tiles. My first project is going to be Star Saga Core Set. I just need to go through my library of stls, and choose some tiles. From 2nd Dynasty, Dragons Rest, Project Mobius and others. And then convert the models to use clear bases.
I am wondering if some brush on rubber like you use to put rubber on tools would help on the bottom of the doors and other things to keep them from sliding.

Awesome video as always. Just wondering if you have seen GaminGeeks video about The Dragon's Rest for HERO quest. He has modded it a little, to make it more modular, and every room is printed in one piece. That way the tiles can be used both for Hero Quest and DnD😊
For those grates, if you want a rusty look, I recommend Dirty Down Rust :) It is ....amazing. I am one of the lucky ones who has bought a FDM printer, and am printing the same board from Dragon's Rest. The tiles are amazing. :) Also, what color did you use for the slapchop of the tiles? :)
Hi i really like the idea of printing a board myself, how much did you scale the original prints down by? also if you printed the boards on a resin printer which oreintation did you print them at? and did you have problems with them not being flat?
I love hero quest I remember when it first came out . This game got me into miniatures ,I would love to have this game in my collection. Is it an exact replica
The only suggestion I would have made is not epoxying down the tiles to the wood. Maybe making them magnetic to the wood instead? In several of the expansion packs for the boxed board, there are tiles that replace the look of some of the rooms that will no longer work for you since they are designed/sized for the board in the box. I saw you mention things like the rotating room, but it would look cleaner to be flush with the rest of the rooms, instead of sitting on top of your board.
Now that´s a really nice setup, you got there! :) I´m at printing and painting all the walls by myself at the moment, after that the minis will folow. Dragon´s Rest is an awesome source of parts!
