- BEST SOUND AT 720p Apache by The Ventures from the Dolton Lp The Ventures play Telstar, played on an Onkyo turntable with a Pickering XUV 4500Q cartridge, directly uplaoded to the PC
Life changing music. My dad introduced me to this band. Can't believe he's gone.
My dad did too! He was in a band that played this in a lot of their sets. My dad's gone too. My sympathies.
Couldn't get enough of my mum's *The Ventures Play Telstar* LP. Played it back to front every single day for about a year. I was in kindergarten and didn't know my ABCs or how to count to 10 yet, but damn if I didn't know every rift on this record! I still do!
The LP record sound "Apache" reminds me of "The Ventures" of the old good days ,when little child. Thanks a lot.
So good and So soothing tune- just unspeakable..Regards for uploading..
Brings back my childhood, everytime I listen to it
I grew up listening to these guys and learned to play my drumset by following along. I also saw them in concert 3 different times over the years! ;-)
Another of those greats of the sixties. I liked this one very much and still do. Through it is not the original version it is the version I like best. it is so well made and performed one can easily imagine an Apache moving around riding a horse or dancing. Very cool really.
Next to Jorgen Ingmann's 1960 recording of Apache, this is the most accurate and best cover!
The Ventures include all components that Ingmann recorded. Every other cover I have heard leaves half of it out!!
Plus Bob Bogle's bass
LOVE the Ventures...AWESOME guitars!!!
Wow! I remember this soundtrack played on the radio while growing up in the 60's. So, it's been decades my friends! Thank you guys for bringing my childhood back and thanks to that awesome tool RUclips for making it a reality!!!
Excellent sound from the original vinyl!! Thanks for preserving this!
Hear those arrows flying ? The best part.
wonderful tunes and playing never could get enough of it.
i like so much the ventures because they play good musics with style.
Reminds me of those great times in the 1960's 🌊🏄♀️🌊🏄♂️🌊🏄♂️🏄♀️🌊🌞😎Surfing LBI in NJ.🎼🎸🎸👍🚤🤠
Gracias Excelente 👍👍👍👍👍🏄🏽🏄🏽🏄🏽🏄🏽
Thank you! This was what I really needed to hear today! I woke up with it in my head, and I'm so glad I was able to find the very version I was looking for!
Great clean copy of this classic song. I used to have an Onkyo 1130 also, and the Discwasher stylus cleaner I still have. Very cool!
OMG Thank You for uploading this version! The only one that gets the mood right if you ask me. Just beautiful. Perfect amount of reverb.
# 1,THE BEST !!!
Gotta love that vinyl!
The "Telstar" album featuring "Apache" is the Venture's top selling album. Each Venture member plays "Apache" in his own style. Bob's bass is active; Mel's percussion is imaginative;l; Don's rhythm attacks; Nokie's lead is elegant: not flashy. The "swishing" sound is done vocally: (I believe-- by Mel Taylor ). It's a solid version.
Often wondered how the "arrow" sounds were produced.
@@jimzeleny7213 When Ventures play live they created "swishing" arrow sound by running fingernail across strings . Creates neat sound.-- I heard something controversial about the Ventures recording that I believe true. Sometimes when Ventures were on tour--other musicians recorded tracks on their albums.
My parents had their greatest hits album and I remember listening to it as a kid.
I like this version of Apache than the other group because it has more rugged touch to it.
Awesome !
Very cool awesome instrumental music!
great old tune cheers for sharing
Esa canción me gusta un chingo mi buen saludos desde México city My Friends 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
sounds good, and i like the record-player!
Perfect
This was the first record album I bought with my own money...still good. I was 12 or 13.
If you haven't heard Jeff Beck play this tune on his live concert albumn, Live at the Iridium with Imelda May,
do yourself a favor and invest $10 bucks for the DVD on eBay. Full 'o good stuff.
No guitar player in the world better than Jeff Beck.
thank you for posting, Apache your recording is flawless.....can you please share with us, more Ventures, music...??? there's many, people that share their, music, but you do a great job...it sounds, just like when my then, 16 yr. brother, played the Ventures, records....
That sounds really good for a turntable.
So clear sound no bullshit
Nice turntable, great music
I have the vinyl as well as the CD. Sometimes I prefer the vinyl...Just do! I got my first guitar because of this album. Every kid wanted to play like the Ventures. Now I'm an old geezer who still like their sound.
Outstanding Stuff Here!!
My day
yo tenia este disco,se me quebro,me encantaba esta musica y aun me encanta.
¡¡¡Muchas gracias!!!
Keep up the good sounds work, Ranger...
Hi The magnetic pre-amp is a Shure
thanks a lot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oooooooohhhhhh memories,,,,
Eu tinha 9 anos.🌸🌻🍄⭐🍀
The greatest version of this tune ever recorded...
Qué diferencia estos si son los auténticos, un oído educado lo percibe.
my heros were the Ventures .... till I heard JIMI HENDRIX
I have a LASER disc of some good old Ventures stuff. I'm gonna post some Desert Rat by Duane Eddy.
This is A beautiful REPRODUCTION !!! THE VENTURES DID THIS ONE THE -BEST- NONE BETTER!!!!
+John Dirks Have you not heard the original recording by The Shadows!!!
Chwish chwish chwish chwish chwish chwish...😁
So that's what's the original record label looked like.
What are you using for a preamp? Do you have a phono input on your PC?
Best ever, beats the UK Shadows !
The shadows were a bunch of posers.this is the good shit stimpy.
I am not sure if I am right, but I do believe the original hit was done by Jorgan Ingman if not the right spelling the right pronunciation.
steve cannon Yes you are right it was Jorgen Ingmann from 1961 the one I remember the most.
+steve cannon +steve cannon Sorry guys, the original was by The Shadows in 1960 staying at No. 1 in the UK charts for 6 weeks. It also reached No. 1 in at least 6 other Countries worldwide including Australia and New Zealand.
+cullodenjacobite Thanks for the info I just listened to the Shadow's version, first time hearing it, a nice version, I don't how I missed it hearing it all these years.
+maynardcat I'm glad you liked The Shadows original. As a point of interest it is The Shadows, with a capital 'T'. It was also voted the Worlds best instrumental.
+steve cannon Interesting conversation. In the USA, on top 40 radio, The Shadows 1960 version never gained the attention as did the Jorgen Ingmann 1961 version. In 1963, The Ventures, who were very popular at the time, came out with the album, "The Ventures play Telestar and other Hits on Dolton Records. They recorded recent hits by other artists and the result was a gold album hit. According to their bio, each member would listen to different radio stations to get the latest hits which they would record. Even though many prefer the "original" hits to a cover, The Ventures played them in their style and we who bought their records referred to each song as being "Venturized" and instead of getting a 45 RPM single, we preferred to buy a album with 12 great song versions. The original vinyl albums, properly cared for and played on quality hi-fi systems continue to give us the playback that we originally sought. Thanks to maynardcat, a lot of vinyl has been preserved for us youtubers.
The most haunting version of this song. Best lead Jorgen Ingman. Best bass line Bob Bogle. Shadows version a distant third IMO.
Fundamentally disagree. Shadows version has very clean legacy tones, especially the bass, with that earth-shaking alder-bodied P-Bass sound. Ventures version is nice however.
"Haunting" is why this version is my favorite! But it is Nokie's lead which helps that along! Bob Bogle is awesome!!!! A much better playing than the Shadow version, even though the Shadows adhere more to Jerry Lordan's original. The Ventures chording changes and fill adding greatly improves the overall effect.
Exactly the shadows didnt have the call back on the refrain where 1 guitar awnsers back to the first.also the drumming is different on the intro.plus no sounds of arrows.check the sheet music it clearly shows it.
Not a patch on The Shadows version, this sounds like it was recorded in a barn.
IT IS PRIŠTINĚ DONE OF US TAKE CARE OF OUR.MUSIC
Listen to the call back on the refrain the shadows dont do it or the arrows.far superior version as only the ventures can do.
I think they did it better with the remake on Golden Greats.
Shadows version wins hands down.
Link Wray made the best version EVER
