Apologies if the sound is low on this video! Unfortunately, I haven't yet had the opportunity to compare the Razer Atlas or Skypad 3.0 to the Cerapad KIN or Superglide mousepads. Which one is your favourite?
I would've never considered a pad like this due to their limited size. I used to have a 114cm/360 sensitivity when I was heavy into FPS, but now I'm sitting between 40-50cm/360. It varies a bit since I haven't been taking FPS a seriously as I used to, but I've adjusted to this much higher sensitivity and have been enjoying it quite a lot. Because of this sensitivity change I'm very close to making the decision to switch from my Razer strider to the Razer Atlas. It seems to be a great end game pad. Amazing glide while still having enough stopping power to not be a ice rink. Appreciate the review and info, ya earned a new sub from me 👍.
Thanks for the awesome comment 🫡 No matter what pad I use or test, I always come back to the Razer Atlas. The buttery smooth glide is so satisfying. Remember to have a microfibre cloth nearby as you’ll need to while it down pretty often. However, the pads lasts forever
I tested this extensively last night. I've been on the Skypad's since launch and grabbed the 3.0 early due to the larger size vs the OG so it's been my main over a year. I used Tiger Ice dots on a Viper V2 @ 4000hz. I ran the Atlas for 3 days exclusively. I ran multiple games with max bot difficulty in MW2. Exchanging out pads after rounds and running the exact same matches. Some game instances were no scope setups and the others were with 300 damage to test tracking with autos and I compared my scores and crazy plays I captured. In terms of speed, they both feel almost identical to me. Micro adjustments\control has the slightest edge on the Atlas. There were just a few instances especially on 180's where I thought, "I'd make that shot on my skypad" but most definitely had some highlight flicks that were extremely good either way. I am a 43cm aimer for reference. My overall take, SkyPad is it. If you're close to a Best Buy they actually carry the Atlas so it's quick to pick up. Today I am trying the final pad which is GameSense Sonar which is a glass control pad and I am super interested to experience this. If I had to make an educated guess, it would be that SkyPad is just hard to beat. My only issue is the original SkyPad had a better textured surface and was crazy cracked playing on. The 3.0 does not have this. I wish they would have made that an option as its was superior to me but smaller.
Thanks for the detailed comment! I also tend to prefer the Skypad. I enjoy tracking with it more in game for some reason, it just feels nicer to the Atlas in my opinion. I wanted to pick up the GameSense Sonar but haven't had a chance as of yet. Let me know which pad you're leaning towards as your favourite
@@VoltaReviews I’m going to post a video of the Gamesense Sonar tomorrow. It’s definitely not for me but can absolutely be called a control glass pad. You can easily see it in the game play. I did 4 games, bots in MW2 hardest difficulty. 2 games with 300 damage to demonstrate tracking and 2 games at 100 damage showing no scoping. You may find this one interesting to review. You’ll definitely prefer the Skypad is my guess. Something about this pad once you use it properly that makes it’s so fun to use.
Good bro, I have a g pro superlight (logitech) and I wonder if it is necessary to buy some kind of skates, since in theory the g pro superlight comes with PTFE skates. But I still feel weird because of the mouse pad, I don't know if I'm not used to it yet or if I need some kind of skates, could you help me please?
Yo, Volta, good review brother. Good to see ya pumping out tha info. Gonna have to get that atlas and see if it's faster than the Game Sense glass pad. And yes it's always nice to have different control factors to choose from on good and bad days. Thumbs up and full view. 🥂
Thanks for the kind words 🫡 It’s for sure nice to have the option of different control factors 🔥 Might check out the upcoming ROG Moonstone Ace too. Hope the Battlefield grind is going well for you too
@@VoltaReviews ha, yea been takin a break from it the last week. But you just reminded me now I gotta play later this morning. 😂 Moon Stone huh? Sounds interesting. Really would like to hear about that one. I have three glass pads now, the Game Sense Sonar, Pulsar Super Glide, and the Pulsar Super Glide Polarity. Each one of these pads have different levels of glide with the Sonar being the most controlling. I just got the Polarity Wednesday of last week, gonna game this morning on it. If ya have an extra dime you should get ya a Polarity. It's pretty slick. Oh and I need to get a SkyPad too.
@@Fatal_Error_Gaming I've taken a break from Battlefield as well. Might go back and have a few next week. There are some great choices out there for hard/glass pads but the thing is, they're so expensive so trying to buy what I think I might use if that makes sense? Then eventually branch out from there
I went with the sykpad because I dont rate oleophobic coatings. It will wear away eventually. The biggest pro for a glasspad for me is the durability. The skypad can be cleaned in a second with some glass surface cleaner and cloth, and its approved by Skypad. Razers will always leave room for thoughts of degradation over time, and with a price tag that matches, just doesnt do it for me. Ill stick with the skypad for now. Pulsar does state it has a microtexture layer too in the amazon ad but I dont know if that means oleophobic or not.
Apologies about the late reply, for some reason I didn’t get a notification. After spending far more time on both pads, I can fully agree with your comment. Still a big fan of a of the Skypad. No matter what pad I try out, even for an extensive period, I always go back to the Skypad. I do like track heavy games which may be a reason but the durability and consistency is unmatched for what I like and look for
This. Buying an expensive glass pad with an oleophobic coating is a really bad idea unlessy you don't mind having to replace them every 6 months or so depending on how much you use the thing. I think the pulsar one is just etching on a special layer. But I'm not certain. But yeah, having a coating, esp something that is as fickle as an oleophobic coating on glass pad is a horrible idea. On every phone I've owned, that I used without a screen protector (like my S22 ultra) the coating would rub off on places in 3 to 6 months.
Good video. Thanks for being honest. I think the issues with dirt like grains or dust and cleaning it all the time is nothing for me. Maybe I will buy a Razer Strider. I hope it’s not so loud…
would love to see more longterm reviews on cloth pads. for example wondering when my venus will kick the bucket. washed it aleady multiple times with regular washing powder and a soft bristle brush. it survived all of it, but i can honestly not tell if it slowed downs it must have been so gradual. same goes for my equate v2. maybe cloth pads just getting so much better these days, that the regular 1-2 year lifespan isn't accurate anymore. obviously, you can't make a lot of them, but a few select ones, maybe on your favorite cloth pads would be nice. i would really also like to know when you make the call to get a new one and what's the deciding factor.
yeah the four silicone feet make the skypad feel awful but its not really the sound or the flexing that bothers me. It's the fact that resetting the mouse feels like slamming your hand on concrete. I put an old 2mm mousepad under it and it feels so much better.
Hey, I am having an issue with this pad. I am in the habit of pressing down on the mouse for better control, and this seems to wear down the oleophobic coating. The pad has developed a slow spot in the place where the front Corepad skate touches it, you can actually see the spot shine when viewed at an angle. This introduces significant static friction that makes microadjustments almost impossible. After an intense gaming session the mouse feet are literally covered with black residue that has to be scrubbed off. I clean the pad and the skates every day with Windex and alcohol wipes, so I know that this is _not_ dirt or dust. The corners of the pad that are unused, have perfect glide and do not have this problem. I am very disappointed with this condition. I have contacted several glass workshops for instructions how to best remove the coating. Have you had this problem?
Good review, mate! I'm not a huge fan of the skypad cuz of the screeching if there's dust/hair, the base they still stick to doesn't make sense...using a full rubber/silicone base is soooo good. I'd still prefer it over the atlas JUST because the Atlas uses a coating that will eventually wear off...personally think coatings are dumb😂
Thanks, appreciate you checking it out! The dust and hair can get very annoying alright. That's why I clean in between rounds to avoid that as much as possible 😅 If the SkyPad improved their base then that would be amazing! Might go back to cloth or hybrid pads soon so I don't become too dependent on glass pads
LOL .. bro, Oleophobic coating on a glass mousepad seems like a *horrible* idea. Any oleophobic coating will eventually wear off. If you've had your phone for a while and used it without a screen protector, try this. Take a wet cloth, and wipe your screen clean. Do you notice that on some parts of the screen the water will stay longer and basically stick to the glass? That's where the coating has worn off. This means the Razer pad will not be anywhere near as durable as a skypad or superglide. One of the nice things about these glass pads is that they practically last forever. By putting a coaiting on it, that benefit goes away entirely and eventually the surface will feel inconsistent On top of that you still seem to be wearing/needing a sleeve for it.. so what's the point of the coating?

Superglide could be interesting. I have an eye on the Asus Moonstone ACE too 🙂
@@OlicheckGamingTech Me too, I wonder will the surface and performance similar to the current offerings 🤔
@@VoltaReviews The Superglide is in a sweet spot between the Atlas and Skypad. The quality is also superior IMO. Especially the silicon base. 🙂
