You cannot clear something that severe by just skincare. You need to TREAT your skin, medically, by using tretinoin or benzoyl peroxide and some times antibiotics. Please see the doctor if you have something this severe, I’m saying this from my own experience.

It doesn't matter how much skin care you do, none of it will matter unless you're taking a proper treatment prescribed by a dermatologist. Take it from me, I've struggled from cystic acne for 8 years, I literally did everything, started from a 3 step skin care routine, then moved on to a 5 step skin care routine, exfoliated once a week, used sacylic acid, hyaluronic acid, BHA AHA peeling solutions - literally everything down to the cooling mask everynight and sure the acne went down but it was still there. It never left, and when I would break out after I think I've finally defeated it I'd go through a downward spiral and hate myself even more. That was until I actually went to a dermatologist and got prescribed antibiotics with Tretinoin. My face literally cleared up in 5 months. I sometimes get emotional and cry when I see how clear my skin is now because I remember all the emotional hurt and pain I through just to get here. It was slow but it's a permanent fix. I'm pretty sure anyone who has acne gets tired of all the skin care stuff they have to do when everyone around us literally just wash their face twice a day and still have wayy better skin. Trust me, get medical treatment first and work your skin care routine around all these products. And don't forget you're perfect the way you are, healing takes time, you'll be okay🥺❤️

Well, not only the dermatologist helps with acne. You still have to undergo a full checkup with a gastroenterologist and a gynecologist. Pass all the tests for pathogens in your stomach, hormones and viruses. After all of these you’re definitely closer to finding solutions. Don’t cure the result, cure the reason. What oral medications did you take? Please tell me, I’m considering going back on accutane. I cry all the time because of my skin and I cry when it starts to feel smooth for a day or two at the end of a flare up just hoping it might be the last break out. The rare occasions where my skin is smooth and not swollen it’s still full of fresh scars from fresh cysts. It sucks so bad.

I think this is decent advice but when dealing with really serious cystic nodular acne similar to the girl that was shown, then prescription medication is often required. If you can’t see a derm, if you’re in the US I would swap the retinol for adapalene (OTC in the USA) and then you’re good to go.
@@boovbrown6491 Retinol is not as potent as other retinoids (eg. Adapalene/tretinoin) and is therefore less useful for dealing with acne, particularly with severe acne such as this.
Guys don’t use salicylic acid with any type of retinoid it will really irritate your skin and just make it worse. Also if you use retinol or any retinoids make sure you ease yourself into using it so your skin can get used to it and make sure you use spf.
that’s not the same for everyone, i don’t have oily or acne prome skin, but i use retinoids for pores. doesn’t cause me any irritation, and my sister who gets bad acne uses both, and it cleared her skin completely

I had severe acne like this. Started at age 20. Never had it in my teens. It was awful. I overwashed my skin drying in out making it worse since the skin produces more oil when its dry. I wore alot of foundation to cover it up. I was prescribed antibiotics by my dermatologist. I stopped washing my face as often and started using oil cleansers instead of drying soaps. And tried ProActive. That worked like a charm. Cleared everything up withing a month. No more medications no more acne creams and soaps. No more dry irritated skin. Whatever was in proactive worked. And adding moisture to my skin. And maybe hormonal changes. It will clear up eventually. Hang in there.

I have maybe 2 or 3 active breakouts on my face at a time (though they tend to leave behind pretty bad PIH), and I feel super self conscious from it. I can't imagine what people with this level of acne feel. My heart goes out to you ❤

Well, not only the dermatologist helps with acne. You still have to undergo a full checkup with a gastroenterologist and a gynecologist. Pass all the tests for pathogens in your stomach, hormones and viruses. After all of these you’re definitely closer to finding solutions.

What oral medications did you take? Please tell me, I’m considering going back on accutane. I cry all the time because of my skin and I cry when it starts to feel smooth for a day or two at the end of a flare up just hoping it might be the last break out. The rare occasions where my skin is smooth and not swollen it’s still full of fresh scars from fresh cysts. It sucks so bad.

I think this is decent advice but when dealing with really serious cystic nodular acne similar to the girl that was shown, then prescription medication is often required.
If you can’t see a derm, if you’re in the US I would swap the retinol for adapalene (OTC in the USA) and then you’re good to go.
Why not use a retinol??

Guys don’t use salicylic acid with any type of retinoid it will really irritate your skin and just make it worse. Also if you use retinol or any retinoids make sure you ease yourself into using it so your skin can get used to it and make sure you use spf.
that’s not the same for everyone, i don’t have oily or acne prome skin, but i use retinoids for pores. doesn’t cause me any irritation, and my sister who gets bad acne uses both, and it cleared her skin completely
People need to go see a doctor for severe acne problems. I don’t like these influencers and random people that gives random advices.

I had severe acne like this. Started at age 20. Never had it in my teens. It was awful. I overwashed my skin drying in out making it worse since the skin produces more oil when its dry. I wore alot of foundation to cover it up. I was prescribed antibiotics by my dermatologist. I stopped washing my face as often and started using oil cleansers instead of drying soaps. And tried ProActive. That worked like a charm. Cleared everything up withing a month. No more medications no more acne creams and soaps. No more dry irritated skin. Whatever was in proactive worked. And adding moisture to my skin. And maybe hormonal changes. It will clear up eventually. Hang in there.

폼클렌저와 살리실산으로는 심하지 않은 단발성 여드름만 잡혀요. 예시로 나온 저 분은 중증이라 저런거 쓰면 안돼요. 글리세린에 민감하지 않다면 피지오겔 추천하구요, 오일클렌저랑 폼클렌저 둘 다 써서 이중세안해야해요. 폼클렌저는 약산성, 알칼리 둘 다 구비해놓고 본인 피부에 어떤게 더 맞는지 써봐야해요. 피부가 너무 아파서 아무것도 바르기 싫은 기분이라면 약국에서 식염수를 사서 비타민E오일이나 호호바오일을 소량 섞어서 마구 흔들어서 에멀전처럼 만드세요. 그걸 분무기로 뿌려서 흡수시키거나 화장솜에 적셔서 팩을 하세요. 비타민E오일이나 호호바오일(유기농100%)은 모공을 막지 않고 피지가 굳지 않게 해서 여드름이 심해지지 않게 하니까 단일 보습용으로 좋아요. 식염수는 우리 몸의 체액과 농도가 비슷해서 흡수가 잘 되어서 화상이나 습진 등의 병변에도 염증을 씻어내고 수분공급용으로 많이 추천되는 방법입니다. 그리고 연고는 단 하나를 쓴다면 트레티노인 혹은 아다팔렌 연고를 추천합니다. 너무 고용량을 바르면 안되고 아주아주 소량을 보습제에 섞어 바르다가 서서히 양을 늘리세요. 피부가 너무 예민하다면 2, 3일에 한번만 바릅니다. 국소적으로 면봉을 사용해 조금 많이 발라도 됩니다. 상태 봐가면서 가감하세요. 오직 밤에만 바르시고 낮에는 선크림을 꼭 바르시고요. 양조절에 실패해서 피부염을 일으켰다면 나아질 때까지 사용을 중지하고 식염수+오일 스프레이로 돌아갑니다. 돈을 더 쓸 수 있다면 티트리100%오일, 벤조일퍼옥사이드, 나이아신아마이드, 산화아연, 칼라민 등을 추가해서 시도하세요. 소량 들어있으면 안되고 단일성분이거나 고용량으로 설계된 화장품을 고릅니다. 국소적으로 면봉에 찍어 바르고요, 모두 독한 성분이니 한개씩만 소량으로 바르다가 효과가 적어질때마다 양을 늘리거나 새 성분을 추가합니다. 효과가 없는 것 같다면 그 성분은 빼버리고요. 살리실산, 혹은 BHA성분은 오일클렌저에만 포함되는게 좋으며 너무 강할 필요는 없습니다. 보습제에 포함되면 안되고, 반드시 씻어내야 합니다. 이미 생긴 여드름이 너무 심하다면, 전용 항생연고(2주 이내로만 쓰고 일정기간 쉬어줄것)도 좋고 하이드로겔패드도 좋은 선택입니다. 돈이 좀 있다면 피부과에서 염증주사를 맞으세요. 저는 여드름 10년차에 저와 제 동생 둘 다 이렇게 해서 여드름을 조절하고 있습니다. 피부과만 비용이 아까워서 안가고 나머지는 남김없이 적용하고 있습니다.

For me it was the sunscreen. Had acne since forever and had a daily skincare routine going, it helped, but it wasn’t until I started using sunscreen every day that it finally all left. Different for everyone, that’s what did it for me.
