Can we just acknowledge the fact that this is a BROWN skin, Black woman that is HAPPY at her job, getting promotions, and establishing great work relationships?!? In a male dominated industry! Like seriously can we talk about it 🗣️✨🥰👏🏾👏🏾
🤗🤗🤗 thank you sis! Honestly I will just say I’m blessed, and the company I work in has a really good culture so that helps . I think that’s actually the biggest thing to consider when Tryna be happy at work ! 😅
Thank you for this video! This has SO many insightful take-aways. I am working on the educational part towards the CAPM and eventually to the PMP. I want to break into it. Grateful for you!
I hope to complete the entire course and get my certification by the end of March 😊 I can’t wait to get a good paying job as a technical project manager
Lovely! Congrats, and keep going you’re doing great! Just to note, pm courses won’t help you to get a technical role, but may help you get a pm role. The ‘technical’ refers to your understanding of the solution you are delivering , not pm principles
@@pitolinmotion I studied Welding and Fabrication Engineering, I believe I can. scale through in the construction and mechanical engineering sector. Thanks once again Ire 🥰
Thank you, Ire…. What about levelling up as a project coordinator ? Like organizing myself to always bring my method to perform wherever I go? Although, I am taking everything in from this video and It applies to coordination role.
Hey girly! Yes for a coordination role the key really is to do end to end delivery or have a part in that really. That’s so helpful for promotion. I’ll try to do a video on that sometime soon !
@pitolinmotion to be honest, everything you've said applies to coordination as well and even transitioning to PM, but I wonder how a project manager can be best served by a coordinator. Besides the project, how to evolve as a project coordinator with a solid base for self that you can take from business to business, providing value with a set of skills that contributes to a smooth project coordination. Thank you for the insight, Ire. Happy Sunday, a d thank you for such an informative video.
OMG, I love ur channel. I'm an Intern in PM and I'm kinda lost with witch path I'm gonna follow and you're helping me a lot (I'm a Communications and Advertising student and never thought PM was an option for my career)
Hey! Amazing, and glad the channel has been of some help :), it definitely is an option 🎉 please make sure you also apply for pm graduate roles if you are an undergrad student :)
Thanks for watching and for the support 🤗 and ah maybe you should be very straight with the project manager, and tell them that you want to develop on this role. They should give you a work package as you have capacity
I am a PRINCE2 Practitioner and I just got the Full Membership- APM-England. If there’s anything you think I could do to get me more recognized here in the UK, please do let me know🙏🏻 I am only 6 months old here from Ghana-Africa☺️
Do you offer a mentoring service? Thank you so much for your dedication to making videos to help people. Your advice has really helped me to establish a role in project management.
Hey there! You are very welcome! And congrats! Unfortunately I don’t do any mentoring. Only consulting - all the details can be found under PerformPM on my website :)
Hi Ire so glad I found your videos 👏🏾 Is there a huge difference between a project coordinator vs a project planner? I've been asked to apply for a role sold to me as a coordinator but now it's advertised as a project planner. I'm not experienced so the imposter syndrome is kicking my a$$ even though I've been asked to apply (great video on this btw ❤)
Hey ! If I’m honest all the entry level roles are the same . Project planner being one, only that you’ll be focusing more on plans. I say go for it. Learn on the job :)
I got the job 🙌🏾 not the one I originally applied for but the project manager created a coordinator role for me to join the team. Your videos really helped thankyou 😊
Hey! No worries. And that will be specific to the industry that you work in. For example if you work in hardware engineering, you could do an engineering course. This will be different than if you worked in app development
What if the product team already does majority of what project managers do because they use a product based software implementation approach not project based please what do you advise how can one be relevant in such space
So product management and project management are two very different disciplines. So gotta make sure you are purely focused on project delivery. I suggest you ask your boss how you truly fit in.

Thank you, Ire, for the new video. I have not yet been able to get a job in any of the project manager positions, so I keep learning and looking.
Keep at it! I’m sure it’s not too far behind. And when the opportunity arises… You’ll be ready 💪🏾

Thanks for the video, can you give examples of courses to become technical.
Hey! No worries. And that will be specific to the industry that you work in. For example if you work in hardware engineering, you could do an engineering course. This will be different than if you worked in app development
@@pitolinmotion Thank you
How do you become a technical project manager? Is there a specific course for that or we need to take the technical courses separately?.
Thanks.
Hey: you’ll need to learn what ever it is you want to be more technical in. So if you are doing cloud projects, go learn about cloud computing etc.
@@pitolinmotion Okay, thank you ❤️
So, people get PM jobs without being certified?
Yerp, It’s possible for some, not all. Not everyone has the same skills to be able to stand out and do that
@@pitolinmotion Thanks ❤️
