    Thank you SO MUCH for this! I didn’t know most of these roles existed. Of course, project coordinator or assistant (for a good project manager) is ideal, but I could definitely see myself doing project scheduling while learning the full scope of a project. Thank you from people who love to learn on the job!!!

Most fully remote pm roles that I’ve seen are experienced role. But you can still have a look on LinkedIn, Reed and indeed to see what you can find

    Hi Pitol! I really like your videos, you're offering really valuable information for those who are interested in being a PM. I have a question, If a person do a course or gets the PMP is this person able to work in any industry?
    Does the company that is interested in hiring you gives you a training?
    Thanks a lot! ;)

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  2 года назад +3

      Hey thank you ! Yeah so PMP is just a cert that shows that you have a good understanding and experience of project management. So like it should be recognised in most industries, but it doesn’t guarantee you’ll get a role. Each company is different: and you’ll need to show them that you have the skills as a PM not just a certification.
      Also will companies train you. Not necessarily. Like being a project manager is not entry level, you will be expected to hit the ground running. You’re unlikely to get training unless you’re in a trainee role, or you’ve asked for training specifically. In terms of formal certs. Once again , it depends on the company. If you make it a term of your contract, you are more likely to get your company to sponsor your certification

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  2 года назад

      Hey there sorry your having trouble, it is a tough market atm: I would say, they to look for opportunities to delivery projects around you or in uni; even if it’s not formal, it’s good to demonstrate that you have. the skills to be a pm. • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  Год назад +2

      Hey there. So scrum is a type of agile delivery, so yes and no. Some projects use scrum but not all. That being said the theory of agile is used across most projects these days, so I say apply far and wide: at the end of the day you’ll need more than the cert to get the role anyways: you need to be able to demonstrate that you have the necessary attributes in you to get the job done :)

    Hey! I have 4 months experience in an entry level role (still there) and currently doing my PRINCE2. What’s the probability of me getting an APM role elsewhere? Do you think I need to wait a few more months? I also have a related degree

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  2 года назад

      Hiya! There is no hard rule here. Really depends on how much actually project experience you are getting and whether you can prove that you can do the role of a pm with the skills and knowledge you have developed . If you think so then go for a full PM role! Some people need more time to get experience under their belt. Some don’t. I think the degree doesn’t matter as much if I’m honest: they care about what you can do, not what you can read

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  2 года назад +12

      Hey hun ! Thank you… so tbh it depends on how much actual real project experience you are getting in the role. But if you are Getting experience and you are able to get more hands on expertise within that role, for me it would be one year and I’ll start looking at junior pm roles. Or assistant pm roles . But tbh no harm in looking earlier

      Freelancing isn't too common for entry level roles. If that's the path that you're interested in, gain experience in one of these roles that Pitol mentioned, then you'll be a highly sought after asset. Especially if you specialize in something like scheduling.

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  Год назад +1

      Not always. I’ve seen and helped people get roles with minimal experience. You need to make sure you are seeking the right kind of roles . And also, just because they ask for it on paper doesnt mean that’s what they are gonna get: If you can tick off the other bullets on the job spec and communicate that well on your cv you can defo be in with a shot. I think that’s what most people find difficult to do

    • @teeh.4754
      @teeh.4754 Год назад

      @@pitolinmotion I think that's what I have been finding to be the most difficult thing. I have transferable skills but I am not communicating that effectively. Also in the US(probably the same in the UK?), they have had so many layoffs that the pool of candidates even looking for entry-level roles has increased. And some of these people have years of PM titular work.

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  Год назад +1

      Ahh yeah tbf all of those things are contributing factors. Pm is very competitive atm and in the US certification is kinda really important. I suggest you defo do cert to help you stand out

    Wat abt Junior Project Manager role??
    Can you please tell abt this role

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  2 года назад +3

      Hey so a junior pm is just a pm but in a junior level. Some organisations actually make the differentiation between a project manager and a junior project manager. But in many organisations this differentiation is not made and instead people are working in project management roles at a junior level without actually being called ‘Junior project manager’ so really it’s just the same as a project manager, but mainly working on lower scale and cost projects. I wouldn’t call it. An entry-level project management role because a junior project manager is responsible/accountable for enter into delivery of the project, whereas these entry-level rolls or not..

    Hello, you beautiful Black Woman. It's funny that you spoke on the PM roles. I am Sr. Level Quality Engineer at a large Aerospace company, I am looking to change careers and I have a meeting with one of the Program Manager 3 at my company to discuss the role and what I need to make the change.
    The way I see it Quality deals at a 100-foot view, systems engineering see it from a 1000 foot view, but PM see it from a 10,000 foot view.
    I have the technical, but I don't have it in PM. I enjoyed your video. I will surely be subscribing.
