    Let's discuss some of the key facts when decising on which smartwatch to buy. the Mobvoi TicWatch Pro costs $249 while the Samsung Galaxy Watch is $349, that's 40% more, or $100 more out of your pocket. However, less is sometimes more! The better value is sometimes the item which costs LESS BUT gives you MORE..get it?

    To be honest, I love the Samsung overall design better. It is more versatile and easy to match clothing with different bands. I owe the Galaxy Watch 46mm and it works really good whether I wear a suit & tie or just go to work with my sports look. I got 4 bands that I could swap out really quick.

    What did it for me was the back of the watch, and the bezel. While I give up apps, I get a much nicer feeling watch on the wrist, rather than cold metal. And the bezel is BEYOND convenient so you don’t dirty up your screen when your hands are busy or filthy.
    I’ve given them both a try, and they are both worth owning in my opinion

    What about the intense LAG the TicWatch pro has? I feel like the UI can never keep up with me. Phone calls don't show up on the watch till around the 3rd ring, right before it goes to voicemail. Google Assistant doesn't always respond despite having a good connection. Is the Galaxy Watch laggy like this?

    I just gave up my gear s2 and bought a ticwatch pro. Before that I used a Moto 360. I use a Galaxy s7 edge. I have no complaints about the speed of the ticwatch, it's very responsive. Going from Tizen back to Wear OS had a little learning curve but no real problem. I do miss the rotating bezel, that was a nice feature but the Wear OS apps selection is more complete. The price definitely made a difference. I was able to buy the ticwatch right from the mobvoi store for $199.
    I'm sure I would have been happy with the Galaxy watch but I'm happy with the ticwatch and have $100 more in my pocket.

    Having owned a Galaxy watch for one day now, I haven't yet formed a full opinion of the potential pro's or the cons of the watch, perhaps both the firmware and apps available will improve, but I agree Samsung should have finalised things like Bixby before releasing the product. Sadly not many companies do, in the rush to get products out to market, despite their being potentially unresolved issues. To be honest I bought into the brand name, not having made any product comparisons first. Maybe putting allot of faith in Samsung! and hell yeh I LOVE the bezel. At 03:30 you mention the bezel is sometimes activated by your sleeve, the solution would be to just disable bezel wakeup mode. It seems as though you didn't fully acquaint yourself of all available settings and features, before posting your review.

      I'm quite aware of the setting.i would have preferred a sensitivity setting as well. For example, how many clicks from the bezel before it wakes,so this would eliminate the accidental wake ups

      @@TheJabberTech While I agree, that it's a potential problem when tight sleeve cuffs can accidentally activate via the bezel, the option to disable the feature was overlooked in your review, I only commented on the problem, because disabling bezel activation, resolved it for me. At least Samsung included it as an option, want for a better solution. Adding additional activation clicks, chould be a future firmware inclusion, if enough users came forward with the suggestion. It's good that users can thrash out the pro's and con's of products here. Your review indeed helped with my purchasing decision.

The buttons feel great and the rotating bezel is a nice feature but I turned it off from waking up the watch because it does get triggered easily. I bought the second ticwatch and it sucked. Battery life, health features, just sucked. I would do some comparisons with a standard device, HR strap, pedometer etc. Even though the pro has the gimmick for the screen, I am leary about the health features. All devices vary, but the tic s sucked, even using othe programs. Bought a note 9 and a Galaxy watch. I too like them alot. I left iOS for Android last year and the Note was the device that sealed the deal. I tried the Gear Sport, and liked it, but battery life was just ok. Health was ok, and I could swim with it. Not the tic, or even the pro. That makes up for the now $70 difference in price, in part. Sleep tracking was also improved, and that makes up some more. Integration with Samsung is also worth something. I would not feel bad about not getting the tic watch, the galaxy is a solid piece of hardware, that, just like iOS, Android, et Al, will have troubles and need fixes. But it is excellent, and the swimming feature moves it up into Applewatch territory. I just tried it yesterday and it worked pretty well.

    How exactly do the colors make it stand out as a smartwatch? The tic watch literally has nearly the SAME exact appearance just it's black. And the Galaxy Watch HAS an all-black version. Disagree with your notification comparison. Comparing the newly purchased TWP to my Gear Sport, notifications coming through on the Gear are perfect; WhatsApp, hangouts, texts etec. On the TWP sometimes they don't show up, sometimes they show quicker than the Gear, sometimes later. It's a lottery. Although, this could be because the notifications are coming through to the semi-essential mode screen on the TWP as opposed to an always on display. But the point of this watch is to use the second display. Either way I don't like. This was the final straw; in addition to losing real waterproofing, not so great vibration motor, more tedious method to transfer songs, slightly weaker battery than the Gear Sport, and occasional lagging coming out of semi-essential mode.
    The TWP is a beautiful looking watch though. The second display is amazing. I would have kept it if it was 5ATM even with all the downsides.
    Also much easier to get watch faces with the Gear. Not sure who has more though.
    Svoice/Bixby is a disgrace.

    • @TheJabberTech
      @TheJabberTech  5 лет назад +1

      Thankfully Samsung is always updating the Tizen software and they have improved the notification system, but at the time of my video, my statements were accurate and to a certain extent WearOS will always be better at notifications because of how it's an extension of the Android OS, Tizen will handle notifications from most popular apps well but try a less popular app and see how that goes. And for the speed of notifications coming in when wearing multiple watches, I think its just how it is. i wear two watches on most days and one is usually faster than the other, and one gets it, while the other doesn't etc..I think android doesn't know what to do sometimes.I agree, it's a crap shoot but thankfully with one watch, they always come in.

    Absolutely must agree! I have my Ticwatch E for nearly year, and just brought Galaxy from Costco that am returning!! Main bumper is Bixby crap on Samsung... Also it's so much easier to use Google Assistance to set Calendar Events, even txt my wife in Polish - FULLY AUTOMATED ONLY WITH voice from Ticwatch.. What a negative surprise how limited is overall Galaxy vs. Wear OS stuff.. huge disappointment!! Also that rotary dial must say is bit archaic.. much easier just to double tap on my Ticwatch, and with 1 slide to browse through all app rather then in 2 steps over skipping to next page on Galaxy.. forget it.. i WON'T pump 300 dollars toward immature product as Samsung turns to be.. I'm debating if not wait bit longer with upgrade to PRO as my TicWatch E is just fine.. What I miss from it is IP68 vs 67 of TicWatch, as well as better screen, and battery...
