  • Terra Nil continues and you'd best get your thermal underpants on because we're venturing to the top of the planet as we attempt to restore the polar region!
We arrive and there's quite a lot of permafrost around which we have to break through using some lovely lava. That's right, we go to a polar region and introduce lots of hot magma! This allows us to build geothermal plants to provide power to all of our machines.
Eventually we have enough greenery to then start introducing things like beautiful tundra and algae-covered rocks, and after a little bit of increasing the temperature (just temporarily) we welcome back migratory birds and butterflies!
We soon bring the temperature back down and the snow begins to fall, which means it's time to get the animals sorted out, which includes... PENGUINS!

    ----------------------------
Terra Nil is a game about transforming a barren, lifeless landscape into a thriving, vibrant ecosystem. Turn dead soil into fertile grassland, clean polluted oceans, plant sprawling forests, and create the ideal habitat for animals to call home. Then recycle your buildings and leave no trace that you were there. Reclaim the wasteland.
    A reverse city builder
Use advanced eco-technology to purify the soil, creating plains, wetlands, beaches, rainforests, wildflowers, and more-then efficiently recycle everything you've built, leaving the environment pristine for its new animal inhabitants.
    Different maps every time
Procedurally generated landscapes mean no two playthroughs of Terra Nil will ever be the same. Plan your build around randomized, challenging, and unpredictable terrain, including snaking rivers, mountains, lowlands, and oceans.
    A natural ebb and flow
Each region of Terra Nil progresses through phases, with the ultimate goal being leaving pristine wilderness behind. Levels are not about infinite growth, but rather balancing and nurturing the environment before leaving it in peace.
    Experience tranquility
Lush hand-painted environments, relaxing music, and an atmospheric ambient soundscape make Terra Nil a peaceful, meditative experience. When you're done, use Appreciate mode to bask in the natural beauty of the ecosystem you have restored.

This game looks really good, and very satisfying! I do like how you spent so much time scanning for caribou (reindeer), but didn't think about putting down the flash freezer to make more snow lol

Wait... that thing was for snow as well as ice?! I just thought it was for ice! Bother!

It was a delight watching you fix up this polar region. As for the predators... every eco system needs them, like it or not. Without predators, things fall apart. I imagine polar bears would eat narwhales (in place of seals, which weren't available) so that's where you might have succeeded. Anyway... I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with the next biome.

    this planet i weird
pinguins belong in the south polar region and polar bears in the north so even if you spotted them they would have starved they eat seals not penguins

It's not Earth though, it's another planet, so maybe on this planet penguins love the North!

I struggled so much with this region on my first run, so it was quite therapeutic to see you figure everything out with such a pleasant attitude. 😂 Somehow I managed to turn the lava rivers into water and was unable to figure out how I managed that my second time around.

Why did you focus on the tiny corner with not enough lichen and snow? 🤣 there was a whole map!

    • @TheGeekCupboard
      @TheGeekCupboard  Год назад +1

But nowhere with just plain snow next to the lichen, it didn't work with the tundra. We got there in the end!

It was so simple... just a little more snow... for a, hem, "polar" region, and with so much resources he didn't made it.

I'm a bit confused. We did make it! It literally snowed, lots of times!
