Damian...Just wanted to let you know that you are doing a GREAT job teaching your viewers how to play like the legendary T-Bone Walker, the man who inspired B.B. King to pick up a guitar! It doesn’t get any better than that! Keep on pickin’!
Thanks Damian. I really enjoy the Jump/Swing Blues. My late Father used to love it. I took up guitar about 5 years ago - I’m 58 now & I’m very sick now with Hemochromatosis, but I can still play at home & your genre of music makes me feel good.
Thanks so much for checking out the lesson 3 Card Monty. :) So sorry to hear about your hemochromatosis, but I'm glad you're still playing and feeling good when you play. Sounds like you're doing a great job being mentally stronger than you may physically feel. I admire that in a person. Keep on rockin' my friend DAMIAN :)
always diggin T Bone Walker. Thanks for sharing this..pretty Tye kitty..appreciate you ..and keep these videos coming..and simple for us that are trying to get to the next level on guitar..best to you sir...
Thank you for checking out the lesson. Glad you're enjoying the "Ultimate Rockabilly Guitar" DVD. I really appreciate the support. It means a lot. :) Keep on Rockin' DAMIAN
Many thanks for this lesson. Finally have had time lately to sit down and do guitar practices and your channel is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Thank you again for great T-Bone lessons.
Wonderful, as always, and especially helpful to see those big fat chord diagrams in this one-- you, your lessons, and your ongoing inspiration do not disappoint!!! 👍🙏😊
@@Damianblf I forgot Muddy Waters and of course B.B.King. Mr.King had a unique way of utilizing jump blues chords! It's a artform picked up by E.Clapton!
You just had to mention you were in Florida. I'm in Maine and it's cold and raining. Lol. Very good lesson. Good chords to get familiar with. Not used to that G6 shape so it will be good to get the change smoothly.
Damian, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Ilove your attitude, your approach and your generosity. I plan to purchase your Rockabilly course very soon :)
Hey, Damian! I just screen shot that nice G13 chord diagram @ 6:34 & dragged it to my desktop. Every time I drop in to your lessons, I come away with a couple of nice practical takeaways. There's a great version of The T.S. with Texas Fats on Tenor Sax that's a real blast. They harmonize the intro & do some great lines together that really Jazz it up. I'll see if I can find it and send you the link...bet you'd enjoy it. Nice job on this lesson. Your tabs & chord diagrams are so well placed!
in a perfect world, I'd be able to download the tab. but I can do eleventy screen caps and print them out if that's what it takes. appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
Does download or dvd include pick direction? Thank you, who wouldnt subscribe to such a great teacher. Ordering download soon. Hoping for that pick direction!
Another great lesson, and you sound so good on that Epi. Do you string with flatwounds when you play this style of music? I love a set of flats on my Dot, but am curious to know what you prefer. Keep on rockin'!
Thank you snailspace I have a few of my guitars strung with Thomastik-Infeld flatwounds, but my Dot is strung with Elixir Nanoweb 10-46 gauge. The humidity here in Florida is horrible. Using Elixir's helps me get a little more life out of my strings. :)
So the "T-Bone Walker Chord" omits the root (G) on the low-E, voices the Major 3rd (B) on the 5th string, Flat 5 (C#) on the 4th string, 9th (F) on the 3rd string, and Octave 5th (D) on the 2nd string? Do I have that right? The chord diagram was shown just for a second or two, and when I paused the video it was covered up.
Hi JazzboxBlues & Matt I was using a Boss FRV-1 '63 Fender Reverb pedal. It's one of my favorite pedals. Thanks for stopping by the channel and checking out the lesson. Cheers DAMIAN

You need to re arrange sound system, bombshell or unity into a Jump Blues. Hell, a whole album of re worked punk covers would be really fantastic.
Now that would be fun to try! :)

Operation Yvy is Great!!!!
Heck Yeah. Love me some Operation Ivy! :)
Great band....love them to
nice sentiment
The first chord in the first example, what is it? 7th with root on the the 4th string?? Or a 9th?
Does download or dvd include pick direction? Thank you, who wouldnt subscribe to such a great teacher. Ordering download soon. Hoping for that pick direction!
Sorry, the course does not include pick direction. Thank you for subscribing. Much appreciated. :)

love your lessons , how can I get to print these tabs ?
I dig my SuperBeetle, is that what you used to record this lesson?
Hi Mark
No I didn't use it for this video. But I do enjoy the amp a lot. I'm glad I picked one up.
The "off-beat Boogie" must have inspired early Reggae -- "Rock Steady", or what would later be referred to as "Ska".
How did you learn this guitar style
This makes me wanna play ska punk infused with t-bone licks. it could work. maybe Rancid are doing that now. Tim Armstrong could make it work I bet
Great! What's the exact name of the first chord?g,c,e,b
In example 1, the first chord played is a G6.
@@Damianblf that's what I thought. Thank you! The lick works well on G7 and G9 too
Does Tye the Kitty like RockaBILLY?
what amp are you using?
Great lesson! What effects are you using on this lesson?
None...
Matt Rogers no delay or slapjack of any kind? Reverb?
@@4bangerdeanIf it's not ambient reverb from the room, maybe he used some reverb from the amp.
Hi JazzboxBlues & Matt
I was using a Boss FRV-1 '63 Fender Reverb pedal. It's one of my favorite pedals.
Thanks for stopping by the channel and checking out the lesson.

3:24 Tab 1
Guitar model?
That's an Epiphone Dot
🇬🇧👍🏻
Huh?? It's called a G9 chord and it has no root. Why is then called a G9 chord??? By the way, what a sweet little kitty you have!
TBone has always been a Hero to me.
And Yup!!
That there's trademark TBONE.
