But I would never buy my Horology retail at a store, I buy Sotheby 30-40% less used, they last forever, I only lost money on 2 out of 18 watches over about 15 years, I have a good net profit. Think like this. Rolex is BMW assembly line, the Ferrari is like Breitling, nice but still assembly line. Then you have Koenigsegg and Paganini, hand made one at a time, thats Horology, Jager LeCoultre, Patek Philippe, Audimars Piguet. 85% of the cost is labor, 600+ moving parts assembled by one person, it takes weeks, then disassembled for testing and put back together again. They go up 10-15% in value every year because labor always goes up. In Europe and Asia and NY places like that, a mans watch shows who he is because they don't wear jewelry. There are many places where the watch your wearing, means much more than the car your driving.

I own a Rolex Subc and even something like a standard Daytona is like $10k above that, the price he was quoting for it sounded like a good deal (although i didn't do currency conversion)

It really depends on the person. They probably don't care that much about the value but alot of people would still be impressed that he went outta his way to get them a fancy gift for Christmas. For regular ppl It's kind like if your got you a $40 box of nice chocolates. Sure $40 bucks that much and you may not even be a big chocolate fan but almost everyone is going to be pretty impressed by the gesture and still enjoy and appreciate the chocolates.

This video was my introduction to Michael. It kept popping up in my recommendations and I kept dismissing it. I thought ‘I don’t want to watch some flash git splashing his money around’. I bought a watch from Seth 2 or 3 years ago--he's great! I did my comparisons to decide what I wanted by going to shops on Rodeo, then when I decided what I wanted, Seth got it at a great savings. I was only in LA for a short visit and he was great working with my schedule--got me a different band I wanted which is better for regular wearing (and so I can keep original band unworn) at no extra charge--he was just great all the way around. Will definitely go to him next time I want to buy a watch! Great guy.

He bought quite a few 36 mm's. If he's buying for men, Day Date 40's and Datejust 41's would have been way better. I'd appreciate the gift if I didn't know about watches, but it honestly doesn't take too long to find out about watch prices. Used watches are risky purchases because scratches heavily devalue them. On top of that, most of the watches that he's looking at are older models, which on top of the scratches likely bring down their value. I get that there's a bit of an attempt at flexing for his viewers, but at the same time, he's getting finessed hard and anyone who knows just a bit about luxury watches would know that right away.

Warranty for a year than probably thousands to repair. I would buy a Rolex or omega or Patek Phillips but with money I can not think of buying used. I love how Micheal shows and displays his wealth. I think he is humble in a way that he enjoys his deserved luxury and shares the expierneces. And he has a great personality. And his fashion style is unique and mad respect for that, Adam always asks Micheal what he is wearing in a somewhat sarcastic manner, and Micheal has to find a way to explain himself. But also respect to Adam for the cutting and production. All in all I think they are a dope ass team and I love watching their videos.

He's not really buying them gifts out of the goodness of his heart, he's buying their favour. Future deals with those execs will far outweigh the price of the watches. That's why Adam doesn't get a watch.
It's also potentially illegal. He's clearly documenting gifts of excessive value and states that these are to reward them for "deals they will do for him in the future". The UK Bribery Act, for example, is quite aggressive about activities like this...he better be careful about where these "executives" are located.

I think Adam did get a watch.... He might surprise him with one but we'll see. Also I don't think it's necessarily a bribe because he already has done deals with these execs it's more of just a display of gratitude like sending a thank you card. He has a net worth of almost a 100 mil and frequently does million dollar deals with other millionaires. I don't think a little 10k watch he gave them last year is going to affect anything in the future.
Love this video, easily one of my favourite videos on the internet. Just to think this was the start of the Adam Seth friendship - and for the both of them I think it means a lot. Producer Michael and Seth as he said aquantances for years, however after this video it really turned into a great friendship. Seth would latter say, this video and the ones that came after did his business the world of good, really pleased for him.
I have promised myself that like Adam, when I purchase my first Rolex, I am traveling across the world to see Seth to purchase it. Looking forward to that day.

This card is not really all that amazing in that it is more of a debit card than a credit card. I say this because Amex calculates what you are capable of spending and gives you unlimited spending until they feel you are past what you can afford. This isn’t a real credit card because you pay them the full balance every month. So instead of a true loan it’s an advance. Actual credit cards aren’t anywhere near that high because you can decide to not pay them for years and get by on minimum payments like 50 a month on 10k loans. Amex all in all is a glorified debit card because they won’t let you spend more than what you can pay back immediately and you do essentially pay them back immediately. While on a real credit card you can make 5k a month at your job and spend 50k that month and they will let you pay over the coarse of years so they are taking massive risk and Amex isn’t.

1K/33K is only 3% discount. That is pretty close. As a watch guy in business, he has to know whether a watch is higher in demand or lower in demand. That alone warrants a 1K difference of price. His price is pretty good. I buy from grey dealers like him all the time. I would haggle harder for sure though.
If he's in the business of pre-owned (grey market) watches there is a huge margin and he can pretty much make prices up on the fly, especially if someone buys several pieces.
