It is more logical to say it in the Garage because they can sort out the problems of understeer and oversteer as well as how the springs and dampers react going on the curbs. Lewis' interview with the BBC (Nurburgring) : "The car had too much understeer so we adjusted but then it got worse and we had too much understeer so hopefully the balance will be ok for qualifying" What happened he got pole.
grosjean's passes were as clean as possible but since last season everyone keeps an eye on every little mistake he makes and everyone blames him before they acctually look at the situations as how they happend(reffering to the chicane cut by grosjean after hitting button just to avoid another crash)
I'd agree with you to a point, what he said applies more to the beginning of the year. But of Merc's 3 wins; one wasn't from pole, 2 were from pole, but again one of those was Monaco. (I'm a Merc fan)
Never realised that Jenson had so much excuses but when I look back this year so far: "Loads of understeer guys", "Caterhams were holding me up", "I suddenly had no more power", "We didn't have the right balans", "I'm not used to driving down a straight and your team-mate wiggling his wheels at you and banging wheels at 300kph" haha :)
Jenson Button doesn't make excuses all the time, he is just telling the press what went wrong because he has a lot of bad luck and this year the car isn't the best. It must be frustrating for him to the one of the best drivers and not to have a car which can win races. Look at Canada 2011.
