It was the four guys who started the band and then Graeme Duffin, the guitarist, joined. He was a little bit older than the rest of the guys so it was probably due to image that he has always been known (amongst the fans) as the unofficial fifth member of the band. Graeme Duffin has been asked this question in the past and I got the impression from his response that all five members are happy with things the way they are.

Marty is a very talented man, we all know that but I really feel for him, he is just an ordinary human being the same as the rest of us, If we are truly honest how would we handle the money and fame?. Some very talented people are built for stardom, others stay out of the spotlight because they are not, they are just like us and Marty is one of those. I absolutely love it! I was quite disappointed to hear that the singer in this video doesn't think he has a young audience :(
Rhys Jowett I think they were joking about only appealing to older people :) and they did also talk about their fans now taking THEIR children to see the Wets, i.e. I think they appeal to all generations. Marti has also just finished playing The Narrator in the UK tour of Blood Brothers and he has said in interviews that he meets young people at the stage door who tell him that it's their first visit to the theatre (a lot of school trips go to see Blood Brothers - it's on the National Curriculum), so I think he probably is reaching quite a young audience, even now. :)

Strange that there is no trace of his speaking accent/pronunciation when he sings. I wonder why that happens, not just with him, but with most singers from Jamaica to the Bronx -- speaking accent "fades".
They were such a great band it’s a shame they fell out and split up the way they did.
