All the containership companies in the world have grown tired of the enormous cost to pass thru the canal which continues to regularly rise. On average it cost $250,000USD. So, 2 or 3 South American countries see this as an opportunity to make some quick cash so they have designed and are building a trans South American highway which will go from the Atlantic side of the continent to the Pacific side with a major container port on each end. The ships will unload & trucks will haul all the containers to the port on the other end of the highway where they all will be loaded onto another ship. Yes, it is not quite as quick as the canal but it will be way way way cheaper. !
Yes basically right now no ship yard/owner will want a ship not being able to be accomodated at this canal. The economic sense of having it larger than the canal would be negated by the fact of it having to go around the canal basically..unless they ensure that throughout its lifetime it wont have a voyage near/through the canal
there’re many container ships that cannot pass through the canal, they are more economical ploughing other routes. Today’s container ships can reach over 24 000 TEUs while those Panamax ships only reach 15 000 TEUs max. Before the widening, it’s less than 10 000 TEUs.
@@raymondkalama190 you're wrong. Very wrong. MSC, Mærsk, ONE, APL, Hapag Loyd, Evergreen, OOCL and a bunch others has ships which cannot AND all but one mentioned is currently building ships which is too big for Panama. Mærsk has bought Hamburg Süd so in that case they are still acquiring ships which is too big. They all have a smaller class of ships which handles those loads going through there.
Shame on you, Maersk Wellington is a relatively small container ship. only 254m long and 32m wide. the world's largest is MSC Irina 400m long and 61m wide
Başlığın yanıltıcı kardeşim. En büyük gemilerin genişliği 60 metreyi buluyor. Panama kanalından geçebilen gemilerin genişliği en fazla 33 metre olabiliyor
Ships loaded with junk you don’t actually need to be buying. If people just kept hold of tech gear for many years instead of buying the latest “must have” phone or whatever, the world would be a better place.
With the first ship, you could see Canal and Locks. That is Panama. The second ship I don’t know because I stopped watching, so you may be right on that one.
Constructing a canal like this is not an easy joke. Panama canal planned by French..but due to the environment many french engineering persons died. They gave up the program. Then The Americans took over on a basis of a condition that is about 100/ years they will do the maintenance and collect the investment.. Panama country accepted and Americans fulfilled, the present Panama canal.. now Panama canal is fully under the control of Panama country..now river water problem..but they are managing.. present condition persistence is a great achievement.. All the best..
That model ship and lake surrounding is superb. Drone shots are excellent.
Nothing like the biggest container ships !!!!

The Panama/Suez Canal beats simple logic/imagination as to why the routes expectedly
for the bigger ships can not be expanded.
Good footage

!
Keep dreaming.
Amazing video the ship are very bigger cross the way
These are Panamax ships which are the largest container ships allowed in the Panama currently
Interesting, but how did we get from "How .... cross the Panama Canal" to a tug barge operation and then to the Bosporus?
Now show us the world's largest container ship.
Some Indian RUclipsrs have done good videos on Panama canal and Suez canal. They are from Tamil Nadu, India.
Note how lightly loaded she is due to low water, the prop is half out of the water.

So those trains move the ship? And what's the big white structure? It says "No Smoking". That makes sense.
the locomotives keep the ship away from the walls. The boat moves with its own propulsion.
This is the original part of the Canal, before the Expansion

If the ship is wider than the locks, they gotta go around. MOST cargo ships built today WILL fit through the locks.

What would you do with all the workers in the tech industry if they get fired bc we all decrease consumption?
Worlds largest container ships are 22 containers wide and 23 bays long not these smaller ships in video 13 wide and 12 bays long ?
Maximum permitted container ship in Panama canal... it's ok..
Not very accurate as the Canal is 1200 foot capacity and the modern big containerships are now 1300 feet!
Terusan panama yang sangat canggih. Dan efesien bagi kapal2 yang mau jalan.
Thumb down for fake advertising of this video
That’s the old canal not the bigger new one.
This is not the biggest container vessel.
Why don't they make the canal bigger?
It’s not just a canal it has locks (huge gates that hold water ) that store n release water as land is not level. It’s like taking ship across a hill,
Pretty impressive😊
Biggest ships never cross the Panama canal
They do
cuidado, a rota bioceanica está aí

Aku dari Jambi 😊
Interesting
500.000 $$
Warning: If you watch this, your feed will show 1000+ useless Panama Canal videos from here to eternity
this is not panama this is istanbul
Is Panama

When you want to make a video about ships, but fails miserably.
