Few years later penny was decently healthy this season and in 5 weeks put Up 671 yards and 6tds, penny is a beast when healthy and I pray he can stay healthy

SDSU Rashaad Penny can score whenever he has the ball in his hands. He's a threat in the run game, pass game and return game. He can do it all. He was the only player to rush for over 2,000 yards last season with 2,248. Also, his 8 career return TDs proves why he's one of the most dangerous return men in all of college football.

I agree. I really liked Pumphrey, but Penny has prototypical NFL size and speed.
Man Penny is SPECIAL. I have season tickets to the San Diego State Aztecs. He is the best player I have ever seen at the program bar none. Wow I'm going to miss him a lot. Juwan Washington is a nice player but he's no Penny. He is a once every 20 years guy at San Diego State. It may be a long time before we see anything like that again.
Not only is he not a reach at #27 overall in the 1st round. He's an absolute STEAL. I saw him as a top 10 - 15 player in the draft and I think that is what he will be when it is all said and done. People just look down at San Diego State and don't respect it (unfairly so I think). But Penny is so much more special than even what we normally have there. If he was at Penn State, Ohio State, Alabama, USC, Wisconsin he would have been a top 10 pick easily. I think he is that good. He has size, strength, speed, vision, moves, return ability, catches out of the backfield and huge production.
I think he will blow up the NFL. People will look back and wonder why so many teams passed on him. Because obviously they made a big mistake. He has a chance to be Offensive Rookie of the Year. If he stays healthy and they put a decent run blocking O Line in front of him the sky is limit. IMO he's just as good as Barkley. The size and speed is actually pretty close and fairly similar. I think Rashaad is more instinctive in the open field an has better moves. He will juke you and run around you. Barkley will try to run over you. Don't get me wrong I think Barkley is good too. It's just Penny IMO is actually more instinctive in the open field in space.

Completely different player. David Johnson shows truly remarkable vision, patience and skill. He sort of glides like a speeded up Chuck Foreman. Rashaad Penny is a great, speedy breakaway runner, but he displays none of the finesse of David Johnson.
You just have to look at the reception totals and stop the comparison right there

What Seattle just did is brilliant. 1) They drafted a durable RB with no history of injury, with less wear and tear than any other high end RB in the draft. 2) A proven kick and punt returner. This actually helps them two fold because they can insert Penny as Kick Returner and leave Lockett as Punt Returner. This takes pressures away from Lockett and allows him to focus more as a wide receiver. So theoretically with less on his plate Lockett should improve as a wide receiver this year and Penny and Carson can battle it out for lead back.

Kenneil Smith there is a massive difference between good blocking and good vision. Look at Trent Richardson. In college, he had an offensive line full of first round picks, but when he got to the NFL, it was shown he couldn’t cut back to save his life

Richard Sherman saquon isn’t better than him...this guy was the best return man and he also led CFB in rushing with 2000+...he also rushed for 1000 as a back up the year before...he’s better than saquon jus didn’t get the recognition because he plays in a lesser conference

Fast forward 3 years after all the adversity he’s faced with injury just had his best season yet in only 5 games, 671 yards and 6 TDs is his stat line in 5 games, his season stats are 749 yards and 6tds , I pray he stays healthy now, and Seattle resigns him and gives him the ball more
