    Also if it lumpsum then should I invest in the beginning of financial year like 1st of April or 1st wk of April just like we do in case of PPF or at the end like in Feb-March or in the middle of year?

    Thank you ET Money for this video. Please also bring out the disadvantages of NPS to the public.
    Some of them are: If you want to retire early let’s say at age of 50. Then NPS expects you to beg, steal for 10 years till you become 60 to start your pension.
    Secondly, The pension does not increase with inflation or pay commissions unlike the old govt pension scheme.
    Thirdly, there is a forced 40% purchase of annuity from the corpus. The person cannot choose what to do with his own money.
    Thirdly, National Pension Scheme is not a pension actually. Its basically a mutual fund account, wherein you can only buy annuity when you turn 60 from some pension fund providers. So why not just invest money is a mutual fund rather than NPS and then if you need you can invest it in pension fund, you will have flexibility and liquidity throughout.

      If your company follows a CTC structure and if you opt for corporate NPS effectively your taxable salary is reduced. Which indirectly means that you are saving tax on your entire contribution which is over and about 50K Limit.

      Hello Ghosh L. : Are you retiring in the next 1 year and going to pull out the NPS corpus?
      I ask this because a similar question was asked by a 38 year old yesterday and when I said, "Brother, you have another 22 years to go to pull out money from NPS. You have seen a lot of data on this RUclips channel. Now you tell me what you think you should do?". He didn't need to answer me back :)

    Thanks for the video at the right time. I was looking to open nps account last weekend and it's quite a cumbersome process. Thanks to et money app it looks like it simplified significantly. However I found no step by step guide in opening the account and enabling sip for nps in et money website or et money youtube channel or any other articles or videos from other financial gurus. Though the UI is intuitive I was looking for info like what are all the docs needed to open nps account. I don't have a cheque leaf. Is that okay? Is it possible to create a video for this?

    What is With Return Purchase Price and Without Return Purchase Price?
    How to know our nps account is related to with ROP or without ROP?

    • @ETMONEY
      @ETMONEY  2 года назад

      These terms are not associated with NPS but with annuities. You can refer to life insurance company websites like ICICI Prudential, HDFC Life, SBI Life etc. for more details on these terms.
      So very simply - the purchase price or return of purchase price refers to the value of your investment corpus at the end of the accumulation phase (in this case being the NPS corpus or part of it) with which the annuity was purchased
