- Be sure to watch this video if you are female and you want to visit Pakistan soon, or you are visiting Pakistan soon because I tell you how I felt as a woman travelling Pakistan.
Firstly, I wasn't travelling Pakistan as a solo female traveller, I went with my friend Tom. However I did spend a bit of time in Islamabad on my own and I have travelled to many different countries on my own, including spending a lot of time in India solo I did think a lot about what it would have been like on my own.
Overall, the main point I want to make is that I left Pakistan feeling completely confident that I would, and will, travel back to Pakistan by myself.
I did experience stares in Pakistan but this happens in many countries and is very understandable however the stares were not malicious or sexualising, just interested. I felt very respected by the men in Pakistan and loved speaking to all of the women in Pakistan.
The one thing that did slightly overwhelm me in Pakistan was being asked for selfies, I took a lot with locals and was happy to take them with Tom but had I been on my own this might have been too much but I probably would say no.
In terms of how to dress as a female in Pakistan, I had my legs and shoulders covered at all times. I didn't feel like I had to have my arms covered or my head except for in mosques. I did buy 2 local style dresses which I enjoyed wearing but I didn't feel like I had to and I was ok in a t-shirt and baggy trousers.

Men talking to men rather than talking to the women. Pakistani women mind when men talk to them in the presence of their male companions . Also in the islamic teachings it advises against unnecessary interactions with the opposite gender.thanks for Great videos

As far as not talking to female or shaking their hand is very much cultural. In our culture if you offer to shake hand of a female then the female will not feel very comfortable with that gesture. Similarly in the presence of male companions, it is rude to talk to female first because it might be assumed that you are interested in female. If their are female then they will talk to you first then another male. It is a cultural thing, and people needs to be educated in this regard.

True very well said very well explained trust your own intuition when accepting someone’s offer of tea or drink inside their home or roadside shops or anywhere in Pakistan just like you will do anywhere in the world but let me assured you that majority of Pakistanis are very honest reasonable and respectful to deal with specially when they are dealing with foreigners specially European or westerners but you can never be 100% sure of the people there will always be some bad eggs that’s why I will say you make sure that someone you know or lots of people are watching you accepting someone,s offer and going to their place this way God Almighty forgive if somebody or someone has bad evil intentions just yell for help people will come like army commando they will be the first one to interfere and teach that or those people a real lesson inshallah for not respecting a women a guest specially a tourist from overseas .
We never come close to women in first visit so she can feel safe and feel free.

Haha Oh yess We Pakistanis love to stare at anyone who is looking a bit different to me. Even if you are a Pakistani and you wear something out of the ordinary or have a very "outrageous" hairstyle, we Pakistanis will look. But we will just look to soak everything about that view in. I have done this my self when I was younger and it has happened to me as well. One thing I will tell you about Pakistanis is that 95% of the times we don't intentionally want anything bad for the person. But we are used to "no-boundaries" culture which I find really cool, hilarious, funny and unique. You obviously have to get used to it. So if you have met a person on the street and you get talking, now this person wants to know what brand shirt you are wearing, it will be acceptable for both if he went ahead and just checked the tag of your shirt to see. Nobody will mind that. People don't mind physical contact or joking around with strangers either. I guess you just have to get used to it. In England when I see some older Pakistanis crossing the street while a car has stopped for them, they will not say thank you to the driver - TRUST ME INSIDE THEIR MIND THEY ARE VERY THANKFUL. They just don't bother. Visible etiquette is not really part of the culture as such. I wish this bit could change though. Oh and also I as a Pakistan REALLY HOPE WE STOP THROWING RUBBISH ON THE STREET. Things will change :)

You’re 110% correct on your observation. Normally people do not see women sexually in public but surely they stare because you come from different region and look different etc. Problems are in every region of the world but in general men do not attack women in Pakistan... yes inside homes there are issues but not publicly.

Many people's complaints about foreign visitor specially female that they dont wear proper dress because we living in society where female properly well dressed means shalwar qameez and dupatta
