Yes I use the automatic transcription, download it as .srt file, and use VLC to burn them on the video itself. The automatic transcription is also much cheaper, and i do take a few minutes to review them.
Very important video. I live in Germany, speak only English, all (ALL!!) settings are set to English and I still get a German crazy caption. This is unbelievable! I even made a video yesterday to find some experts. Many greetings, Matthias

Thank you, Justin, for reminding me why captions matter and giving a source that we can send our video to and have them do the subtitles for us...expensive though, and it takes time for them to do it. There is another simpler, faster option, though, as long as you have a script already written, and it's completely accurate... From your RUclips video, click subtitles...click add...select autosync...paste in my script...select edit timings...and then select Publish! Easy peasy!

Here is a subject which is very personal to me but until now I have not been able to know who to voice my concern to. I am hearing impaired and have been for most of my life. I love listening to music but I have found more and more over the years that captions have been "faded out" Surely by doing this RUclips is discriminating against those who are hearing impaired (I could say more but I choose not to. ) I mean no bad feeling in my response except to say I personally think that ALL videos should be captioned

Subtitles are also good for videos where people talk too fast. Just mute the sound, turn on the subtitles. Stress levels and heart palpitations drop quickly soon after.
Might you have recommends that are cheaper? Further tip -- you can download the RUclips .SRT file, and upload that to your video on Facebook and other platforms where you're using the same video.

Let me try again! :D They charge YOU $17.50 which is $1.25 a minute, but they will turn around and pay their employees far less a minute. 14 minutes would take at the least 30-40 min for a transcriptionist to type (but on average about 60). They're typically ending up with less than minimum wage for their work, which is technical and requires a lot of writing and language skills. Please do not give money to gig transcription sites like these and instead find an individual transcriptionist to work with who will give you far better quality of work, and pay them the $1.25 yourself if it is important for you to have someone else do your captions and you're willling to pay.

So how come as a content creator or RUclips manager I cannot access the same feature to apply subtitles to a video (without wanting to or needing to turn on Community Contributions)?
Is there a way for me to make fancier subtitles similar to Power of Terry? A good practical use of fancy subtitles is if you want to add some notes at another part of the video that's not just the bottom of the screen.
Sometimes when I upload a video on RUclips in order to get the auto subtitles for some reason they don’t get created. Any reason that I could improve that? Thank you

I have tried everything to get subtitles on my video, its 50 minutes long. is that the problem? I cant get automatic subtitles on long videos?

You mean the YT subs? On any video with subs, click on the cog icon, subtitles, options, and increase the font size!
