- I had made a stool for my "Man-Cave" aka 'Garage' out of standard 1 1/2" ABS plumbing pipe and an old tractor seat. I had numerous requests to show in a video, so I made one today. It is quite an economical project (depending on where you get the seat....I got mine for free as I live in a rural area where they are quite common and readily available).
Parts needed
8 ea - 1 1/2" ABS 90 degree elbow
8 ea - 1 1/2" ABS "T" fitting
10' of - 1 1/2" ABS straight pipe to cut
**Additional 4' of - 1 1/2" ABS straight pipe if you want a foot rail (like red stool in video) with 4 extra 90 Degree Elbows**
1pc - 6 1/2" square piece 3/4" MDF
1pc - 8 1/2" square piece 3/4" MDF
1ea - 1/2" x 1 1/2" (any length OK) Carriage bolt with nut and washer
2ea - 1/4" x 1 1/2" Carriage bolts
8ea - # 8 x 1 1/2" woodscrews
1ea - old tractor seat - can use anything you want here, but I liked look of tractor seat.
ABS Solvent Cement
Misc.
Paint to suit your tastes.
I like your video. I have several tractor seats that I have decided to attach to some inexpensive wooden bar stools with the swivel. I do like the pvc structure and may paint it silver/pewter for an industrial look for my husbands shop. Thank you for the detailed video.
