Love the content. I wanted to report where my findings differed as I play in the new set from Japan. The Raging Bolt deck is kinda terrifying. It is a pokestop deck. It dishes out 350 damage a turn regularly. Raging Bolt is probably an A tier deck. Great Tusk Control is rampant and is winning City leagues all over Japan. Great Tusk is great. Dudunsparce makes Tinkaton Deck actually work. Tinkaton Deck is not an A tier deck, but it looks like a fun deck. Dudunsparce is good. Torterra is tanky but lack luster. Grass needs something more. grass is dead still and both Torterra and Whimsicott are bad. You missed Cinccino.
I've seen this mentioned so many times but Klefki already exists, just play that. Bonus points for stopping Miraidon, Rotom, Radiant Greninja, Chien Pao, Moltres V, Squawk, etc. It has niche use cases with trapping specifically but that's about it
@@Jestemkioskiem the issue with klefki is stopping your own basic abilities is too big of a hinderance to warrant playing. Why do you think there arent any successful klefki decks in our current format? You need access to your radiant greninjas, lumineons, etc..
Raging bolt is a combine of Raikou and dinosaur, same as Walking Wake and Gouging Fire, that's why they are ancient Pokemons, pretty popular now in VGC
For real I had to check the comments and see if I was trippin. One has a worthless ability, the other one can literally OHKO zards as soon as you slap it down. I'm not saying future or grass will be good, but I am saying those 2 cards play completely differently
I'd say a 1-1 (maybe 2-2) Lilligant Vstar could really boost the setup of Torterra. To grab absolutely everything you need to attack on top of Grotle's searching should make it one of the most consistent decks out there.
Iron leaves saves Future Box. Miraidon accelerates grass energy to other miraidon, reboot bot spreads tons of grass energy, if you only have 1 grass energy per miraidon to attack, you don't lose any energy because you can slap exp share to a few random support pokemon. Once your field is fully covered in grass energy after 1 or 2 miraidon attacks which already does around cramorants damage for 1 energy. You can slap down a bunch of iron leaves that pick up all of those energys, an can do 280 with enough iron crown and future booster energy capsule (1 shot all vstar). It also hits zard for weakness. You can also use iron valient to soften up pokemon for iron leaves to come in, and you don't even need to switch back out of valient, because iron leaves does it for you. Techno radar is also the perfect tool of iron leaves, as it grabs 2 future pokemon and puts them into your hand and not your bench. It saves reboot bot, loss of energy from boss, and more. The only problem left is draw power, so maybe add research or mew ex to help it. I love this card, and I think it can save future box.
Darkrai Vstar stonks may go up because it can get it back with its ability. That means you technically have two prime catchers… that’s utterly terrifying if you run a roaring moon deck.
How good would Master Ball be if it put a Pokémon directly onto the bench? I honestly don’t think that it would be game-breaking, as cards like Charizard require evolution to trigger their ability. However, it would be great for cards like Pidgeot ex and the likes.
It wouldn’t be good…. Things that require being played from your hand like Lumineon V , won’t be able to activate their ability. It’s better that it puts the card in your hand… Unless you mean it can play a stage 2 straight to the bench…. That would be great!
@@jamesctcg Oh man, that would be just VILE. Maybe it would have a condition to it like not being playable turn one (or two if they wanted to be harsher).
Love the video and your takes! I agree with your point about Great Tusk mill being limited by not being able to play disruption supporters - but your point about Iono being bad for mill is countered completely by hand trimmer. Back when Durant was more popular, sure you could just build up a big hand and then Marnie your cards back into your deck. Now if you try that against Tusk, hand trimmer goes brrr and you are going to be discarding a ton of cards. Hand trimmer with Tusk is going to be insane. And regarding Snorlax post rotation - mill decks absolutely destroy it. Also, Snorlax can easily have a 20+ card hand, so it can't really ever rely on playing hand trimmer. It's not gonna be good in that deck. Eri will though for sure.
The thing with hand trimmer in control is that you have complete agency on when to hand trimmer. Sure you have a big hand but you also don't need every single card in that hand so you can hand trimmer away the dead cards. If you have a bunch of useful cards, just don't hand trimmer then.
With Iron Leaves I feel like the obvious use is that it OHKOs Charizard and it’s somewhat splashable because of the ability. It won’t see much use outside of KOing Zard so the low damage output doesn’t matter. You wouldn’t put Drapion V in bad tier after it was released, would you? Gouging Fire also seems like a possible beatstick in Charizard, T2 260 without needing to use Max Belt is pretty strong and could find a meta place depending on what else settles in Tier 1 & if you need the extra dmg output over Entei V. Also a strong attacker to have on board if they TM:Devo
for the thumbnail, you could slightly increase the size of the raging bolt ex (so it fills more space), just make sure none of the important parts of it get cut off! Hopefully this helps
so dose the relacanth let you use only your pre evos moves or cann you use your own and if so i can see some nesh uses with arc piles like how memory cappsle was used
you're so pessimistic man, enjoy the new effects and don't be so harsh on these cards, some them have some potential but you just say "bad" and don't even analyze them. i bet at least 2 pokémon you put in the "bad" category will see play
I feel like iron treads is being overlooked. If you have 2 iron Crown in play plus a future capsule you are one shotting iron hands ex for only two energy plus you get to save an energy to a benched mon. If future box ends up being good I think this will for sure see play.
I kinda don't think future is running metal energy for this thing especially cuz future doesn't have any real problems with hands and you can just ko it with a real attacker anyways
Maximum belt will be good in zard japan list have 95 percent of lists has it auto wins gholdengo because they kill 1 prizer then you ko back immediately ko chien pao t2 and just really good card for zard even though prime catcher is strong

Flutter mane is a super hard counter to lost box, stopping both comfey and cramorant, especially with escape rope rotating.

Good one! Had a small chat at Pullman with you after day 1 of Liverpool, graet to see you!
Was nice to meet you!
Mist energy stops roaring moon. It's very relevant
Enhanced hammer is coming back doe...
I looked at the card list for the set so far, and even though it's a stage 1, marcargo would work really well with walking wake ex
salvatore+banette ex+radiant sneasler+brute bonnete+new stadium i i think it will gonna be spicy deck.
The stadium that lets you find tools could work, to get that ancient capsule.

or 2 reboot pods for future but thats probably too clunk
Thoughts about the new Cinccino? It can deal extra damage for each special energy in play, and it's seeing limited success in Lugia decks in Japan

Oof whoops. I was wondering why such a seemingly terrible card was being played in Japan, thanks for commenting this.
Tina also
iron hands also
Problem is, Temple of Sinnoh and that one supporter that discards 3 special energy are still in the format post-rotation.
I feel you were a little harsh on some of the new cards. Easier to say "My bad" when your underate than overrate I guess.
