100% agree. The rerecording of this song sounds absolutely awesome. Her voice is so very much stronger, and the instruments are recorded and mixed better. What a song though, one of her best IMO.
Lyrics: And it's a sad picture, the final blow hits you Somebody else gets what you wanted again You know it's all the same, another time and place Repeating history and you're getting sick of it But I believe in whatever you do And I'll do anything to see it through Because these things will change Can you feel it now? These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down This revolution, the time will come For us to finally win And we'll sing hallelujah, we'll sing hallelujah So we've been outnumbered Raided and now cornered It's hard to fight when the fight ain't fair We're getting stronger now Find things they never found They might be bigger But we're faster and never scared You can walk away, say we don't need this But there's something in your eyes Says we can beat this Because these things will change Can you feel it now? These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down This revolution, the time will come For us to finally win And we'll sing hallelujah, we'll sing hallelujah Tonight we'll stand, get off our knees Fight for what we've worked for all these years And the battle was long, it's the fight of our lives But we'll stan up champions tonight It was the night things changed Do you see it now? @@nozzlelife3658 Extremely tough question to answer. Good music usually is the one which consumes listener. You don't wanna switch till it ends - that's a clear sign of good music writing. Try for yourself. If you are listening music on youtube use strictly "lyrics" videos. Listen "Love Story" and stop it whatever you want, did you felt you missed something? Then listen "Shake it off" and stop it too whatever you want and ask yourself, did you missed something? You can stop a ten times per song and ask the same question to yourself. I think you will find, "Love Story" works as a whole piece of music you need to listen till the end to have completely satisfactory impression. On the other hand "Shake it off" is a bunch of repetitive and non connected sections of music. You can stop it whatever you want, and you will not feel you missed anything. There is no intrigue, not mystery, no romantics, that's a bad song.
I'm excited to hear the updated version of this once Taylor starts to re-record her masters. Cause her voice is much stronger now and perfectly fits this song.
I'm crying because of the realization that the power of this song will also change because she's on her way doing it. "Because these things will change. Can you feel it now? These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down."
"Change" And it’s a sad picture, The final blow hits you Somebody else gets what you wanted again And you know it’s all the same, Another time and place Repeating history and you’re getting sick of it But I believe in whatever you do And I’ll do anything to see it through Because these things will change Can you feel it now? Notice the powerful difference in the words used in this slight alteration of the chorus, as opposed to before. “It was the night things changed,” instead of "these things will change." She uses the word “see” instead of “feel.” Both of these comparisons show that a “change” has actually taken place, rather just a hope or feeling that one will occur. “The "night” she is referring to is when she won the Horizon Award at the CMA Awards in 2007. When she began writing this song, she knew her dreams would come true, but she let the track rest for a while, waiting for a special moment that could signify its finish. After looking out into the audience and seeing Scott Borchetta (Big machine record's president) crying, she finished the track the next day.
@@Danieleinad3 I'm a newby Taylorite...can't be a Swiftie for a while yet...but trust me I will be...I'm watching and listening everything...sometimes I forget to go to bed..cause I can't stop listening and watching
It's 30th August Let's See How Many Legends Love Listening To This Beautiful And Amazing And Underrated And Timeless And Iconic Taylor Swift Masterpiece.
And it was better than the original. Honestly, Alot of taylors earlier songs were incredibly out of tune. So I’m glad she’s doing the Taylor’s Versions to kinda revamp those old songs.
This song is such an empowering anthem! The lyrics resonate with anyone who's faced adversity and fought their way to succes.it's a reminder that setbacks don't define us;it's how we rise from them that matters.
Her records speak volumes about the matter. Clearly something in her content matters to countless people around the world. I got respect for the lady. She keeps it classy. Keep it up Taylor.
XTNT I get you because change is real. That's a fact. Fans just have to grow with the change. You can't hold on the old you or the old this or the old that. And you know people change and it's not changing in a bad its just changing because that's what happens in life. Your still the same person because where your heart is, that doesn't change. And I don't think people quite realise that they've changed too knowing that they've seen this Taylor they must've changed in that time.
This song was my anthem when it first came out. I had been denying my sexuality for years, but this song gave me the courage to change all that! So thank you Taylor for creating such a meaningful and powerful song!
I will be a swiftie forever and always even in your wildest dreams, I have been a swiftie since I was 6 so 5 yrs now and my fave singer will never change she is amazing lucky you if u have been to a concert it must of been amazing I have never been to her tour or I have never met her it makes me cry but I am sure I will go to a concert someday when I am older time flys just as well as sparks fly so I guess I will see her in future when it only feels like 10 weeks later when I write this but for now I have a blank space for other plans sadly. I am pretty sad but I guess I just need to be happy by shaking it off. only true swifties like me will understand most of this!
I wish I’d gone deep into Taylor’s music as a teenager, I was struggling so much back then and now in my 20s I’m discovering so many songs I know I’d have loved back then
@SadiesStuff I love how you say ‘ baby version’ instead of ‘grandma / mommy version’ lol. Just like people say miss the ‘Old Taylor’ but it’s actually the ‘Young Taylor’ lol
For a long while I've seen this song as a sort of prototype for Long Live, but I can see the relation to Only the Young as well. I think musically it's more related to Long Live but thematically it's closer to Only the Young, if that makes sense.
To the people who think Taylor has changed, she hasn't, There's no old Taylor or new Taylor, she's just moved on to pop. But the song "clean" isn't so "pop", don't u think? I know I miss her curly hair times but I still love Taylor heaps. Swiftie Forever 💞
+Mafe Garzón Bueno yo también extraño sus rulos dorados. Aunque más que eso extraño cómo era ella antes del año 2012 cuando cambió radicalmente y su pelo lo volvió lacio y cenizo oscuro...como su alma :(
I sang this exact song at a singing competition when i was 11. And as soon as I was about to sing the long "Hallelujah," the music stopped, and my best friend asked me to continue singing, and guess what? I won! Great memories, thanks Taylor!
'Ere we go again... I'm a Swiftie. What I was saying is that this song isn't about love and romance like her haters say, but about courage, strength, and, well, change.
Lol, why don't you try listening to Mean, Ronan, The Best Day, Diary of Me, Brought Up That Way, Eyes Open,Long Live, Never Grow Up, Safe and Sound, Sweeter Than Fction, The Best Day and The Lucky One before you judge Taylor.
Oh my god I hate it when people do this. Guys. Cherry Prower is a Swiftie. She was saying that Taylor's songs aren't just about love and guys like everyone says. That she actually writes meaningful songs, too!
"But there's something in your eyes says we can beat this" I really hope your mom gets better soon :( We love you Taylor and we are always here for you!! ❤️
Only just discovering Taylor Swift, and now I see what all the hype is about! This song ROCKS! Love her! It took "Midnights" to get me into her back catalog. I'm a Swifty!

I think because it sounds kind of corny and generic. Don't get me wrong, it's catchy with uplifting lyrics, it's just not a song that has any unique or memorable qualities. It kinda sounds like something they'd play at a school assembly as kids are filing into the gym lol
@@jtw.111 I think because of people's taste the time it was released. The one that made people realize Taylor Swift is the Love Story and You Belong with Me (here in our country it became a very big hit, i remember the time when my friends and classmates used to sing those songs a lot)
It’s unreal how underrated this song is. My friends don’t believe the bullying at our school will stop. But I do, and this song shows me that anything can change. Thank you Taylor! You are showing that it WILL change. Things WILL get better. And those kids WILL get what they deserve!! 😄😁😃☺️
I love Taylor. She proves you don't have to be immodest to be a huge star. she also always sounds authentic, singing from her soul, good for you, Taylor, and we're lucky to have you!
Guys people who wish taylor would go back to country, I doubt it will happen because she's growing and discovering new things. Everyone changes and they all have different interests. I think she's good at pop, so let's wait and see what the future will hold. It's good that she wants to expand and push her limits. SWIFTIES 4EVER
I just love Taylor so much! She's a beautiful and kind hearted artist with a flawless voice that touches your soul. Taylod really hasn't changed, guys. Only her genre of music changed. But she's still the same funny, sweet and quirky Taylor we all know and will forever remember. Her legacy will be remembered for generations to come. Swiftie 4 Life 💌💗💖
Hello, Swifties, Change is Taylor Swift's first true pop song. This is where Taylor Swift began making pop songs when this song came out in 2008. Change later spawned other Taylor Swift's pop songs which includes The Story Of Us, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (her only pop song with a crossover appeal), I Knew You Weer Trouble, 22, Everything Has Changed and The Last Time. 22 is my personal favorite of all her pop songs and I hate I Knew You Were Trouble. Sweeter Than Fiction is her only pop songs of 2013. So I kinda wish Taylor Swift makes a Sweeter Than Fiction music video. That would be pretty cool. Anyway, Taylor Swift is 24 today. So I wish all of you to say happy birthday. Change is such an underrated pop song and the genre is pop rock. I wish Taylor Swift should make more pop rock songs like this one or The Story Of Us. If only Taylor Swift's pop songs should go with this song's routine or the Story Of Us's routine instead her pop crap like I Knew You Were Trouble. Maybe her fifth album can save her pop rock songs. That would be pretty cool if her fifth album will be her first all-punk rock album with the 90's alternative rock routine and full of heart. Anyway, happy birthday, Taylor Swift. Keep making new pop rock songs when you make your fifth album. :)
***** Yeah, I agree on that. Fearless and Speak Now was alot better. I wind wish pop stations can play her country music this year. So who's up for a Taylor Swift MTV marathon? I do.
Okay, I love Taylor, country or not. But to me, her first album was basically the only country, Fearless had some pop and so did Speak Now. I love her songs country or not! I think the lyrics in her songs are amazing! I really don't want her working with Max Martin :( but I just DO NOT want her nice acoustic songs to turn into dubstep(I knew You Were Trouble was okay with dubstep but PLEASE NO DUBSTEP)
Swiftiebrat I agree on that one. Taylor Swift needs to not make more dubsteps. She can tackle new genres like rock. But no dubstep pop. Trust me, dubstep can easily kill her country music career forever. But it would be nice if Taylor Swift retures her country career and move her country music to pop this year. I want that to happen.

"Change"
And it’s a sad picture,

But I believe in whatever you do
And I’ll do anything to see it through
Because these things will change

These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down
This revolution, the time will come
For us to finally win
And we’ll sing hallelujah, we’ll sing hallelujah
So we’ve been outnumbered
Raided and now cornered
It’s hard to fight when the fight ain’t fair
We’re getting stronger now
Find things they never found
They might be bigger
But we’re faster and never scared
You can walk away, say we don’t need this
But there’s something in your eyes says we can beat this
'Cause these things will change
Can you feel it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down
This revolution, the time will come
For us to finally win
And we’ll sing hallelujah, we'll sing hallelujah
Tonight we'll stand, get off our knees
Fight for what we’ve worked for all these years
And the battle was long, it’s the fight of our lives
But we’ll stand up champions tonight
It was the night things changed
Can you see it now?

Who here is sick of "old taylor" and "new Taylor' ?? She's just changed her genre ...she's still a great person

This song is so underrated!

Agree. I really enjoy Change, 22, and The Story Of Us. I wish Taylor Swift can make more songs that are not country like this one. :)
*****
Yeah, I agree on that.
