  • Quick Riding Lessons: Using your leg correctly can help your horse understand so many cues better, as well as get them more relaxed and focused.
I coach a lot of riders to help them become the most effective communicators with their horses, and the issue I address in this video is one of the most common errors that I find people make.

This video is absolutely what I needed to hear! I knew it was a problem I had, but I hadn't thought about how sensitive it was actually making my horse. Thank you for this video!

thank you!!! quick question i was working my horse today and he did not want to concentrate on me while i was lunging him he just wanted to concentrate on everything else that was going on what can i do to change this?

The key is to use your stick to get the ribcage soft. If they start to turn inside out and lose focus, you raise your stick and bump them in the belly and get the nose back on the circle.
Changing directions can help if they're just acting like an idiot, but if you rush them through it, or do it too much, they'll quit thinking and just do it every time as a knee-jerk reaction and it'll defeat the purpose.
I think I touched on it a bit in this video, but I need to do a video dedicated to getting the horse soft on the lunge line. ruclips.net/video/q9I9tQaXaNw/видео.html

I’m a newbie to riding.. But I have an issue with getting the horse to follow my leg aid. I tried with 3 different lesson horses who are well trained to move with kicks.. but no matter how many time I kick, I can’t get them to move, and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong😓

How many times are you kicking? Often people try to kick hard once or twice and then stop. Horses who are trained to go from the kick often require a gentle, rhythmic kick that progresses until they walk. It's more like fanning the horse with your legs, instead of jabbing them in the ribs abruptly. Hope this helps.
