I know Rei being a clone of Shinji's mother adds a lot of complexity to the story, but seriously... I genuinely wish that she was her own person, so that there wouldn't be this whole stigma that Shinji and Rei being together is considered as incest... I believe these two could really have found peace together, despite living in such a post-apocalyptic environment... Thank you for this lovely video by the way, it reminded me how much I admire their relationship together, even if it can't extend to a romantic one. :)
Kevin Lopez two years late but, just here to tell you you probably would have the same issue if you literally live in a tube and know there are infinite replacements of yourself, not having any social experience helps too
Evangelion's Red Book says Rei is more of Lilith's clone than his mother's. According to the book, Rei's DNA structure and blood type do not match to Yui's. The incest is there since we feel Rei is part of Shinji's mother, but science says another thing :v
I hope they do end up together when the 4th Evangelion comes out... but some tells me that Anno will screw it all up as always. Oh well, they truly deserve one another.
