Other than the Smith Gym and overhead Lat Pull, what are the main differences between the Ft2 and the FTX? Heavy gauge metal? Larger footprint? More Attachments? Beefier bench with the leg curl and extension? More stacked wieght? If you have a squat/Bench Cage, would you buy the Ft2 or the FTX (value) for a secondary cable machine? Thanks!
So the main differences between the Ftx and the Ft2 is that the Ft2 is a Smith Machine, Functional Trainer, Cable Leg Extension/Curl machine, etc .. all in one where as the Ftx is only a Functional Trainer. The only reason I got the ft2 was because it eliminates having to have several different machines such as a smith machine, functional trainer , lat Pulldown , low row , leg extension, leg curl, calf raise, seated calf raise, etc.. All while saving me lots of space.

I know that the smith has a "weight duplicator" so i think I'm good with that, but my concern is more about the lat pull down, not sure if the regular weights will be enough. Your opinion will be really helpfull, thanks!
I personally think the amount it comes with is plenty, Im not the type that try to go really heavy tho. The only problem for me is trying to stay Anchored to the ground when I’m trying to do 6-8 reps but Usually I’ll Stay at 10-15 reps
@@jcard959 have you tried to use the leg lock bench attachment to help you stay anchored? Not sure if the leg lock would help with that or if it's only for when you are layin down on the bench. Thanks for your answer!
@@jcard959 how about lowering the smith machine bar to lock your legs? sorry about the multiple questions, I will get the FT2 next week and I'm trying to find out if I will be able to do so without having to get extra plates for the bench to stay anchored. Thanks again.

For the FT2, have you tried doing seated rows sitting on the bench with the bench in the decline position instead of sitting on the floor? Does it still work with the foot stopper or does it get in the way? Does the bench move back while doing the exercise?
Can I use the f2 as a lat pull down machine and will it replace a lat pull down machine or not really?? Is it tall enough to get full extension when doing lat pull downs just like in a pulldown machine? I just bought an X-3 short foldable rack, the titan lat pull down machine with 300lbs weigjt stack which will never use that much weight. Lol I been doing research on functional trainners cause iam gonna buy one. But if the f2 can be use as lat pull down then I will buy that:)
@@futbol1972 yeah you could definitely use the ft2 as a lat pull down machine, you can adjust the pull up section so yes you will get full extension on it
Can I ask the measurement from the floor to the ceiling where you have the FT2? I am thinking of getting this for my basement and I am not sure how much head room I will have when doing chin ups and pull ups. I assume you have your chin up bar set to the lowest setting.
I actually bought it off of someone who apparently bought two of them but the first one took to long to get to him so he bought another one and sold me the one that took to long to get there

Both machines come with (2) 165 Ib weight stacks but the Ft2 gives you the option to upgrade and add an additional 50 Ibs per side

Yeah I’ve tried it and I would have to add plates onto the bench so it doesn’t lift us both

Yeah that was my only complaint on this machine, the starting position, so I switched to the SCS
Dream machine. Wish I could afford it.
Just keep an eye out on offerup or Facebook market , I picked one up for 1000 yesterday

Do you like this or the SCS better? SCS got a cable crossover vs functional trainer, that's the main difference as far as I can see.

I like the SCS better. Much easier to use and feels more like a smith machine, this one feels like a smith machine with resistance bands on the sides
