I don’t collect people and object to people trying to collect me. I am perfectly okay. I just happen to enjoy a group of brilliant storytellers who are each smart and special and individual. Nothing sinister. It’s unfortunate to be elderly in this position but I find when I am placed in a tough situation that I am being pushed to be more. I spent 15 years of my 28 year marriage caring for my husband. He died a little over a year ago. I packed everything up, sold my house, paid off my debts and left. Spent a few months with my daughter before she moved to Portugal, spent a few months with my oldest grandson and relocated him back where the sun shines. Then went to my sons and took my other two grandchildren for the summer and we explored. Decided to get an apartment near them and discovered I had no credit. Pay off your bills and don’t carry and debt and your file gets wiped clean. My credit is Zero. I didn’t know that was possible. Can’t rent an apartment or buy a house, though I don’t want the maintenance of a house. The things I kept when I sold the house are in storage and the price changes constantly. Without a home, the stuff has to go. So am trying to get rid of everything before January 1st so that I don’t have to pay them for another increase. Not sinister, but certainly a hole in the system. I have a shuttle bus that I used to take husband to doctors and clinics and I will use that as a home and travel. Most are things that should pass down but the kids don’t want it. They will be angry later, as will THEIR children but this is what they have decided. :::shrug::: if I get someone who can help me build it, this could be a gift! I mentioned it NOT for sympathy or attention but to underscore the fact that there were things I SHOULD be doing but I chose to watch the video first. Because Nicky, Carlo, Thomas and Skye make me smile. And I watch them because I can and because I want to. So I did, and I do.
So nice to see Tomaso ( sorry if I spelled it wrong) and please tell him he did a great job in English! Lovely, of course, to have Skye narrate and see them both spending special time with Carlo. Enjoyed it all
OMG the walk that took all day. Why have you not learned to stop following Fabrizio into the wilds? You are a brave girl to climb so high up. When you finally got to the flat plato I see the car up there and I think "Run now and hitch a ride." lol The view up there was out of this world. You could see forever. Amazing walk.

Thanks to Carlo, Skye, and Tomaso for sharing your family trip. Skye's accent always catches me off guard because she almost sounds American when I'm expecting Italian or British. A few words have a bit of a British accent, but you can really tell she grew up with an international influence.

Nicki, I just want to say thank you for last week's post where you were so honest about the holidays....I lost my parents at 16 and life changed in an instant. Nothing was ever "the same." When I had my son, of course, I always tried to make holidays the best for him .... but there's always that little spot in your heart that never quite heals & I feel it during the holidays. Bravo for being brave enough to talk about it! And good for you, I, too, love my peace & quiet when I can do whatever I want!

Skye sounds so much like Nicki, it felt like she was there a little on the Athens trip! This is the first time I've seen Tomaso, and he seems like a sweetheart like his dad! The hike looked amazing! I do feel for dehydrated Nicki in her Timberlands though! I had a harrowing experience in my 20s hiking to the top of a butte where I watched the sunset with my friend. As we hiked back down the trail, we realized the forest gets dark very quickly, and we hadn't brought a flashlight! That was a very scary adventure back to the car, as we have big cats in the area, and heard noises in the woods around us, but Im going to guess they were deer. After that, I became the slow one with the heavy backpack, because I overprepare for every trip. 😅

Hi@kemikemi, I'm much older than Nicki and as I've grown older, the decorating and gifts part of Christmas has become much much less important (except for the grandchildren of course). It's the getting together, enjoying spending time together that is important for me now. I also lost my mother not long before Christmas some years ago and it makes Christmas nostalgic... I suspect that for Nicki, it's something resembling that. I don't have to know more...I also think that "moodiness" is quite hard to shake sometimes if I remember well .. What I enjoy most in December are "Fairy lights" illuminating the long dark nights of Winter ...those happy little lights are very joyful to me. Happy Christmas to you...to Nicki and the whole family. Can't wait for their great new adventure in Tuscany xxx

It seems like Nicki , you really earnt you "day on the sofa with a book". The hike would have been arduous enough even if had have been prepared for it. Carlos what a wonderful tour of Athens you guys took. The sea of structures of the city just went on and on when you look down on it from way up high. I am sure the food was fabulous. The same as home but with a different twist. I love your outings. Please Please start your own channel. You have a different perspective on things. You so friendly and chatty with others. I think you would do well with it. You set your own program. Maybe start with doing a video once a month or more if you find content. Your editing will get better and better. Carlo, you think your boarding was slow in Greece? In October I was supposed to go to Athens, spend 6 hours there, then leave on a cruise ship. Our plane left so late that we never saw Athens, missed our boat and had to drive 6 hours to catch up to it in Olympia! 😒 I appreciated seeing Athens through your eyes! Well done!

Well, the apartment in the hotel is mainly for sleeping in and maybe having breakfast before you go out for the day, so it doesn't need a good view or even big rooms. That was a great lunch with your friend, Carla. And lunch looked good after seeing so many impressive ruins. What did Tommaso think of the dessert you stopped to get later? Delicious looking seafood after the museum. Tommaso speaks to the animals. LOL. Stunning views. I was worried you all wouldn't have the energy to head back downhill.

We don't go thru all of the xmas nonsense either. We stopped a few years ago and don't miss it one bit. We know many people who feel as we do that it's become the shopping holiday, there is definitely something missing so we opted out. We use this holiday to donate to multiple world food programs and animal sanctuaries. Ho! Ho! Ho! Happy New Year!

It's nice you had a guided tour with a vlog friend. The Greek food is ridiculously yummy looking! I love Dolmas and have made them . Carlo your drone footage is so interesting in the New Greek landscape.The coastline is magnificent.Sky has such dance moves which broke her /your bordem on the tarmac.& Next your extended demanding walk together. Watching it almost made me dizzy. Truly the views you provided for us in that extended excursion were so educational. Truly the top did wax into such extraordinary views of the land as it decended into the sea. That Italian peninsula is truly beautiful.I thank you for that. (However please do not ever take danger into your motivation to please viewers. You are important to me!) I'm happy you found food at the end of it all. I have been to Crete and yes the food is good. For me , totally Different to Italian , I would say but then I haven't been to your area. Your lunch with the fish soup , the fried Squid calamari , and Souvlaki all looked tasty. 😋 I'm not s fan of walking around Ruins 🙅🙅🤣 at all ..but you looked like you enjoyed it . I went to a famous place in Crete because my husband (at the time wanted to go) his holiday too. Just say I won't do it again. Churches , street art , architecture of buildings in the villages and towns , Signs , shops , foods. That's more me.. Nicki , I was scared for you in that HIKE 😮😮 yes views absolutely amazing but !! Thanks to Carlo, Skye, and Tomaso for sharing your family trip. Skye's accent always catches me off guard because she almost sounds American when I'm expecting Italian or British. A few words have a bit of a British accent, but you can really tell she grew up with an international influence.

Nicki, I just want to say thank you for last week's post where you were so honest about the holidays....I lost my parents at 16 and life changed in an instant. Nothing was ever "the same." When I had my son, of course, I always tried to make holidays the best for him .... but there's always that little spot in your heart that never quite heals & I feel it during the holidays. Bravo for being brave enough to talk about it! And good for you, I, too, love my peace & quiet when I can do whatever I want!

Skye sounds so much like Nicki, it felt like she was there a little on the Athens trip! This is the first time I've seen Tomaso, and he seems like a sweetheart like his dad!
The hike looked amazing! I do feel for dehydrated Nicki in her Timberlands though! I had a harrowing experience in my 20s hiking to the top of a butte where I watched the sunset with my friend. As we hiked back down the trail, we realized the forest gets dark very quickly, and we hadn't brought a flashlight! That was a very scary adventure back to the car, as we have big cats in the area, and heard noises in the woods around us, but Im going to guess they were deer. After that, I became the slow one with the heavy backpack, because I overprepare for every trip. 😅

Hi@kemikemi, I'm much older than Nicki and as I've grown older, the decorating and gifts part of Christmas has become much much less important (except for the grandchildren of course). It's the getting together, enjoying spending time together that is important for me now. I also lost my mother not long before Christmas some years ago and it makes Christmas nostalgic... I suspect that for Nicki, it's something resembling that. I don't have to know more...I also think that "moodiness" is quite hard to shake sometimes if I remember well .. What I enjoy most in December are "Fairy lights" illuminating the long dark nights of Winter ...those happy little lights are very joyful to me. Happy Christmas to you...to Nicki and the whole family. Can't wait for their great new adventure in Tuscany xxx

Great to see Carlo, Skye and Tomaso having bonding time together in such remarkable settings with amazing food. Making memories. It seems like Nicki , you really earnt you "day on the sofa with a book". The hike would have been arduous enough even if had have been prepared for it. I just want to mention my amazing soap set arrived ( Merry Christmas to me) and the soaps smell amazing. Carlos what a wonderful tour of Athens you guys took. The sea of structures of the city just went on and on when you look down on it from way up high. I am sure the food was fabulous. The same as home but with a different twist. I love your outings. Please Please start your own channel. You have a different perspective on things. You so friendly and chatty with others. I think you would do well with it. You set your own program. Maybe start with doing a video once a month or more if you find content. Your editing will get better and better. Your very good with camera and drone already. TY for sharing your fab trip with the kids.
Carlo, you think your boarding was slow in Greece? In October I was supposed to go to Athens, spend 6 hours there, then leave on a cruise ship. Our plane left so late that we never saw Athens, missed our boat and had to drive 6 hours to catch up to it in Olympia! 😒 I appreciated seeing Athens through your eyes! Well done!

Well, the apartment in the hotel is mainly for sleeping in and maybe having breakfast before you go out for the day, so it doesn't need a good view or even big rooms. That was a great lunch with your friend, Carla. And lunch looked good after seeing so many impressive ruins. What did Tommaso think of the dessert you stopped to get later? Delicious looking seafood after the museum. Tommaso speaks to the animals. LOL. Stunning views. I was worried you all wouldn't have the energy to head back downhill.

We don't go thru all of the xmas nonsense either. We stopped a few years ago and don't miss it one bit. We know many people who feel as we do that it's become the shopping holiday, there is definitely something missing so we opted out. We use this holiday to donate to multiple world food programs and animal sanctuaries. Ho! Ho! Ho! Happy New Year!

Good morning 🌞. We have had in the last 2 months only two skiffs of 🌨️❄️. I miss the beauty of it all. Don't miss the slippery icy roads.,though.! Certainly looks like a Brown Christmas. It's nice you had a guided tour with a vlog friend. The Greek food is ridiculously yummy looking! I love Dolmas and have made them . Carlo your drone footage is so interesting in the New Greek landscape.The coastline is magnificent.Sky has such dance moves which broke her /your bordem on the tarmac.& Next your extended demanding walk together. Watching it almost made me dizzy. Truly the views you provided for us in that extended excursion were so educational. Truly the top did wax into such extraordinary views of the land as it decended into the sea. That Italian peninsula is truly beautiful.I thank you for that. (However please do not ever take danger into your motivation to please viewers. You are important to me!) I'm happy you found food at the end of it all. For me , totally Different to Italian , I would say but then I haven't been to your area. Your lunch with the fish soup , the fried Squid calamari , and Souvlaki all looked tasty. 😋 I'm not s fan of walking around Ruins 🙅🙅🤣 at all ..but you looked like you enjoyed it . I went to a famous place in Crete because my husband (at the time wanted to go) his holiday too. Just say I won't do it again. Churches , street art , architecture of buildings in the villages and towns , Signs , shops , foods. That's more me..
