- Henry Jackman returns as a guest on Film.Music.Media, this time for an All Access interview that takes us through his entire career including his approach for Kong: Skull Island. Hear how Henry found his path to becoming a film composer by finding a passion in traditional classical music as well as hard electronic rave music in Europe. Henry talks about his time working in pop music and how Hans Zimmer ended up convincing him to move to Los Angeles and pursue film composing. He is a vastly underrated composer. Winter Soldier, Uncharted 4, and Civil War are all absolutely fantastic.
Also Captain Phillips, every track is a banger, but its real underrated

He doesn’t get enough credit, he’s a composer that really knows and understands how music is supposed to sound in a film with almost every piece perfectly adapted to what’s happening on screen. Brilliant!!!

I was lucky enough to spend a short period of school with Henry when he left Eton. Amazing talent. Ask him to play anything and then he was away on a piano or keyboard. My friends and I thought he was a legend….and clearly he was.
Alongside Hanz, Henry is just about the most down to earth composer I've ever seen. What a great guy!

A SUPERB film music composer. Him and several other composers are truly remarkable musicians that understand the power of orchestra in telling a story visually.

this is great, Henry and I were buddies at school, I remember sitting in my study listening to some old skool Jungle - we both looked at each other and said wow - we gotta go to one of these gigs. lovely guy.

I went to school with this man. Fun fact: he was expelled from Eton for bunking off and going to a Guns N Roses concert. He then came to my school and was instantly the best musician in the school.

I was very impressed with Jackman’s harmonic use in his Kong Skull island. The theme for Kong was almost Mahlerian. Very harmonically ambiguous.

When I first heard his composition for X-Men First Class soundtrack, I thought he might be a really serious, stoic type of guy... but now he's actually opposite than what I expected. Keep making that awesome music Mr Jackman :D
First Class is a special one to me, but Kingsman: The Secret Service that's one of my top favorites of his.

I loved Abraham Lincoln vampire slayer, and Henry was the perfect composer for that movie.
