You probably should clean or have someone clean and disinfect the A/C unit.
A/C doesn't cause colds it is probably full of mold or bacteria because of the humid climate.

It sounds like your A/C has mold in it. I can't even be around mold and to sleep all night I will sound very bad myself.
I was in one place with the Army and it was seriously hot. Nudging towards 45-50 centigrade in the shade. I was in full kit, body armour, the works, and I had an interpreter with me. It was unpleasant as as fast as I was pouring water down my neck, it was sweating out of me, everywhere.
At this one time, there was an old local, sat under the shade of a nearby tree, and he and the interpreter exchanged a few words and the interpreter laughed.
"What did he say?" I asked.
"He said 'wait until the summertime'"

Thailand rob. We have the same problem in Cambodia, air conditioning. I haven't been to the pub for two weeks, but now that I've been to the chemist, I shall be able to go back to my watering hole. The flu here in Cambodia goes round and round and round in circles. Thank you antibiotics.
