Wow what a piece of kit, cheers Jared thanks to Gene Chaser for letting us see your immense toy box. Would love to see the toys onboard let alone chartering fora few weeks. There’s some fortunate people around.
Paragon G25 it just nuts but in terms of practicality you can’t beat the landing craft. I really love the support yacht segment of the market, I probably wouldn’t even bother with a yacht if I could afford one of these bad boys
These Damien support vessels are fully customizable as well, I’d definitely go with a support vessel with a custom interior layout over some super yacht
@@marklynch1305 i didnt know you controlled other peoples opinions and decisions. A lot of people if given the resources would choose something like this over a superyacht.
@@brqxton8974 lol that’s not controlling someone else’s opinion. All I’m saying is in reality if you did have 20-50 million or even more to spend on a yacht you wouldn’t think oh I’ll just buy a support vessel. Why aren’t there more standalone support vessels if it’s so popular?
@@marklynch1305 support vessels are quite new to the superyacht world, thats why. support vessels are almost exclusively made by Damen and only so many can actually be built per year
Great video Jared. Say what does a Bosun do in the Yatching world? What are they responsible for? In Nina's recent video, "The Real Below Decks," she said that a Bosun in above all the deckhands but below the 2nd officer. Can you explain further? Thanks!
Hi, as a Bosun in yachting, I feel I may be able to answer your question, My daily duties are to sort out work lists of things that need to be sorted out on the deck, and working with the deckhands to ensure the jobs get sorted, I also need to keep account of all deck stores onboard, what we have, how much we have and whether we need to order more or if we have enough to last until we can resupply again, I answer directly to the chief officer/ first mate, and will be the one who is held to account if something on deck isn’t to satisfactory levels of quality. The Bosun will usually be a majority tender driver also depending on owner preference, some only want officers and bosuns to drive them, The Bosun is also a teacher, sharing their knowledge to the deckhands and showing how to do various things whilst multitasking the aspects of the teaching and completing your own work
@@n-vital97 Excellent, thank you very much. I understand all of what you said based on all the other videos that Jared has put out over his years as a deckhand!

@@jaredwatney thanks. When I renew my STCW & ENG1 soon after my Bosiet refresher I'll put feelers out. I'm looking more for expedition type work/trips as paramedic, diving instructor, hyperbaric chamber operator, jet ski instructor, tender operator up to 25T with super yacht & navy sailing experience. In between expeditions I work full time as paramedic to keep up medical skills. Thx for your great vids. Does a lot for the industry. 😉
I realise that I am in the minority with my thoughts on this type of vessel...!! Just what is needed, a boat load of toys for a boat load of arrogant boys (or "Yobbo's") who do not care in the least about the enjoyment of others or the enviroment, as long as they can tear around on their deafening quad bikes and high powered motorcycles.. Besides to me, if an item cannot be carried aboard the main vessel, maybe it is not really needed..? I'd prefer a "scaled down version" of the late Paul Allen's iconic explorer yacht "OCTOPUS" ...!!
It's absolutely crazy how this is on the same planet as people who don't have access to clean water or food . Watching these videos with nothing to snack on is just criminal.
With all respect, owners of yachts like this usually do a lot more for people who are under privileged than someone like me who can’t afford a yacht ever could.
@@jaredwatney I think you missed the joke there Jared . Support Vessels are awesome. They supply the fun.
100%
Being an engineer on of these support vessels looks pretty fun to me
The landing craft is my 1st pic as it is multi-functional. Fun!
Amazing video guys! Thanks Jared and everyone.
Thank you!!
What a beauty!
One of my absolute favourites
Such boats are a lot more interesting than the "normal" superyachts imo. Good video.
Love the ski boat. That thing is a work of art.
Very impressive, first class.
This is absolutely epic bru! Love it from all angles. So great to see your videography from the start to where it is now. 🙌
Thanks a ton Tyler. Really appreciate it!
I'm with the boatswain when it comes to landingcraft for top spot.
Just too cool.
Can't beat your own landing craft, man...
Double the pleasure. That is too cool for school.✌️😉👍
Great Video Jared
Thanks so much
I like the landing craft and zodiac :)
Good choices 🔥
Great Oreo as always thank u🛳
My pleasure 😊
Great videos. Glad to see your back at it.
Landing craft can do everything so that my choice
Good on ya mate
Thanks Hank
Jared, great video Why not a list of all the toys.

I’m fairly confident they manage financial stuff, so food budgets and things like that plus they are a senior crew member but don’t quote me on that
It would be interesting to hear explanation of what the various positions do, depending on yacht/crew size.

what is that last tender at the end the brand
Fjord 42
What was the landing craft? I'm with the bosun, 55knots!!! while shallow-drafted, utilitarian and practical
Who manufactured the landing craft?
Hatløy Maritime, Ulsteinvik Norway. OxPro
We saw both in Europe in June and July !!!!!
What is a rough retail price on the yacht?

Great episode Jared. Who are the placement agencies that hire more specialized crew for these vessels?
Same agencies hey Sean. Just more specific crew requirements

Millennials: NO GMO's!
Same Millennials: We worship the billionaire geneticist. There's a lab on board Gene Chaser. Woohoo.
You seem fun
I think my favorite toy would be the Boatswain…. 🤷🏼♂️ The rest are pretty cool as well though.
My favourite toy is the bosun! What a girl. Awesome :)
Iv made sure to pass your comment on haha.
Funny she says all-female crew except the captain, but at 6:12 in the video, they're lowering the boat into the water and I count 4 guys and 1 female.
Female dominated crew that's dope!
Epic right!
"insane, who runs the world!" well the captain is a man LOL
Does the Bosun come as a toy on the boat?
How does the owner get any work done with this many toys to play with?!??😬😬
Does Gene Chaser have its own captain? Or does the cap from Gene Machine do both?
Gene chaser has its own captain
Thank you for profiling a female bosun!!!!!!! 😃😃😃😃
