If you had adjusted the spray trigger to a mist it would have applied much easier, just twist dial where the product comes out the sprayer.
@@Adam-wu7vt thanks for watching, good tip, should have thought of that really 👍
Hey,
Unfortunately, I have to tell you that unfortunately that won't help.
The approach is completely wrong.
First the rust must be loosened or removed as best as possible.
Then degrease and then spray or brush a rust converter of your choice on it.
When this is completely dry (you can tell by the black color) you are ready for the next step.
Sealing with a wax or grease of your choice.
There are so many products on the market that it's easy to lose track, but with a little research you can quickly find the good products.
Simply spraying untreated rust with Lanoguard will not help.
The rust continues to work.
I'm also shocked at how much rust a modern BMW already has.
The body is already affected by rust.
Best regards

@@kreidosdaddelt1196 this is not unusual for any 10 year old car on UK roads. It's due to our wet weather and the salt that we use on our roads.
I never said this was a 'cure'. I wasn't particularly looking for a cure. I have followed this to Lanoguard instructions, they say to spray it directly onto the affected areas.
This to me is a simple to use, effective product. It has drastically improved the appearance and when applied every 6 months will prevent it getting any worse.
Great work, do they say how long the protection last for/before you need to reapply?
Cheers Tony, from memory I think it says to reapply every 12 months. Very impressed with it, easy to apply and looks far better than it did. Shocked me when BMW sent me the video of underneath.
@@DanielGallivan-qt3fz Its worth doing due to the salts on our roads, hopefully good protection. Hopefully sales have picked up
@@TonyM444 yes, I've got the Kia Rio to do as well. I will get on with that this week 👍
Be handier with higher ramps buddy
Yeah 2 ramps would have been better but that 1 wasn't too bad at all to be honest. Could get under there quite easily, I'm only a slip of a lad 😁 see how I get on with the Kia Rio.
@DanielGallivan-qt3fz I've heard mixed reviews of Lanoguard.......I'm a bit apprehensive to spend money if it's not any good.
The kit you bought.....was it expensive and how many cars would you expect to get out of the kit you bought?
@@Ken_Dodds_Tickling_Stickfrom memory I think it was £123.99 for the large kit which was 2 X 2 L bottles, a tub of grease which I didn't show in this video, and the trigger sprayer. With hindsight the regular kit with 1 X 2ltr bottle would have been more than enough for what I needed. I've got 2 cars to do and 1 2 ltr bottle would easily do 2 cars. The regular kit is 78.99 I believe. As you can see in the video, visually it's a massive improvement.
@DanielGallivan-qt3fz brilliant, you're a 🌟
Looks like I'm won over. I have an original 1996 V6 Calibra, a 1998 1.6 Sport Corsa B and a 2015 VX Line Insignia, so it'll be 2 large kits I think.
