Following the world premiere of her directorial debut BRUISED at AFI FEST 2021, Halle Berry sits down with filmmaker Ava DuVernay for a conversation about her new Netflix film.
ABOUT BRUISED:
Jackie Justice (Halle Berry) is a mixed martial arts fighter who leaves the sport in disgrace. Down on her luck and simmering with rage and regret years after her fight, she’s coaxed into a brutal underground fight by her manager and boyfriend Desi and grabs the attention of a fight league promoter who promises Jackie a life back in the octagon. But the road to redemption becomes unexpectedly personal when Manny- the son she gave up as an infant - shows up at her doorstep. Marking the directorial debut of Academy Award® winner Berry, BRUISED is a triumphant story of a fighter who reclaims her power, in and out of the ring, when everyone has counted her out.

Best Halle Berry movie ever since losing Isaiah I mean if you remember she needs to get rid of that Oscar of hers for monsters ball that is going to be a reminder of the pain and hatred that she had because her father abused their family and yet out her own anger people respected her now because she fought for something that she believed it ?

Halle berry did great job on this movie netflix have a millions o shows and movies but only a handful of real actors girl you can act your ass off. I really did enjoy the movie I watched twice and I will probably watch it again it very entertaining.
But the bad thing about this whole thing is that when you look at the Barbara Waters special Back then Halle Berry was a woman who the word hell has no drew that woman's going Halle Berry's decision and out of her own mouth to say I dated abusive men I don't care I will use men and very much her anger decide I'm going to do nude scenes now I want the people to make think that I'm a sex object that was as bitter victory and yet now it seemed like Oscar are white washing her because she bumped the trim done fortunately Hollywood has her trademark the character but not the person

Ms. Halle Berry is definitely a fighter with that fighter spirit, has spearheaded her to overcome so many obstacles and breakdown racial barriers, that tried to silence and defeat her.

Love this movie! The panic attack Jackie has in the bathroom was saw real!! the fact she gave a badass fighter a panic attack was incredibly bold and vulnerable. The fact they Jackie and her son did not have many words spoken but their body language and emotion came through...Its an excellent film!!

This Halle Berry made a decision that she was not going to do any sex or nude scene that decision back then gave her the Oscar for monsters ball having a relationship with her ex-boyfriend Billy Bob Thornton and after they broke up he is part of Halle Berry's X-Men they treated her wrong and now she's about to burn them all but it's a price she paid where Oscars are so white and she bit the hand that created her and basically Halle Berry allowed them to exploit her and now that's their trademark but this Halle Berry can't keep her head on high cuz she did her way it's nice when you have a boss that can you can trust and now she has a relationship but with a musician van hunt but Hallie has to understand the lead actors are just not going to lead her to happiness 😭

Halle "Oscar" Berry was the most brutally bruised and relatable MMA fighter ,in her directorial debut.
There were several moments where I shed a tear for "Jackie Justice " aka Pretty Bull and her son, Manny. Manny was an excellent young actor and I hope to see more of him. Also, the chemistry between Halle & Sheila Atim was emotionally palpable.
You know it's funny that Halle Berry this woman here said that I will not take my clothes off I'm not going to do sex scenes at her own anger towards her father she won the Oscar because basically she did a sex scene with Billy Bob Thornton and that's the only thing that they talked about not her acting and it's a shame that Hollywood exploit it her but in her own way she has to take the blame too Hollywood does not give you a choice and all she wanted is to find somebody to love unfortunately in Hollywood fairy tales is just that and it leaves you empty and just so hurt that she became a scorned woman who left every X-Men in her life with a Scarlet letter and basically her pain caused her her Fame
Just saw "Bruised" last night. TBH it took me a few hours to watch the entire movie. This little over 2 hour movie is such a soul shocking impact filled cinematic. Believe it or not, it inspired me in the decision to repair my contusions alone.

instead of massive funding going to them that paperwork in. to the G persons. have the G persons figure out how much, then send out to them local studios/Permits cost money too/ and let the Studios Pick the THEM that get some of that location's time and use.
