Hey Yudi !! I’m so relieved after watching the video. I’ve scored 300 in gre and my Toefl score is 90. I’m planning to apply for MIS in NEU and this video was definitely a wild push to go ahead and shoot an application.

Yudi Bhai I have Got Admission from 3 Universities and 1 of them is Drexel University the only thing where i went wrong was i didn't checked Drexel Fee's , Now tge Fee for 1 year is 43K$ and have got Scholarship but that's still a expensive college but don't want to loose this opportunity.. What Can i do? ANOTHER thing is I can raise a loan but I don't want to Live my future in debt so what other options left??

Hey yudi just wanted to know how good is mps informatics course(analytics concentration)in NEU Boston. Can you make a video like this with a student who is doing that course? It will be helpful! And I wanted to know about this mps courses I have read about them but would like to hear from you.
Overview:
MPS programs in NEU come under CPS (College of Professional studies) . Here are the points in which they differ from COE (College of Engineering) programs like MIS, Engineer management, etc.
1. CPS has trimesters and not semesters like other programs
2. CPS courses are less heavy on technical/coding. More focused on tools.
3. CPS program has different set of courses to choose from than engineering programs, which are mix of management and little coding
4. It is much cheaper than other programs; my friends did their MPS in almost half the fee if not less, than what I did my Masters at NEU for
5. GRE is optional for CPS
About college and programs:
At NEU: CCIS (College of computer science) is tech and theory heavy, COE (College of engineering) is technical heavy and then CPS, which is mix of management and some tools like tableau, little bit python etc.
Student feedback:
When I asked a lot of students why they chose CPS; they told me because their counselor recommended them. It also seems like some NEU programs like MPS has collaborations in India with counselors who push aspirants towards these programs, irrespective of if the program is good for them or not. That is reality of Abroad studies counselling in India.
For NEU, CPS programs are newly released (started in Fall 2017 i think), they admit students in huge batches in this program. It is more like a money churning program for them. Which also means CPS students have limited access to resources, professors in the courses are not of the same quality as in Engineering and Computer Science.
Job opportunities:
Although US employers hardly ask "what program/courses" you did, they do ask technical proficiency, projects you have done and previous work experience. So CPS students still have same opportunity as others, but because they do not get exposure to technical concepts, they usually have hard time finding jobs in pure technical roles. Majority of students i know at CPS have really really hard time finding job.
Opinion: Who should do MPS programs?
If you have experience in a specialization and taking an MPS program in the same specialization, then it is an OK option.
For example, if you have experience (2 years) working as a Health Analyst, and are taking MPS in Health Analytics; then you will have a good chance of getting a job. Because Health analytics is a niche and specific skill.
If you intend to go in technical roles like: Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Analyst etc.; then MPS is not at all a good course.
If you plan to go into roles like Program Manager then again MPS is an OK option.
Advice: Give GRE, even if you get score of 285+ you have good chances that you can get admit in MIS at NEU. which is a much better option if you are going for technical roles or even if you want to go into management roles like Program Manager. IF MIS doesn't work, you can also apply for Masters in Engineering management, which has tons of course options.
Summary: Give GRE, and you have tons of option within NEU where you have better option for choosing courses and deciding a job role or specialization.
PS: I have done my Masters in Data Analytics Engineering from NEU Boston (Spring 2018-Fall 2019), currently working as a Data Engineer. All the information is first hand experience of spending time at NEU.
