Thanks for posting this. Great memories. I must have played that record 100s of times as a kid - the dialog is so familiar. "And here come the CROCS!" - so great!
I am so thrilled you posted this. My mom got me all of these and I spent so many hours just playing the record over and over again. This one was my favorite because of Mike’s cheeseball song ! I always remembered the intervals being a sus4 to major 3 and a b7 and it stuck with me since I was 5 - now I’m a musician obviously lol. But what really cracked me up even as a kid was that the headhunters were fine with the big scary metal demon driving through their camp and they attacked it without fear until they heard the corny music and that’s what sent them running. LOL
Crocodile's, quicksand and headhunters! Nothing else fired up a 70's kid imagination quite like this!! Wait... throw in Bigfoot and you covered all the bases!!
Errmahgerrrsh I had this!!! I must've been 10 or 11. I played it over and over on my 45 suitcase record player. Never knew there were other book/record sets. I also had the original joe with the fuzzy glued on short hair and beard.
This came out in 1973- there was a lot LOUDER stuff Mike could have used to scare those natives: Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Iggy & the Stooges, Led Zeppelin...
This is Top Notch!! I never thought that I would hear this, let alone watch it as well!!! Dude, I owe you dinner!! The one thing that stuck out so much about this, is the sound effect that is made when the vehicles hook is thrown. I have NEVER forgetten that sound. "Ka'chi'chook." LOL. Like WOW!! Thak you for uploading this!! This came out when kids were "REAL" kids! Before video games. I did get bruised up quite a bit thanks to evel kneivel, though. lol
i had these too. and found a original vintage book and record set for 15 on ebay. i just got it. i forget all about these records. i am 43. i still love gijoe. rambo etc. but i forget i had this. i still buy figures etc. but when i recently seen these and remember having them. i found it on ebay 15 dollars. mint shape. so old. holding it in my hands again 2 days ago for the first time since i was a kid was amazing.
yep. i dug out my joe last night out of the closet from a box after decades. i put him in a photo next to the book etc. so cool i used to play with that joe when i read the story etc. to see the book next to my old joe i had as a kid. so cool.
I haven't seen mine since late 70's. I do have my set of Marx Guns of Navarone Giant Playset that I play with my son. I got that set about 1975 and another set, I think D-Day by Marx, in 1976.
I haven't seen these since the early 70s and I remember every line as they play out. I miss being a kid

The music is "Beat to Begin," also used in the 1967 Spider-Man cartoons.

Anyway I haven’t heard it for 45 years and it was killing me that I couldn’t remember how that song went ...
Thanks for posting. Brings back fond memories of my childhood. My buddy and I used to listen to these all the time as kids.

"My record collection!"
For whatever reason, the music afterwards used to crack us up back in the day.
Us too. Mike sure had a groovy record collection. 😆

"I'm going, Mike buddy; keep me zeroed in! "
Lol, some of his lines remind me of a grown up Davey from Davey and Goliath.
I'll buy the drinks! My childhood is all coming back now! Love it! Thanks so much for this.

So this is where that band got they're name from. 🤔🎸🎵🎶🎼
Ha ha this was so freaking awesome 👌
"Too short! Come on, baby, catch hold! Uhh!" (CLICK-A-CHICK)
Sounds like a personal problem there, Joe. That might explain why there's no G.I. Jane.
Parabéns pelo vídeo!
who does all those voices on the record?
