- Today we’re talking all about external components. What are the best attributes (stats) and rolls you can get on each piece, what you should look for, and where to farm them in The First Descendant.
External Components are pieces of gear, attached to your descendant, that increase your shield, HP and defense. They can also come with unique attributes that boost your loot drops and help you with farming. They each have a unique shape and name: Auxiliary Power, Sensor, Memory, and Processor.

Something to keep in mind is some of the set pieces are better than normal. For instance, the bravery/venom/annihilator sensors get DEF of 4683, where as normal sensors are 2385. Also for the memory, only the annihilator memory pieces get a full 646 HP instead of 484.

Any ultimate component can roll def max 4683 or HP max 646. You can also get double hp on aux - up to a second HP max of 974. In general rare isn't worth outside or pre level 100 hard mode. hm boss component sets are notorious for rolling trash stats fyi - which needs to be looked at as hm boss drops should ALWAYS have top line best in class stats. Anyway fyi.
Likely also worth noting is these resistances are always tied to the following: aux = fire, sensor = chill, memory = electric, processor = toxic
Are the set pieces from Void bosses locked to what they can roll on the main stat? For instance, is the Bravery Sensor always main stat Def? Or can it be something else?

I come from playing Destiny 2 since 2015. Finding someone you vibe with is important. A lot of creators, I find arrogant and showing off what they've accomplished, in not a good way. Looking forward to watching, and learning from your videos.
Thanks for the guide, I can see someone already mentioned in the comments about the different set components having sometimes better tops stats compared to the normal ones, but I had no idea I can actually filter to see where that is the case in the access info tab so thx a million for educating me on that.

I agree a lot of these youtubers post the same copy and paste content and it's not even tested with those builds they show but No you couldn't do it yourself cause you're someone who didn't know this basic info that takes 2 seconds to search up. Losers everywhere.

dude, dont waste anymore time farming for def items. i watched a video comparison about def vs hp. hp build tanks 10x better than def build. now i only have 3k def and rest is hp, i tank 5 self destructing enemies and still have more hp. just get a sub stats with consumable drop rateincrease so healing items drops more.

A second hp mod like HP conversion or hp amplification. Also hp external components especially a hp double roll on your aux
@@lamontthelegend1651 idk if there is a set for hp like def set which is called tomb something. different characters also have different stats multiplier. the same set you are wearing could make viessa 10k hp then if gley use that set it can give her 12k just for example.

something I learned the hard way, when you are just starting into hard mode, regardless of descendant go all in on Defense and HP at least until you can figure out what you want to do with a particular descendant

@@ivanupton6586Try stacking HP instead of DEF. I'm running 11k HP and only 4k DEF. So much tankier.

Super helpful tips, but I don’t know if it’s worth the time to specifically farm a set as your first thing. I’m working on getting Ult Ajax, Ult Lepic, and the Ult machine gun. Doing 2 attempts per part, cycling through all that, is like 3-4 hours. I’ve been doing that for maybe like a week now and I have a whole screen full of gold level set items (pretty much with all ele resist since that’s always what I’ve done.) So, without ‘going out of my way’, I’m getting a ton of sets.
Also be aware you’ll get very full very fast saving up. I have one of every gun to level up, and with a screen of components I have to clear junk every like 5 min, and even then get lots in the mail. :o

Thanks for this. Does this mean If you find an active area for Processors ALL processors have a chance to drop there (except the named golds of course)? Does it matter which mission type you do in the area since they are all "Mission Monster" drops? If the Processor you are looking for does not indicate the current active area as one of the locations it drops do you have to wait for its drop area to become active on Reset in order to farm it? Please clarify, save me from wasted farming time!
Yes, all normal outside except sets will drop there. Any mission in that area. Components will still drop randomly but it's very rare vs the targeted area so I say just wait for that
@@AbbyHour to be clear: if I'm hunting a Battle Aesthetics Processor I need to wait until the active area for Processors matches a drop area for Battle Aesthetic Processors since it is a set component, correct? Will it not drop in the designated area unless the 2 line up? Or does it being an active area just increase the chances? Thanks for your time on this BTW.
@@tbonepanzer5671 Use the Access Info tab for info on the Sets and their drop locations. The target loot map I talk about in this video is for non-set components only.

Where can I get sensors during the campaign? I've had about 4 low-level sensors, and now I'm not getting any.
I’ve been crafting an insane amount of stuff. I have no issues with gold. Kiper has been my problem in endgame. Have so many builds I’m trying to work on. I blow through it.
Is there any way to (even somewhat inefficiently) farm for the two component types that arent in rotation? Ive been stuck with a rare memory component because I was previously not paying attention to how important every little boost is
Unfortunately, no. If what you need isn’t in rotation, you just have to wait until next week. The externals swap every week.
the other 2 can still drop, they just won't be common
What about mp recovery in combat? Shield recovery in combat?
Step 1: You grind them.
Step 2: Repeat step 1.
Always prioritize HP over def. On average, it'll lead to way more eHP and it directly improves health orbs that youll be picking up.

For a overall build can i use main stat as MAX HP on all components? or should i get Double HP Auxiliary Power and Double DEF Memory and rest HP?

I was wondering, do you know or have the maximum values of each ultimate stat that can roll on each piece. Would like to know. Right now I have a gold drop rate at .185 for example.

some of them are nice, like the Slayer set from Pyromaniac, but he doesn't drop very good rolls so it's hard to get what you want.

The list doesn't cover every drop. Like last week didn't mention one of the gulch areas actually had memory
Gold Processors in Fortress- Frozen Valley this week not on the filtered list.
Also targeting reactor drops, different missions in the area more commonly drop certain weapon types. Ex: light weapons( hand guns, hand cannon) in one, medium in another,and another for heavy.
Gold Processors in Fortress- Frozen Valley is on the Difficulty Level Rewards screen
@@AbbyHour probably was a filter setting on my end then. Targeting the gold mounting for your favorite gun for a build seems consistent though. Did one for the last dagger for a high speed bunny farming build last week. Fallen hope for Freyna Monday.
To me personally, I dont see much value in the regular ultimate components, I would just farm the set ones from Intercept battles.
i hate that no matter what i get dropped it always has shield on it its so annoying
Shields are just as important as all the other survivability options available. Focusing on the strongest base survivability stat is best without neglecting the others. Furthermore, shields regenerate while in combat and health does not.
Also, recovering MP or HP out of combat is situational at best. Overall, it’s hard to get out of combat during aggressive gameplay. Still, recovery perks do have their place.
Shields to regenerate while in combat unlike health. However you can't get any extra back besides whatever your Regen rate is, meanwhile health can drop whenever you kill anything.
I'll take having 30k health that I can get back constantly while killing things and have 0 shields rather than 30k shield that I gotta rely on the regen rate to even have and lower health.

A tip for everybody, shield is useless, defense is ok up to around 25k, and HP is king. In my opinion you want double HP rolls on all of the comps. This will yield the most tanky build

depends on how much HP you have, if you have low HP, don't go for DEF, if you have, say 13k go for DEF
Depends on the Descendant. Like with Ajax you want to stack defense (though don’t ignore hp) since his stuff scales off def.
@toad4641 15k health and 25k defense is the sweetspot. It's been proven that health stands. It's ground way better than defense. Various tests etc proves this...

I had what basically amounts to a God-Roll Sensor, Hp, Mp, Mp Regen in Combat (I Main Viessa) so for my build, it was Op, even at Lv66
Idk how but it got scrapped, & now my Viessa build is F***ed, so i needed a way to farm another 1, as her build is basically an Omni-range Nuker-Mage with guns (or an Ice Bullet-Witch xD)
