I was using Pinterest last year just for organic and now that I went into my Amazon attribution tracking I noticed that I had made some sales coming from Pinterest. Knowing that now I will be spending money with reddit and pinterest ads, it becomes imperative to know my conversions. I noticed that the Attribution interface in Amazon now is way different than a year ago. I also noticed that there are 2 other people in the comments below asking for Amazon attribution updates and a video, so we want our video LOL. Thanks for sharing the info Adam. You always bring good content and I subscribed to your channel. Some Amazon sellers could possibly be sitting on a gold mind product in terms of not getting any sales. And they may have to test outside traffic like Pinterest, Facebook, etc. This is what I'm going to do before I throw in the towel for a product a recently launched. Take care!👍

re: attribution - if you're just using it temporarily (launch, re-rank, etc) - I wouldn't bother. If you plan to run them indefinitely it may be worth doing attribution.
Great Video! So helpful as a new seller looking at new ways to drive traffic to my listing. Have you changed your mind on Amazon Attribution now that Amazon will refund 10% for all orders?
It's still not perfect, but worth implementing if you are using on-going campaigns. For simplicity I still do most of my launch campaigns without amazon attribution.

They are usually slightly different per platform (though I carry over all high revelance terms across all platforms from my KW deep dive on amazon). I'm only doing friendly rebates right now.

30% sounds snug. What are your cogs vs selling price? Keep in mind that the 30% needs to be at least cogs and ideally enough for advertising. Hard to calculate but given that you are using your initial profits for reorder (not recommended but we can work with it if that is the reality) - I would focus on just AMZ PPC to start and see if that ranks. If not, you can test some other approaches at $10'ish per day.

For Pinterest ads I would use the "social sharing" pinterest link that you can find below your ASINs buy buttons. You can add KW strings to the end of that URL.

Usually two weeks until reviews start coming in. I think a decent budget over two weeks is best (short spikes probably serve less value for the money in terms of rank).

The strategies described in this video are aimed at driving organic rank on Amazon. I think it's a much different approach than the ROI/ROAS based analysis you would leverage for ecommerce traffic. If you have a solid operational structure to drive ecommerce sales profitably, and Pinterest is working direct to your site, I think that should always be leveraged first. But if you want to rank and drive the amazon fly wheel, this strategy helps achieve that.
Hey Adam, another good one, like you simple and straight style. Here in the video you create the campaign through the Campaign menu under Create, however, I see under Create there is no Campaign option, only Create Ad. Did they change that or my account does not have such an option for some reason?

Just started my first Pinterest campaign, though a little confused - when creating the campaign I was supposed to provide a URL to whether direct the traffic, so I entered the link to the Amazon listing. However, when a pin is chosen, obviously it has its own URL as we fill in while creating the pin itself. And these two URLs are not the same. So where the ads will direct the clicks to? To the URL entered at the campaign level or to the URL that appears in the Pin itself?

Do Pinterest posts normally get impressions WITHOUT advertising them? I made a few posts with an advertising credit, which of course did get impressions. On my next few posts, I noticed over 1K impressions on VIDEO PINS I made that I did not advertise. Now, after a few weeks of not advertising, my plain non-advertised Pinterest posts are getting no impressions. Hmm
Like anything, it depends. If you have good imagery, a relevant highly sought after topic/solution, and work the KWs properly - you'll definitely get organic traffic.

Good question! I get out of kilter at times, but I generally love this stuff. And a few years of compounding effects (little incremental bits of knowledge and skills compounding over time).
@@AdamHeist Finding time for Amazon FBA is a struggle for me with my full-time job, wife, and newborn. I end up squeezing it into my nights and weekends (and getting yelled at by the wife).
I completed a thorough campaign with great keywords and a targeted audience, and I got to the last step and I get an unknown error when I pick certain video Pins to promote. They have valid Amazon product links in them. Although the Pinterest campaign manager says all of my pins are available to add to the campaign, apparently it does not like some of my pins for an unknown reason. Let's see if Pinterest support ca n help me figure out the problem.
@@AdamHeist I got an answer. Let this be a lesson to everyone, DO NOT add Emoticons to any area of your pin text. According to Pinterest Support, you can't advertise on any Pins that contain Emoticons! :)

It would be difficult without a 3PL. Usually you need to return to your warehouse then reship to your end destination.
Can we use pinterest pixel to capture the event of people clicking the link? This way you can atleast know how many people went to ur listing?

Hey Adam, another good one, like you simple and straight style. Here in the video you create the campaign through the Campaign menu under Create, however, I see under Create there is no Campaign option, only Create Ad. Did they change that or my account does not have such an option for some reason?

Do you only use the direct link to the asin? No keyword reference in it?
Typically direct or canonical for external ads.

A quick question, do you prefer driving traffic directly to the Amazon listing or get them to some landing page and then drive them to Amazon, and what's your opinion to get them to a landing page to tell all the necessary information of the product will it lead to better conversions?

Just started my first Pinterest campaign, though a little confused - when creating the campaign I was supposed to provide a URL to whether direct the traffic, so I entered the link to the Amazon listing. However, when a pin is chosen, obviously it has its own URL as we fill in while creating the pin itself. And these two URLs are not the same. So where the ads will direct the clicks to? To the URL entered at the campaign level or to the URL that appears in the Pin itself?

Do Pinterest posts normally get impressions WITHOUT advertising them? I made a few posts with an advertising credit, which of course did get impressions. On my next few posts, I noticed over 1K impressions on VIDEO PINS I made that I did not advertise. Now, after a few weeks of not advertising, my plain non-advertised Pinterest posts are getting no impressions. Hmm
Like anything, it depends. If you have good imagery, a relevant highly sought after topic/solution, and work the KWs properly - you'll definitely get organic traffic.

Thank you for that... 1 question for you here... lets say I made 10 PINS and did nice ART and call for action. how I am going to say to the customer I am going to return his money... how I am actually doing that? its just a PIN with link to Amazon product list. where is the part I am doing behind the scenes?
I don't use this strategy for rebates. So no money back in these scenarios.

Not really. You can just rinse and repeat what's in this video, tie in amazon attribution over time if you want to measure payback, etc.

Hey Adam How do you find the time to do all of this different stuff (Pinterest, Reddit, Google, build brands, make videos, etc) if you have a full-time job and a wife?
Good question! I get out of kilter at times, but I generally love this stuff. And a few years of compounding effects (little incremental bits of knowledge and skills compounding over time).
@@AdamHeist Finding time for Amazon FBA is a struggle for me with my full-time job, wife, and newborn. I end up squeezing it into my nights and weekends (and getting yelled at by the wife).
I completed a thorough campaign with great keywords and a targeted audience, and I got to the last step and I get an unknown error when I pick certain video Pins to promote. They have valid Amazon product links in them. Although the Pinterest campaign manager says all of my pins are available to add to the campaign, apparently it does not like some of my pins for an unknown reason. Let's see if Pinterest support ca n help me figure out the problem.

@@AdamHeist I got an answer. Let this be a lesson to everyone, DO NOT add Emoticons to any area of your pin text. According to Pinterest Support, you can't advertise on any Pins that contain Emoticons! :)

@@AdamHeist I created 2 more pinterest accounts just like how you showed it on your youtube. After creating them, it got shutdown straight away.. I haven't even done any pins yet ... When I appealed ... for some reason, they activated one of them and did not want to activate to other one ? Its so strange... Its a new account and I haven't even started doing anything on it yet.
