I love your key fob idea! I just bought some key fobs online and am going to give it a try for some teachers at my kid's school! Thank you for the idea =)
Wow, such great suggestions! I’m definitely going to put the key fob and tote bag on my list for teacher thank you presents 🤩 And I think I’m going to make a door lump as a present for myself! 😁
Thanks Lauren! I hope you enjoy making those! I should add the door lump to things to sew for myself too, instead of having to prop my door open with my blanket basket 😅 It's a bit bulky!
Thank you Moira! Aren't they cute? I keep looking at the Curly Life website to see if she's released this year's first pattern yet because I'm very intrigued by those too and would love to join in with that this year!
I'm so glad you found an idea you like! I am thinking of making some of the sleeping bags again myself for my little nieces this year too! Thank you Sharon!
Thank you so much Juliet! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have very happy memories of visiting Johnson City, Tennessee for a flute convention as a young teenager, back in 1994!
Thank you so much! I thought I'd try and look a little bit festive for this video! 💄😄 The bag patterns are great - the Hebe drawstring one has so much detail in the pattern to get really neat and professional-looking finishes. It makes me so happy to see my mum using hers! I am tempted to try making the duffle bag too at some point!
Thank you Lynn! The felt ornaments are soooo cute! I keep looking at the "What a Curly Life" website to see if this year's have started releasing yet... can't wait! Found all my felt yesterday so that I'd be ready to get going! 😁
Sarah thank you for all your lovely ideas and all the time you must have spent in making this video for us. I am so glad that I came across your channel through this November challenge. I have subscribed and can't wait to see more of your work. I loved that both your dad and mom were willing to be your model s.
@@sandraburson9337 thank you so much Sandra! I am so glad to have you here and happy you enjoyed the ideas! Yes I am lucky to have had grateful recipients and models for many of my gifts! Always makes me feel good to see them being used and appreciated. 🥰
Hi Sarah, thanks for all those gift ideas. I'm off now to check out that door stop ( for me, though) as I've been procrastinating making one for ages. I love the idea of hand sewn felt decorations. They look beautiful.
Thank you Annette! I hope you find a decoration that takes your fancy - they are so rewarding to sew and to display each year! I need to make myself a door stop too - it's one of those things I meant to make for everyone last year but only got as far as making one! 😆
Hi Sarah, another Melburnian here and I also work in a school as an ES. I really liked some of your ideas, thanks for the links so I can give them a try. Hopefully your report writing is going well, not long now 'til our Chrissy break.
Oh hello Judith! Thank you so much for watching! I'm allllmost done with my corrections and reports this year, hooray! Hope yours are going well too. Enjoy the last few weeks of the year! 🤗
Wow! So many great gift ideas, especially the tote bags. My nephew is a single dad to 2 little girls. I asked him if he would like me to make tote bags for the teachers and assistants in each of the girl's classrooms. He was thrilled with the idea. Knowing you are a teacher and using one just made the idea so perfect. I never thought of making felt ornaments. That would be something to make for next year, as it looks like it would be slow sewing. I also love hand sewing, especially a portable project. Christmas on the beach, sign me up. Unfortunately due to climate change we don't always get snow where i live in Canada. It's great for traveling, but I do miss the look of the snow.
Oh I'm so glad you found the ideas useful! Yep, you can't go wrong with a tote bag! Again, it's one of those gifts that will be used regularly, and the teacher will always remember who gave it to them! The felt ornaments are a lovely couch project but do take some time, depending on which pattern you go with! I am so tempted to try one of the Ebenezer series ornaments but I have soooo many things I want to make I think that would be pushing it this year!
Such cute ideas Sarah! I would have absolutely loved matching clothes with my dolls when I was little ! I’d love to experience a Beach Christmas.. it sounds so strange to me 🥶 Happy festive sewing 🎉
Thank you so much Rachael! Yep, we love a warm and sunny Christmas day here - a big tradition is carols by candlelight outdoor events - thousands of people gathering on balmy summer nights and singing carols after sunset - I love it!! We are hoping for a lovely warm / hot day this year so that we can eat outside and the kids can swim in my sister's pool! Think "Christmas Swim" Bluey episode if you've seen it!
Oh, yes! I made matching pajamas for kids and dolls back in the day, 1970’s. I love to see what the following generations are making! They used to say that sewing was going to be a lost art….
Thank you so much! The wall hanging is actually an emroidered quilt that my sister bought for me during her travels in India about 20 years ago. I had it stretched across a frame so that I could display it as art - I love it! As for my fabrics... so many places! Doops Designs is a real favourite (but they only open for pre-orders occasionally), Darn Cheap Fabrics, Maai Design, Wattle Hill Fabrics, Dahlia Sewciety all sell beautiful and fun fabrics! I've also purchased from Material Difference and Next State Print in the past too, which were also great!
Thank you! I will check out the websites of the stores you mention (I'm in the States), and what a great gift from your sister's trip to India--really like the palette.
Nice video great ideas. Lovely to have some southern hemisphere Christmas content. I have just found your channel but will definitely return. Julie in Tasmania. Thank you ❤❤❤
I believe you can! The Hebe drawstring bag has boxed corners built into the pattern, actually! I forgot to mention that. It's designed to also be able to used as a "basket" for your yarn (or whatever you use it for!) when the top section is folded down and it sits flat on the bottom. 😀
Thank you! Yes I have included links for everything - try clicking on the name of the video and you should see all the links etc. hope that works for you!
Hi Sarah. I’m still not getting links unfortunately. It just takes me to the Chapters and transcripts. I must be doing something wrong. I’ll just have to listen carefully and try and find the patterns myself. X
@ oh no, that is weird! I can see them when I click the title of the video. On my phone I then have to click on “more” as most of it is hidden. Good luck!!
Great ideas! Two unrelated items: #1 Is that your beach/summer haircut? It looks fabulous! #2 An unsolicited idea for your high school/secondary school students for the 2025 Christmas program (I'm guessing your school has one) is a song you may be familiar with, "The 12 Days AFTER Christmas." It's funny and may be something you'd all enjoy. (You may, of course, disregard everything past "fabulous" in this comment.)
Haha thank you Peg! Good spotting - I filmed this video on the day I had a haircut! I'm glad you liked it! I will look up that song! We do have Christmas events but we finish quite early in December (6th!) and then don't see the students again until late January so our window for singing Christmas repertoire is quite limited! I do love it though. 🎄🥰
The 3 ladies that made the handmade items, could you please write their names or businesses down? I can’t find any of them. Thank you for any help you can give.
Do you mean the felt decorations? They were from Nuvolina Handmade (on etsy), MmmCrafts (also on etsy) and What a Curly Life - she has her own website. ☺
Thanks for a lovely presentation, your ideas are really great. Here’s hoping you and your family have a wonderful beach Christmas.
I'm so glad you liked it, thank you so much! Merry Christmas to you!
Love the key fobs
Thank you - they're such a simple yet practical gift idea!
I'm happy when I come across an Australian RUclipsr. Most adults have just about everything they need so a tree decoration is a lovely gift.
Thank you so much Caroline, I think a decoration is a lovely idea! And a nice couch project to sew while watching Christmas movies! 😄
Fantastic selection of gifts Sarah. Thank you very much.
Thank you Mary!

Oh, I love the doorstop. I'm trying to find ways to deal with fabric scraps, and making it a gift is even better 😊
It's a great one Sharon! I need to make some more, including one for my place!

Great ideas! A great paid apron pattern with amazing pocket options is from Waffle Patterns.
Thank you Nancy! Oh I just looked up that pattern - looks so practical - so many pockets!
Lovely video

Oh hello Jane! Thanks for watching, and good luck with the rest of the term! (I love this time of year... just a few more reports to write now! 😆)
