Watching you bead and embroider has been such a peaceful way to spend some time. I want to try out some beading but on a much smaller scale - I figure if I do a Christmas tree ornament or two I should be able to finish them by December - even if my attention span waxes and wanes.

Superb cat content! You're soooooo patient, I would have gone bonkers a while ago, speaking from experience. Actually, I think it's better that your soutache (correct?) isn't perfectly straight, it adds character and fits into the flowy aesthetic of art nouveau. And the beading is just fine. You have so much going on already: high-low hem line, embossed fabric, there will be flowers, etc. Obviously, if you feel that more is more, go for it, I just think it's great already. This video was such a lovely way to start my morning.❤
P.S. I just have to comment how cute your wardrobe is! All those adorable details like ruffles, or embroidery, or flowy sleeves - love, love love.

    • @moth.faerie

Thank you! I think normally it would be soutache but mine is a novelty sparkle thread haha, but thank you I appreciate all of your input! I agree with you that the wobblyness actually works here. It looked delicate but possibly seen through the haze of whatever that caterpillar is smoking and it works for the gown. i think the "wobbly" embroidery not only makes the project look lovingly handmade but also very much "alice." too much "perfection"--e.g., machine-level perfection--would not look right. and i think your sequins work perfectly! the victorians would have used what you're using if they'd had them.

Granted it won’t always have the best voices for reading the books.... the person I’m currently listening to has a voice that makes me cringe, but I want to listen to the book, so I’ve been dealing with it.

I don't have a stash to pull from and I don't have the budget to buy new materials often, so I end up stuck between projects with nothing to work on. Something that takes 8 zillion hours but can be done a chunk at a time after something is otherwise done and wearable is definitely intriguing.
