      HI, Dulcieogilvie - Thank you for your lovely comments - we always appreciate your generous thoughts! We would love to create series for Netflix or Apple TV, but it is a difficult world for production of art /creativity programming! Thank you again! Kind regards, David and Connie

    David is such an inspiration. A wonderful master of the brush! I genuinely could watch David paint all day long. I've learnt so much by watching and listening to David's every word. Please sir, don't ever stop sharing.

    Wonderful video David! Very much appreciated. This one makes me want to be more ‘ capricciosa’ whimsical and capricious at the same time. Thank you

    So happy to see this video as I only live a 30 minute drive from Olana and have sketched there many times! Finally retiring as an elementary art teacher and can’t wait to paint plein aire at Frederick Church’s estate! Thank you for sharing!

    Thanks as always. I think of bright yellow appearing often in Church / Cole paintings. Was there perhaps a new pigment available to them?

    • @DavidDunlopSimmonsArt
      @DavidDunlopSimmonsArt  9 месяцев назад +1

      HI, Stephen - Always great to see you! Thank you. There were new yellows available during that time, cadmium yellow and chrome yellow, as well as others. We will write later about this. Kind regards, Connie and David

    They used to use opera glasses at the viewings, so people could see all the details in the painting.

    Love the painting you did, David, but I preferred your student’s painting before you worked on it. Was the scale off? Sure. But the shapes were more engaging.

    I've been to Olana, certainly a place of immense beauty and artistic inspiration, explored all over, and came away with my sketches. I do find Dunlop a good painting teacher with his hands-on demonstrations. But as painters we all work differently, so I find it trying to watch his methods and handling. This is not the place to critique his paint handling, so will leave it at that.
