Hey I know this post is about Hawkeye and I'm going to watch it this evening but I was wondering are you finished doing videos on The flash on the CW cuz I was wondering if you're going to do any videos on the Armageddon there's some weird things happening that out had some questions about
i don't exactly know why but seeing the Avengers level threats reframed again (from the perspective of children for example - I believe there were other shows and movies where reframing was shown) makes the scenario even more frightening
we saw fearless heroes joking and fighting in these battles and then: a lonely child, who wasn't prepared for anything like this and the new angles from which we see the chaos - I love it! just like in BvS, it gives the whole battle a deeper meaning

i agree. similar to what we got from young wanda and pietro with the missile, and young sylvie with the tva. i'd love a peter parker flashback to when tony first saved saved him, from his point of view. also, the child acting on these show is excellent

Really enjoyed D’Onofrio(though I do wish he was huge like Kingpin, but that would have to be CGI), Charlie Cox, John Bernthal and Kristen Ritter, so I really want them all in the MCU!! Don’t know her name, but I really liked Misty Knight too, so I’d be happy if that actress continued her role too!! I’d be fine either way with Mike Colter as Luke, didn’t love him or hate him. But yeah...recast Iron Fist!!
the hotel that they went to in the show was bought by fisk in the last season of daredevil…… may not be right but it looked the exact same as that one

Jeremy is playing Hawkeye perfectly. A very tired hero who wants none of it, but just enough ego to not want someone else take up the Ronan name. Also the wife totally asked about the suit so she knows. I predict that Yelena will come in the last 3 episodes to kill Clint but end up helping him and moving more toward being the new Black Widow.
He doesn't want others to take up the Ronan name because he had made a lot of enemies while he was Ronan and doesn't want them to end up being killed by them, not really because of his ego.

Jeremy is the best part of the series so far to be honest. I like watching him come out of retirement and flex his muscle memory a bit.

I love how the writers used Kate’s lines to explain how the MCU is shifting away from the traditional gritty “realistic” character outfits and shifting to a more comic accurate look to connect to the audience. Also love how much this show is influenced by the Fraction comics.
They're still being realistic, but there are certain things they will never do that would look too goofy in live action

Hawkeye: Die Hard with a Bishop
I love relatable heroes like Daredevil, Batman, Nightwing, and Green Arrow. Spider-Man and The Heroes For Hire are awesome to, even with their powers, they’re very grounded, and have every day troubles. I fell in love with the Daredevil series, because of the gritty, realism. Very human based stories and emotions, I’ll always prefer that over the cosmo stuff.
My grandparents always had butterscotch in their house too. The reason being that’s the candy from their childhood. My grandparents grew up during the Great Depression and that was a cheap and easy candy to make. And because they loved it so much it was just passed down through the generations but other candies were invented to take their place so now it’s considered old people candy. My grandma made all kinds of hard candy like peanut brittle too.
Exactly the same story here, except it was my parents who lived through the depression. Their favourite brand was Werther's Original and they never left home without some. If they did forget it then there was always some in the car glovebox or mum's handbag. :)
I was going to mention this if someone else didn't. It's a left over from the Great Depression Era. It was a tough life for our grandparents & great grandparents.

I’m very fascinated on how the Hawkeye series is a couple years after the events of Avengers Endgame because we all assume it would’ve just fit into the timeline of 2024 so after Spider-Man No Way Home
Spiderman was to come out a lot earlier then it did, so originally it would have been after not before.
pretty sure the director was talking irl chronological terms as it’s been 2yrs since Endgame to us. In canon, Hawkeye takes place in December 2024, there’s even set photos for the upcoming chinese new year of 2025, those poster wouldn’t be around almost a year later in-canon

This show is perfect for the holidays. The city shoot of Christmas New York. Are amazing
I think my favorite moment was watching that Rogers! stage show and seeing Clint practically rolling his eyes at it and finding out that he's turned off his hearing aids. That opening scene with young Kate watching the Chitauri attacking the city and seeing Hawkeye fighting them was great too. We the viewers didn't get to see a lot of the man on the street views of that attack. Thanks Charlie!
I teared up on the opening scene cause I love seeing new heroes are made after seeing the older heroes fight off villains

love how clint has to go out of his way to not be reconized or get free food everywhere, while falcon is broke, can't get a credit and almost gets arrested for nothing. And maybe that's the point. But I think it's pretty much unbelievable that every avengers wouldn't be a celebrity

I think the public's level of respect towards Clint differs from Falcon because he's an OG Avenger. He fought in the very first attack on New York. That set the tone for the public's relationship with the OG Avengers going forward. The public rarely recognizes the secondary heroes in that universe. If Falcon and Hawkeye switched places, he would be getting the same level of respect.
Falcon is not one of the original avengers he did not participate in the battle of New York
I'm so happy to see my favorite Marvel character finally get his own show even though he's sharing it with the other Hawkeye. Jeremy Renner is one of my favorite actors. I couldn't see anyone else playing Hawkeye. I'll never forget watching Thor so many years ago and hearing Coulson radio to Barton to stop Thor and he goes for a gun but then he grabs the bow. I thought that was the coolest thing ever. I couldn't wait for Avengers and then they make him a bad guy for 90% of the movie and then he's the brunt of jokes for 90% of the Infinity Saga. Be it not all of them are bad or against him but still and it took way too long for Black Widow and him to get their own movie/series. They're both very grounded characters. I feel it would have balanced out the Infinity Saga even more but oh well at least we're finally getting a Hawkeye series based on one of my favorite/the best comic book runs of all time!!! Lucky the Pizza Dog is Awesome!!!

HAWKEYE is my favorite Avenger because when I was from the age 4 to age 20 i used a bow, i used a recurve and a compound bow, my draw weight at the age of 14 was 75 pounds now im at 140 draw weight. I used to be part of a Archery Team called Aero Dynamics and the owner was a retired police officer. He taught me how to use a bow and so did my older brother. Aero Dynamics would have Archery Practice regularly and when ever you got a bullseye you were given a key chain too hook on to your quiver to show your skill. I have some(not going to say cause i dont want someone to think im lying)key chains and i have trophies for 1 st 2 nd 3 rd place in three different archery competition in my age group at the time. Yeah Hawkeye and Green Arrow are my favorite characters.
While there was so much I loved, my favorite was actually the custom intro and end credits with all the Aja comic art. It was so amazing to get to see it on our big screen, especially since it's one of my all time favorite comic runs.
That was an amazing touch. I love how they even explained how things are moving towards a much more comic accurate aesthetic.
I agree, shame David Aja's art was quite literally ripped from the comics (Especially the part with the red car from the chase), and he has openly stated that he is not getting paid for it, but that's just Disney's way I guess, I try to look past it because other than the fact that they're not treating creators very nicely, I do like this show

Rogers The Musical seems like a deep layered Hamilton Easter Egg. Their poster is the same color as Hamilton’s, On the real poster, Hamilton himself makes a star like shape (The shield has a star). Hamilton also played its original cast run at the Richard Rogers Theater and it’s exclusively streamed on Disney Plus.
I love how Clint calls out the cosplayer playing Katniss Everdeen from hunger games. I actually think this is a reference to Hailee Steinfeld who was originally in contention to play her :)
Plus it could also refer to how archery nerds and experts dunked on Renner's on-screen archery techniques in Avengers 1 vs. Jen Lawrence's believability as an archer in the Hunger Games films.

The scale of the MCU is crazy. How do we go from street level sword fighting mob boss storyline. Then have stories like Loki with time travel and shit. Amazing
As a fair weather fan of the marvel universe, I really like this series! I appreciate the opening flashback in episode 1, giving the background of Kate Bishop. I can get into this story without knowing details of where they are in the timeline or what phase… I was hooked with the ending scene and couldn’t wait for the next one to start. BUT I have no idea who the lady is at the end of episode 2, so onto the next recap. 😉

The inclusion of Ant-Man in the musical can be chalked up to the public’s incomplete understanding of what actually happened during the Chitauri invasion. Plus it’s a nod to the fact that, in real-world comics, Ant-Man actually WAS one of the founding Avengers.
Not Scott Lang’s Ant-man. The founder of the avengers was Hank Pym’s ant-man

I love Hawkeye and Black Widow, as specially how human and normal they are amongst basically gods.
An interesting take I saw some talk about is that the reason Antman was included in the battle of New York might have been due to the time traveling in Endgame. Citizens might have gone back to footage or simply recalled seeing Antman for the first time in 2012 not during his first solo movie.

Kate Bishop didn't destroy that bell and tower. It was only one strong breeze away from falling itself. If a bell that size falls after an arrow hits the clapper, that bell was about to fall anyway. I can't believe they put that in the show.
That long-blade fitting inside that short hilt really was a pretty neat trick. I want one.
Now I know what was filmed inside the W Hotel. We all knew early in the year that the show would be set around Christmas because the giant Christmas tree was visible from the street. Every time I looked out the window or walked outside, for about 2 weeks, I saw that Christmas tree inside the restaurant. But that's not the outside of the building. I was so glad to see Midtown Manhattan throughout the show. I've not been there in some years now. So the show was filmed in Midtown Manhattan and here in Midtown Atlanta, besides some scenes shot in other places around Atlanta. I'm the only person around here who does not recognize any part of Atlanta in the trailers.
Before an hour ago, I had given absolutely no thought to a poster that I saw of Lady Liberty holding Cap's Shield back when they were filming No Way Home. I don't remember exactly what the picture looks like anymore. I saw it only in passing and thought nothing of it. But the posters of the Rogers Musical in Hawkeye brought it back to mind.
I missed seeing this episode, was in the hospital and sub ended. So thank you for this one, I loved the way they fitted the Roger's tag line in the musical and the look on clints face was like...really,, lol. Keep up the awesome work.( shameless plug and pun intended ),I look forward to these all the time ,!!!

Just finished reading the Matt Fraction & David Aja run of Hawkeye, having seen it featured here, and on some "greatest" lists, and yeah it was really well done! Love the story, and the minimalist art style.
Such a phenomenal premiere!
Seriously though, it's amazing that they've created this "universe" that is deep and connected. Each series covers a different aspect of it.

The Fraction & Aja comic is NOT about Clint training Katie to be his succesor. She's already her succesor and a well-established Young Avenger.
The Fraction/Aja run focused on Clint's life as a down-to-earth, unlucky, street-level vigilante while he took a break from the Avengers.
Katie appears as a supporting character and the voice of reason, not as ward or pupil.

The tracksuits are hilarious. They nailed it, props to those actors. It's going to be crazy for when Kate is doing crazy crazy stuff after starting her career in the streets.

When Armand says to Eleanor “I should’ve known this empire of yours would be build on a lie”, it is similar to the Elf (which Jon Favreau played a character on as well as directed the movie) where Buddy says to the Fake Santa “ you sit on a throne of lies”.
My favorite thing was Matt Fraction was actually a consultant on the series and comic book inspired series opening.
I love the cringy musical and Clint saying Antman wasn't there.
Obadiah Stane reference is Hailey Stanfeld working with Jeff Bridges right after he was in Ironman.

I had a physics issue with the impossible retracting sword. Was this just added so Sword Meister could fit it in jacket pocket? It looks ridiculous when auctioneer demonstrates as the blade is wider than the hilt it retracts into.
Hawkeye’s son Nathaniel is also named after Natasha not just Pietro, hence the “Nat” portion of his name. Had he been born a girl he would have also been named Natasha. This was referenced in Age of Ultron

I think there will be a twist where the mother is the one who did the killing instead of the swordmaster. It is too obvious if Swordmaster is the killer.
So far the shows pretty good I must say. Can’t wait to see what this show has in store for us next. All I know is if they kill Hawkeye I’m gonna be pissed!
I loved the look on Kate Bishop's face after she got caught during the bell tower incident. Classic.
I couldn’t stop laughing when i saw Aleks Paunovic playing the same type of character bullying when he was bullying Kate in this episode, as when he was apart of interrogating black widow in the first avengers, and in Green lantern after the bar scene. Lol
I loved the Thanos was right shot. Especially the way the eternals made thanos’s actions look heroic like he was saving the earth from the awakening.

Great so far. My favorite pacing of the many series. I really liked two episodes to start.
Favorite moments, "I could do this all day". Origin scene of Kate Bishop (one man made a difference. Hawkeye is her world.) And animated training.
How could the world not know Clint was Ronin? Every other detail about the Avengers is common knowledge.
Who did Tony sell Avengers Tower to? It has an arc reactor.
What is up with the watch?
I love Kate Bishop. It's great to see her brought to life MCU style and especially being brought to life by a great actress. The terribly cheesy musical was hilarious
