Heredity & Environment
Heredity & Environment are the two most important factors influencing a Child's Development. The contrast of Heredity and Environment can also be referred to as the Nature v. Nurture debate.
The Genes and the DNA are the carriers of Hereditary attibutes.
Examples of Environmental factors include Food, Shelter, Family, Education.
Heredity & Genetics - The connection.
Just like Zoology is the study of animals; and Botany is the study of Plants - Genetics is the study of Heredity.
Gregor Mendel - is considered to be the 'Father of Modern Genetics'. He conducted experiments with Pea Plants - which are called 'मटर' in Hindi.
Gregor Mendel crossed pea plants which had various characterestics - such as Tall plants, Short plants, Yellow colored peas, Green colored peas. By observing the results, he theorized how different traits are passed on to the next generation. His exteriments were the basis of the concept of Dominant and recessive traits.
