I've been out of High School for over 13 years and have finally decided to enroll in college this semester. I am scheduled to take the college assessment test next week and I found this video out of pure necessity. I am truly grateful for this teacher and this video. He was thorough is his explanation of the simplification process. This is the Algebra teacher I needed in 2003!!
2003 is my birthdate
me too
Amanda Olveda-Martinez me too
+Amanda Olveda-Martinez Well done for continuing your education after 13 years.I hope you passed your test.
Me too, Amanda!

@@Cristian-pn9ny it's bc China my dude
I’m learning this in pre algebra
We can all realize that this dude deserve an award for making our life easier
If we have more teachers like yaymath ,maybe kids will start falling in love with math😀😄😸
Lol
gib sannoh I'm going to start calling him yay math guy.
watch my maths videos.
this dude is an awesome teacher. Its not that he get distracted, he know how to keep the attention of the kids. and teach them in a way they can relate. Great job teach!
I know this video came out 3 years ago but i hope you see this. You are like the best algebra teacher i have seen like i'm pretty sure if everyone had a funny teacher that teaches everything thoroughly unlike teachers these days who do everything fast not explaining it well and expect kids to do good on tests.
All kids would do better
You are a life saver. I took a year off from school and my senior year I had no math, so after 2 years I had forgotten most. I watched a few videos and got a 94 on my placement test. I've tried a bunch of different youtubers and I found most hard to follow or just really boring. I just wanna thank you for helping me pass.
Brandy, your story inspires. Thank you so much for sharing.
I have watched nearly 15 different videos over the past semester.....this video better explains almost EVERYTHING. Why isn't all math classes taught with these examples. Huge failure in math departments for not normalizing their teaching techniques.
Great video.
watch my helpful maths videos.
god id love school if he was my teacher
Yup
I'm 36 and back in school with a 4.0, but I have to take developmental math. I've always thought I hated math. I even thought of changing my major away from Computer Science, but it's a relatively well paying and stable career. My family really needs this, so here I am. I'll be watching more. Thank you!
I am in my first year of college and math is really testing my patience lately. I decided to google how to solve negative exponents, and came across your video on RUclips, and this was VERY helpful! I think your approach, of reaching the kids, is something more teachers should aspire to learn. I would have LOVED math in High School if I had a teacher like you. Thank you for helping me work through my negative exponent slump, and I will be using your channel as a go to, going forward! YAY MATH! :)

Miller Family it's a total honor, thank you so much for your warm and positive feedback.
Why can't my algebra teacher be like this?
He explained everything in 20 minutes, awesome.
ok, I'm 34 and I'm college, still.....I just could grasp this concept at all, but this helped a ton. thank you!!! God bless
Wait this is what my teacher was trying to explain? Man this guy did a way better job! He’s awesome!
watch my maths videos to learn something..
umm what school do u teach at, I mean totally not because I love you and want to learn there or anything ;)
You make me enjoy math. I usually am never content when doing math, but I really enjoyed your lesson! Thanks and never stop doing this. :)
your humor pulled me in good job and thanks
Pretty bad when I'm in college doing computer programming for the government and this man is better than any tutor/video out there. YAYM@th . You know how to break it down to an understanding dummy proof way...
I just learned it in 20 minutes rather than learning it in my actual class for an hour. Thank you
Right now I am using my dad's phone, but, if this guy was my math teacher I would've loved algebra! He makes it so fun.. I also like my teacher, but I just wish they could maybe make it more fun to learn? Just like this dudee
He's so cool I wish my teacher was like this (I'm in 5th grade) my old man teacher is 65 and he tells us too much boring stories no1 cares he would seriously stop us in the middle of learning just to be like "one time I had problems like these" and blah blah blah is all I could hear for 1 hour
I’m in 6th and learning this
@@Formula_Chase let them speedrun math, this was 5 years ago so their probably on quantum entanglement drives by now
@@troncrash7912 Lol probably, I have no idea why I was so rude in that comment. Why was I so mad 5 years ago? 😂
I'm a vet going through college after 10 years out of school. really been struggling with this concept and this video really brought it into perspective for me. Thank you!
Guillermo Batres, the reciprocal rule applies to the quantities with negative exponents but not to the negative numbers such as, -5. The negative numbers remain as they are in both the numerators or the denominators.
life saver. never too late to learn
It is kinda f%$#ed up how our lives are determined by how good of teachers we have and how much they care to actually teach us something instead of just throwing a book in our faces. Idk I just feel like there needs to be a change made to the education system.
I couldn't be any happier to have found this video.
Pagl
BEST MATH TEACHER. I got an A on the quiz and before watching his video i had no idea how to do it.
This oozes more cheese than an industrial accident at a Kraft factory.
watching this while doing my cardio in PE bc i have a quiz on this next block and my teacher is terrible at teaching and giving us guided review. i’ve been studying all night and day and i hope i remember all of this. she makes the hardest topics have the shortest quizzes lol it’s almost like she wants me to fail
This 20 minute video taught me more than my teacher has taught me all year. That's sad. Cramming for finals tomorrow.
Thanks bro you are a life saver. I've been absent in school for 2 days and I've missed a lot already.
I'm grade ten and this helped me alot! We started dividing exponents by factorising and all my faults was due to not knowing my basics. A strong building starts with a solid foundation. Thanks for the help!
Helped a lot I'm one of those kids that hasn't got math sconce 5th grade and what you and your class did answered my questions thank you so much brahhhh... Lol I hope it helps me on my test tomorrow have a great do u and your class.....
Great Video... like somebody... He takes the attention away with the jokes but still a great explanation! Thank you!
Can I order a clone of Yay math?
He's the best math teacher ever...
If he can teach my grade 6 son how to do this stuff, I don't think there's any need for other math teachers.
He's the best
🤯🤯 I’m pretty much relearning this to help my son with homework. Glad I found this!!!
I wish you were my math teacher. You make math look fun and understanding
You're a great math teacher . You get your students excited. I wish i had a math teacher like that. (:
Have a good day sir,
I always watching your videos about mathematics, I learned sometimes, Now im taking college algebra, Im taking online schooling, so it is very difficult for me learning about math because i don't have teacher, who teach me.
I hope that One day I able to learn.
Thank you so much...
This man totally changed my mindset on teachers
god i wish you were my math teacher, I'm actually not bad at math however, my teacher approaches everything in the most difficult way and I simply can't process it. I go home everyday and watch videos like these just to stay afloat in the class
What an amazing math teacher!!! I understand it so much better now. May God bless you😊
This was very insightful. Just started back this week and explained what my teacher made confusing.
Okay we get it he's a great math teacher! Now go back up there and learn
I will like math by the end of this month. It's a goal.
I have a question. Once I've passed my math test, what are ways to incorporate what I've learned into every day life to maintain all of my hard work? In the past, I would learn concepts for tests and then file them away. How ever, this time around I realize it's important that I not only learn and grasp math for my test, but that I retain it going forward.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)
For the last problem when you did x3/x6 why is it not x-3 ? How is it positive if it is 3-6 ( numbers are supposed to be exponents )
He explained it at 18:35
I love the way this teacher teaches, but the classroom makes me cringe.
I missed class today, and this helped out a lot. Thank you once again.
oh now I understood!!! (my teacher is lame) your COOL
I wish he's my math teacher ^_^ yaymath bruuhhh!

Great teacher. Made everything super simple
I'm reviewing for the SAT, and this is so helpful!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I was struggling because of this
this guy has skills
Hey! I love your videos! I watch em, and I've learned a lot!
This is the best teacher ever. I’m jealous
Math will be very interesting with an interesting teacher like him😊
this guy makes mathematics simple
6:20 My match teacher always taught that if an exponent is negative, put it on the opposite side. In this case, the whole number is ALWAYS in the numerator, so he put it in the denominator place. DO NOT MIX THESE PLACES UP! My teacher gives 5 unassisted points per problem. If I do the wrong way on that part, it's instantly a 2.
Great video. Great that you make learning fun and explain well through each step.
You are the best teacher ever
thanks bro. You taught me morw than I learned in five hours
thank you. you explained it way better than my teacher.
Great video.
When you raise a product to a power, you raise each of the FACTORS to that power, not each of the TERMS. This is a huge stumbling block for students. The most common mistake in Algebra is applying this principle to TERMS (which are added and subtracted). Math vocabulary is very precise!
Thank you for helping me understand it. ♥️
6:43 "Now we're going to jump into this hardcore here it comes: master of disaster, man with the plan, fixture with the mixture". :)
this is algebra 1 in 2016 :D

OMG!! You are amazing!!!! You just made this make so much sense to me! Thank you. Please keep the videos coming. There a lot of help =)
got it after the hard struggle of solving exponents thanx
how would you do this if there's all across
for an example
2a^3b^-1*a^-2 ?
This guy is amazing! Love the analogies, love the energy, and I love the detailed explanations that he gives! Thank you for helping me get through my algebra class.
watch my maths videos to learn maths easy.
School would be so damn fun. Where do ou teeeeeaaacchhhh! xD yaymath!
damn i wish i had a math teacher like this soooo fun and helpfull
Yep, my hate valves were roaring right then. I just get intimidated by X's and y's like that. Love the vids!
can you do 4a to the second B to the negative third)squared (B to the -7 C to the 8)to the -3 over 2Bto the 3 C to the negative 5 B to the -6) to the -4
Here comes the sexy math guy. I honestly came here for the math. Really...
No really I came for the exponents. My math teacher actually showed me this channel and well I've been hooked ever since. *daydreaming... (and paying attention =D)*
What an awesome and fun teacher!
Yes also the title should of been Algebrahh....
Also he deserves an award for being the best and funny teacher 👍 10:51 Who would possibly hate you, you make things easier and fun His IQ is over 9000
This man saved me in math class
That's cute Sir. You're cool. 👍 Hahaha! Thank you for the lesson. I understand now about negative exponents. I'm currently reviewing for my civil service exam.
Could you go to 12:34 and explain why the (3X...)-3 is NOT 27? I'm confused at this point because that's how you got the answer on top of 3(3) is 9??? Thanks!
You're raising it to the NEGATIVE 3rd power instead of positive. 3 raised to positive 3 is 27, however, 3 raised to negative 3 is 1/3^3 (as shown at 6:21) Hope that helps!
I have a math problem I was wondering if you could show how to work this out
{(x-4)^2}^-3
-2x^-2
